Like other WVGA devices it looks like this interface will be specific to WVGA. Very limiting that is....o well it does look "very nice" lol

nice! today screen Clock with Seconds!
And i love the 1ghz processor xD
Check this video out at Mobile Crunch. I have to say Im not that impressed.
http://www.mobilecrunch.com/2009/02/03/toshiba-tg01-fondled-on-video/
Interface looks pretty great on the video presentation I saw. I'm wondering if the 'stipes' will get a bit stale after a bit of usage? Looks pretty fluid and I'm all about that in my preferred interface. (whichever flavor I'm in to at the moment.) Will be interesting to see what comes out of it for our various devices.
now that i saw the iphone size comparison on msmobiles.com, i beginning to lose interest. this thing is HUGE!
thats nice really

agreed, im on board
I like the settings GUI
But the Toshiba Stripes menu uses way to small buttons (especially for switching clock, calendar etc.)
Sascha
I want, hope they release it in the US too. the top could a bit smaller but I still want one.
it's not a windows interface, it's just like TF2D and TF3D it's over the windows OS.

i totally agree it seems to b point UI ..
With that 1gb processor ps2 games should be doable as long as it has proper video and 3d drivers this time around.
what's the word on availability date?
price?
markets? etc
it would be a really nice upgrade to my athena.
There is already a thread on this subject:

I think it makes the Universal worth having - I just got a Hermes yesterday, and despite it being a beautiful device with feck small buttons, QVGA is too old school these days.
VGA will make you blind faster then the Victoria Secret's catalogue, but it looks beautiful. With careful tweaking it can be made usable for day to day work, but for remote desktop or PocketWord etc, it's great.

VGA mode is fantastic - I couldn't be without it.
I have it turned on all the time but find it mainly useful for:
Web Browsing and actually being able to see worth a damn
PocketPutty connections
Terminal Services

You think that's weird, you should see my table-arm attachment:
FYI - I'm working on a new app for the phone, to make it much better then VJBigPhone. One day some time, hopefully this year
But seriously, VGA is great technically and it's a real shame to use QVGA afterwards, but it is painfully small sometimes. But with appropriate UI tweaks, it can work very well.

the specs says that it has a second display (2.2") anyone found a picture of the front cover??

Have to say, that looks the dogs!
lost some important things
instead of more memory I'm not sure has sense to move from universal to this device. It hasn't gps included or internal storadge, as athena has.

i think that you have to move from universal if you are looking for a good mobile phone with advanced features and pda functions, but if like a good pda with phone functions you can keep your universal...

why do you say that? In the universal I feel lost memory capabilities It affects both sides, pda and phone.
In respect to phone side I think I don't need more features but in the case of the pda I would like it more close a pc (memory, storadge, outside connectivity to screen).
In respect imate 7150, do you know how mutch it could cost?
Im sorry but i posted in the wrong thread, my post was supposed to reply to a comparison between universal and nokia e90
sorry again
bye
Just checked the specs of pdadb.net
......drool....
I still have over a year to go with the contract of my uni. Let's hope this thing is around and affordable. Except if someone comes up with a device that makes me drool even more ;-)
Btw, I would love to play around with the athena, but I use my uni as primary phone and that would not work with the Athena. (For the Dutchies among us, check the review of pocketinfo for more info on the ameo).
Rather disappointing that it doesn't have GPS built-in.
Still, I'm starting to save up my 600-700 quid now.

If only we could get the Nvidia Tegra/APX interface on the HD
I think that would make the HD's interface amazing.

Lol, I will really lmaO when this (nicely) photoshopped HD from here makes it again to the news-headlines, just like the "HD Pro" haha.
Like: "HTC and nVidia working together on new UI for HD."
In fact, we should try to do that, but the top of the inset is not correctly aligned unfortunately .
just wait for a real tegra device to be released... and then touch hd will simply "die"
htc should forget about hot swapping sd cards, and incorporate hot swapping chips!

No, you won't be happy, you'll be lusting after 20mpx, HD recording, 1 GHZ and XGA resolution, like Ericsson predicts - http://www.engadget.com/2008/11/07/ericsson-20-megapixel-cellphones-shooting-full-hd-video-in-4-ye/
Gotta hate that technology always evolving and what not
Yeah exactly, there's always something much better around the corner!
A Build for WAD2 and VGA, portrait only.
Still very much in the early stages but I thought I'd show it and see if there was any interest.

Thanks, performance wise so far it's good but I can only judge on the Emulator it's been built on. I expect on a phone it will be even better.
great, cant wait till its done
Very nice, I really like the Media page.
is it available for qvga???
Sry for my english, but i dont cant find the download.
Looks awesome but only on (W)VGA devices.
Unfortunately not really suitable for (W)QVGA.
Sascha
looks great!
Memory Used
realy NIce themes...keep it work
but i think Fuze/TP etc will able to used it bcoz i think this prog will eat our device Memory..
How about QVGA version?
when you release it?
I like this alot.. Hopefully all the screen real estate on the left side of the screen will be filled with sliding bars (launchers/task manager links) and other scolling madness.. I love the hidden docks in WAD.. Great concept even though its a little clunky and non responsive at times.
sweet! thats sexy as =D
i might have a closer look 2moz
but for now: does the startmenu hav the same options as the one on vista? because i LOVE that one XD
nice i love this skin
Looks AWSOME. If this runs smoothly on a QVGA im willing to test or whatever.

Thanks. The Media Player was something I really worked hard on It combines WAD2, WMP for movies and music, Nitrogen Player for MP3's, Resco radio and a TV section. There is no transition between each of the players so at all times it has the empression of being operated from within the one player a true,
WMP11.

X2
Nice pics...
But going by SE track record and add to that the lag in release of WM 6.5, I dont think this device will hit the shelfs before end 2009
Hardware doesn't seem to have changed much - just the design. Hmmmm..... I actually think the X1 looks better....
EDIT - From the other post concerning X2:
'According to insider:
-8.1mpx auto focus, VGA @ 30fps (MP4 HQ)
-3.5ยด WVGA OLED (increased from 3.0 from X1)
-GPS, aGPS
-Accelerometer
-Faster processor
-512 RAM
-Custom Windows Mobile 6.5 (SE engineers customized Win6.5 which runs very. very speedy. in par with iphone and better in some cases)
-XPERIA Panels are modified with plenty of innovative features (PS3 remote play being one of them)
-Upgrading to Windows Mobile 7 is supported by Xperia panels'
But according to the above screenshot same processor???? Maybe I'm wrong but if the above is implemented then it should be good. design still looks crappy though IMHO....
Great info there. Thanks for sharing it.
By the looks of it... X1 is much better. But in terms of specs if what was stated is true then it'd be great, although I don't think many of us X1 owners now would feel the need to upgrade.
Looking at the keyboard's buttons... is that design supposed to give a better tactile feeling? hmm... I still prefer X1's current keyboard. Took some time to get used to it initially but heck... like it in the end.
Faster processor... well... with all those wonderful cooked roms we have here... guess the difference won't be that much compared to X1.
Oh well.. just my 0.02 opinion. Still love my X1...
With a little improvement from x1, i think almost all the x1 users will stick with their x1 because its not really what you call an upgrade this year.. But if they are saying that you can upgrade the OS to WM 7 we may think about it..
wats up with ur post saying 512mb ram and the phone saying 200(256mb) ram lol
In my opinion X2 really looks cheap. Its like poor sister of X1. I love design of X1.
Btw. check out the Panels button. There is no X anymore. And I would also miss softkeys.
gee...this is the 3rd thread about X2 on the first page already. How many more do we need? lol
