Does anybody else have this problem? You'll be browsing on the web over wireless, switch back to the homescreen and when you drag over the tabs it hangs when you reach the email icon. Haven't noticed it happening when wireless is off.

Just tried it. I don't have this problem. I'm using the stock ROM. It may not instantly respond when Opera is busy downloading stuff, but it does not hang.
Also tried send/receive mail, then come back to the Home screen to move across tabs. Smooth as silk.

Has anybody else found annoying bugs so far? Here's the ones that I've run into:
- Address Book server sync overwrites changes that you've made from the phone (haven't confirmed this one, might be my fault somehow)
- Multimedia volume slider plays your ringtone once you adjust the volume, but plays it at the volume set in the ringtone slider (not the volume that you're actually adjusting)
- Browser bookmarks list has a lot of trouble keeping site icons straight, it just kind of randomly shuffles them around to the wrong site as you load different bookmarks
- AOL Instant Messenger app shows weird behavior, not sure if it's a bug but it is definitely difficult to use in its current state. Locking the phone prevents messages from showing up, then on unlock they stream in all at once, and if you go too long without checking in on it the program will be terminated but your screen name will not be signed out of AOL's server
- There doesn't appear to be any way to set a vibration for notifications like Text Messages or IMs
- Some apps (MySpace Mobile, specifically) do not account for their process being interrupted when the screen rotates and the current action will be cancelled or the program will freeze.
Overall great phone, I'm really extremely impressed with it as a whole so far. I'm amazed at how fast my internet connection is on EDGE, my old Dash was technically on the exact same connection but took 5 or 10 times longer to load a full web page. Even without 3G the web browsing experience is comparable to using my desktop at home.

ya there is. for example, go to the main Messaging page where it shows all of your threads. Click on Menu > Settings > Vibrate (put a check mark)
same thing with IMs or EMail

Awesome, thank you! Weird that the option isn't available in the same place as setting the vibration function for the phone. Has anybody found solutions to any of these other problems?

Android will get it wrong sometimes on sms threads when the sender is not in your contacts.
I noticed yesterday I received an sms from [email protected] and deleted it. Later an sms from +1913XXXXXXX. When I pulled up the my sms folders later, the newer, undeleted sms from the 913 number said it was from @domain.com.
(and the two are in no way related.) I did a reboot and it still displayed the same.

When I plug my G1 into my iMac the computer freezes and I need to do a hard restart. Is anyone else having this issue? My updates are current on my iMac and all of my other phones work without any problems.

Go to craigslist.org. I wanted to ask a seller a question. When I email from there, it gives me 2 options, to use my pop 3 email account or gmail. If I use gmail, it takes off the craigslist.org extension and replaces it with gmail.com. If i choose to send with my pop 3, it just opens a blank email without the email address. I try to copy and paste the address into the sending field, but it won't let me. I use craigslist a lot, so this is a bit of a pain...

When it switches you over to gmail. Is the body filled out or the sender in the field?

Actually i did try it and it worked for me.
But, i used the mobile version of Craigslist.

I mostly use the SPB Mobile Shell and usually once a day when I receive a text, I press on the text message icon but nothing happens, even when I go to messaging from the menu and text messages the rotating windows logo comes up and then goes away but the text wont open.
The only way to fix it is to restart the phone.
Anyone else gettin this problem or have a fix for it
I too have also had this problem... and like you was only able to fix it with a reset.
Have to say I'm keeping a list of all these little problems, they're making me have a love hate relationship with the phone!! Some days it is so close to going back, the next I love using the phone.

Do you speak about SMS? This messaging function is without problems at my x1, but I do not use the spb panel nor have I installed it. I get about 6-8 SMS a day and can do days without softreset.

It's only happened the once to me so far.
It happened specifically after receiving an SMS message, but after that I couldn't open any messaging, email, MMS or SMS.
When it happened to me I had the following installed (if I remember correctly!)
Default SE X1 build
SPB Shell
Flash Lite 3.1
Batti
Opera Mini 4.1
PHM RegEdit
XperiaTweak 1.6
I was accessing the SMS via the SPB Shell.
It is not the only time I have had something like this happen. When I installed Opera Mobile 9.5b2, Opera started exhibiting similar behaviour, i.e. click the Opera icon the spinning timer would start, then stop, and the application would fail to open. I previously put this down to a specific Opera 9.5b2 problem, but perhaps it's a wider issue with the phone or software compatibility.
So I go to open up my browser this morning on TF3D and for some reason it defaults to IE. Not only that I get a pop up saying that "cannot connect". It says cannot connect with current connection settings. What? First of all I want to default to Opera. Second, IE is not working? I have to go into programs and open Opera now. Anyone have any ideas?

Ive had my HD2 for a couple of months now, its been running ok. I do love the phone but ive had a few issues of recent.
SMS Problem, now ive read about the sms loading issues, wrong timing etc
My problem is when I send an SMS the other person receives them like a day late, sometimes they get it straight away. I have checked to see I have signal and the message has gone through but even then the problem persists.
"get html" is another issue. I currently sync with my work exchange server however, when I try to select "HTML" email format it is greyed out and instead I have to choose plain text. I think at first when setting up the account I do get the HTML option but this must automatically go back to plain text
I have also tried going into an individual message clicking menu > view > get html
but even this is greyed out!!

For the SMS problem, try disabling the HTC messaging client with this app http://handheld.softpedia.com/get/Tweaks/Zenyee-Disable-HTC-Messaging-82632.shtml. This will revert it to the default windows mobile one, which seems to have no issues.
2nd issue, not sure - never used it.
I just bought my phone yesterday and have problems after updating to the latest 'My Phone' and downloading my 2000+ text messages from there.
My HD2 wont wake up. Please see video.

It will go into sleep mode and never wake up. The button lights come on but I have to press the red button behind the battery cover to do anything, what gives? Is there a fix?
I even did a hard reset and the problem still persists, so far it seems to occur after updating 'My Phone' and having it download my 2000+ text messages I notice.
unfortunately, it looks like you are having similar problems with my situation a couple of months ago when i first had my HD2. Except my problem is, after i download all 3,xxx something emails the phone will be very very unresponsive. You can wake it up by holding any button (sometimes it is the home key button or back key button if the power button does not work.) But trust me, it'll become very very slow.
I think the problem here is manila (which is your HTC sense), imagine over 2,000 text messages that needs to sync in the Text massage tab???
You also have to think that manila (Htc sense) is only being used to have a more friendlier user experience of windows mobile, but basically it is an application on top of the operating system that copy or sync information (i.e. email, text message) to have a better view due to ugly built in interface of windows mobile.
If you ever get to wake up your phone, try going to taskmanager and go to process and see how many percent of cpu use is being used by manila.
The fix, either try waiting for manila (htc sense) to sync in all your 2,000+ text messages and wish that manila will stop using too much cpu resource. Or not to download all your text messages.
you can also, disable manila (HTC sense) in the start>settings>today>items and uncheck HTC sense and click on windows default. Trust me, this will work even if you have about 5,000 text messages or email.

having that ammount of messages in a htc messaging app will surely show down the phone. i have had about the same problem when i restored all my messages. can easily be fixed by removing all the messages from the myphone site (or move them to the archive..) then hard reset and sync with myphone..
htc hd2 android wake up problem
hello. if you’re having problem with your htc hd2 slow or no wake up after installing android try replacing the battery with an extending battery and your phone will wake up every time. any other ideas please let me know. thanks
