Sprint Mogul and GPS - Mogul, XV6800 General

Hello.
What application can I purchase / or freeware that would allow me to use the GPS via STORED MAPS on my SDCard without having to access the internet and MOST IMPORTANTLY WITHOUT having to use a custom / Cooked ROM .
Mogul:
ROM 3.35.651.2
Radio 3.35.08
HWV: 003

I use tomtom 7 on my mogul, works great and doesnt require any type of internet connection for regular use. Hope that helps

Anyone know of a wifi sniffer/snooper that'll work with Exec

Hi
I'm looking for a wifi sniffer/snooper similar to mini-stumbler that'll work with the wireless net card of the exec.
Ditto
I know
Try wiFiFoFum (google it I can't remember the link) its a very good sniffer which works on the exec AND supports GPS for wardriving. PS its also FREE
Socket Companion has released a WM 5. compliant WiFi application a few days back. You can have a go at that. Its not free btw.

Excellent software, it was on my list of "Things that I have installed on my IPAQ to try on the Exec".
URL is http://www.aspecto-software.com/WiFiFoFum/
Some other points about the software :- It does not use an installer or CAB so nice and easy, also, make sure you do not use it at the same time as your activestink (USB) connection as it will not pick any WiFi access points up! There should be no reason to change any of the settings in the program to get it to work first time and pick up a AP even if you are already connected to it. Accessing the GPS might be another matter, not tried yet.
For anyone that has not used it yet, try it, its as good, if not better than the "non free" software and yes, it will log the gps location when a AP was found to a file for later incorporating into a TomTom POI for example.
It has issues with landscape display (it doesnt flip) but apart from that the software is fantastic!
ok I've tried wififofum with my leadtec bt gps and it works just fine.
wifi doesn't seem quite as sensitive as the ipaq 3715 but I can live with that!
wififofum all the way!

Qtek 9100 - CommView® - wifi monitor

Hi All
I tested CommView® for WiFi PPC but is not working with Windows Mobile 5.0 - Qtek 9100. I see SDIO Wifi card in seting of CommView®. Install this detected driver but then Wifi module by Communication Manager cannot start.
Any Ideas?
Any other Wifi minitor or Wifi sniffer for Qtek 9100 or PPC?
Thanks you for any answear
Try WiFiFoFum, probably the best WiFi scanner for Windows mobile.
Beside regular features similar to many other WiFi programs, this one can find invisible SSID's, has a radar layout, and can be connected with GPS devices... A must have

WiFi Companion not working in Trinity?

HI!
I have been using wifi Companion in all my previous devices, but when I have moved to Trinity it seems to either interfere with other programs (Pocket Controller? O2 suite?) or maybe with AKU 3 itself.:
- Network listing dissapears randomly.
- It shows no connection while the MS icon in topbar says it's connected.
- No WWW etc simbols in the connection page...
Any other experience about it?
Any suggestion in case you solved it?
Thanks in advance!

Yes, I got the same problem as well. I just gave up using it :-(
There are other tools mentioned here, that do work to detect wifi networks... please use the search function...
Try using GPSGate from franson. I know this fixes issues with WiFiFoFum on the Artemis. You need to output the GPS data onto another port. There's a free trial available, although I purchased it because it keeps the GPS running permenantly which provides near instant GPS fixes in applications such as tt6 etc.

thanks for answering, but I'm looking for an integrated solution to Wi-Fi management: changing networks, IP-profiles, and so on.
WifiCompanion suits most (not all) of my needs. I don't see any program so complete.
To saminegm: I did research, and tried (in other threads in this forum) with ministumbler, wifi fofum, hitchhiker, Wifi Knife, and -believe me- many others.
It's just that Wifi companion seems to fail in Trinity, that´s the reason for asking especifically in the Trinity forum.
Thansk anyway

Doesn't that use up the battery much faster to have GPS on all the time?
Wrong issue?
BTW weren't we talking about wi-fi programs? What is the issue with GPS? I don't even have a GPS enable ROM, they are not available in Spanish... yet.

Priority based connection - HOW?

Hi all,
I just purchased an O2 XDA Zinc and have not been able to figure out how to establish a priority based connection, for all programs (such as Skype, IE etc) that automatically require an internet connection.
What I am trying to achieve is this:
When I do a Send/Receive (Email) OR open IE OR open skype, the app should first try and connect to the WLAN, and if this is not available, connect using the GPRS settings on my phone.
The current situation is that I am having to change this option every single time manually etc.. (Under Settings/Connections/Connections - WM6) and the experience is quite exasperating!
A colleague of mine has this feature built in to the Nokia E61 and I've seen this feature in action - just wondering if WM6 would support something similar - either through the apps that come with the ROM/phone or a third-party app?
Thanks in advance!
Best regards to all...
WM5 and WM6 will always try to use the WLAN if available first, and then fall back on GPRS or such.
You would need to have your WLAN turned on for this though, or are you referring to the ability for the program that you launch to initiate the WLAN connection so that you don't leave it on otherwise?
ive also have same problem
whenever try to connect to internet,
Zinc will try GPRS first.
there was a day which i didnt noticed it.
and my credit was drained..

WeFi for Pocket PC v1.5.6.8

Requirements: WM5, WM6
Overview: WeFi for Pocket PC is the best software for finding and connecting to WiFi networks.
With WeFi, you always get the optimal WiFi connection.
When you're not connected, WeFi constantly monitors your surroundings, so when you do want to connect it's already aware of the best network.
WeFi for Pocket PC is the best software for finding and connecting to wireless networks with your windows mobile device. With WeFi, you always get the optimal WiFi connection, while keeping the battery consumption to a minimum. The WeFi software provides you with an intuitive and aesthetic user interface to manage your WiFi connection and allows you to automatically launch application once such connection is found. Once connection is established, the WeFi server provides you with information gathered by other WeFi users about your wireless environment, so that your connection gets even better.
In addition, the new one-touch feature gives the user a convenient interface to launch any application or webpage from his Today screen, and configure WeFi to automatically find the best WiFi connection available when this application is launched. Each application can be configured to use only WiFi, or revert to 3G data connection if no WiFi is available. So instead of having to go through the annoying process of finding an open WiFi, hotspot after hotspot, and then opening a browser and going to a specific webpage – a total of 200 clicks – the user can have WeFi do all this for him with a single click of the stylus. Also, since the configurable buttons are big enough, the stylus doesn’t even have to come out – the user can simply do it with his finger.

Just gave this a quick try, and kept getting error message " Need net 2.0 to work"?
Running 6.1 rom so have net 3.5 installed?
Also don't know if it was because of this it wouldn't connect to my network and is difficult to configure.
Will keep an eye on this to see if you can fix it. Thanks for allowing us to test.
Installed to Storage Card if that makes a difference?
Same Problem

Hi; this app looks really useful but I'm also having the problem with Net CF 3.5. I would imagine quite a few people will have the same issue. I couldn't get it to work at all on my Wizard running WM 6.1 and I installed direct to device.
error whit NetCF3.5
same problem, still no working whit NetCF3.5
Help us or give me another programs
thank you
Does this program mess up your WiFi like some have said (elsewhere)?
NetCF
3.5 does NOT include 2.x features. Just install netcf 2.1 + SP2 and it'll run flawless. Wont slow down your system.
thanks for share
