vibration / haptic pulse on selection - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

hey guys,
i have a diamond touch and im really enjoying the various roms and customisation available. my question is.... is there a way to enable vibration / pulse on selection of an item on the touch screen?
(similar to the way the Touch HD and Samsung Tocco f480 does).
Many thanks
Andy

Take a look in Develop n Hacking, you will find a haptics tool.
I can't remember the name, sorry... VibrateShell?

I'm using an app called Touch Response on my diamond by snailslug. though i only use it together with the on screen SIP. but there are a few options that you can apply
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=450256

yea i use touch response, it's great you can adjust by the ms of how long it vibraters. only thing is, sometimes it will vibrate like violently and longer than the others haha

This link leads you to a program called touchresponse v3.0... I installed it on my mogul and it works like a charm... not nearly as great as the LG Voyager... but good enough.... it is free... give it a try... I set my vibrate on touch to 30 ms...very light vibration...
Thats works great! Good find!
You guys have been using this without an issue?
I installed it yesterday. The only thing I can get it to vibrate on is the on screen keyboard (despite turning off all the "disable if..." options and unchecking "enabled only for on-screen keyboard". So basically it should vibrate every time I touch the screen but like I said it ONLY does it with on-screen keyboard.
And with that said, I can set it from 1ms to 150ms and it vibrates the same amount. The page had a fix for if changing the slider doesn't change the length of vibration. It was a registry key to check but I checked it and it was already set to what they said to change it to.
I am running Titan Reloaded 1.4b1.
Wow! I don't know how I missed this one for so long. Thanks!
Works great on DCD 3.3.4
It was be related to the rom I'm running. Using Titan Reloaded 1.41b I have noticed that during bootup (while still seeing windows mobile splash and stuff) I can tap and it will vibrate every time. But as soon as everything actually loads up it goes back to only working on on-screen keyboard. I'll have to try it with dcd.
The best touch vibrate I've had on my mogul, Thanks!. This is really comparable to the voyager's touch vibrate which i was trying to copy after being so jealous of my friend.

Hmmm. not sure if im doing something wrong or not, but on my XV6800, the vibrate is waaaay too long, loud and "harsh" despite my adjusting it even down to 1ms. In fact, adjusting the duration doesn't even seem to have any affect at all.

Haptic/Vibrating Feedback

Got your HD yet? Loving the vibrating feedback from those virtual button along the bottom? Me to! The question is, how do we enable this feature for other touch screen inputs? It should at the very least be mapped to the two Windows Mobile soft keys right? There is clearly some API for this since Opera it also doing it when you click on a link.
Anyone got any ideas how we can get at it?
yeah i was expecting full screen haptic feedback when i saw the spec sheet few months ago. kinda disapointed to find now that it's only for the capacitive buttons along the bottom.
if samsung omnia can do it why can't the hd?
i'm sure someone in the community will sort something out!
Actually, I noticed that the page buttons on the Touchflow 3D bar also give feedback so that's pretty cool. They don't do it when you slide across the various pages, only when you click to select one so the diffence between the breif press and a press and hold event must be detected also.
I'm sure we will see so more work done with the haptic feedback. I seem to remember that it took just a few days for some ultra bright person (CharlyV was first I think) to revese engineered the API for the G-Sensor so I expect someone will feel like writing a little app to extend the feedback funtions pretty soon.
any news? I am also keen to get haptic feedback on everything.
i use this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=450256
really really love it!
start -> settings -> system -> touchresponse settings to customize to your needs......
kudo's for the maker!
Been posted elsewhere but http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=425063
Is great especially when typing. I've dialed the vibration down so it just tingles as you type.

(25 November 2008) Haptic Feedback 0.3.1 - LG KS20 support (hopefully)!

There are probably similar apps around, but I got bored and made my own!
Currently, there are no options. It's on, or it's off!
Download the cab from here, install it, and then run "Haptic Feedback" from the programs menu.
By default, it installs a shortcut to launch at startup, but if you don't like that, delete "\Windows\Startup\HapticFeedback.Startup.lnk".
If Haptic Feedback is already running, starting the link again will cause it to exit.
Notes:
No external frameworks are required - pure C++
Supports MoDaCo AppToDate
Coming whenever I have enough time to implement it:
Settings - lots!
A settings application
Some features I haven't yet thought about... Suggestions anyone?

Feature Request
I know Heptic feedback is primarily designed to be vibrate response function but my suggestion is, Allow user setting to select both when Heptic feedback or audible feedback on or off for example only if SIP keyboard is enabled or in a specific program.
I really don't like the screen tap sound when used in general for all screen taps under winmo general settings but I would like the ability to have screen taps sound or vibrate feedback or both when I use my keyboard. So the ability to assign sounds or vibration independently of each other would be nice.

lol i love this. it's pointless and battery consuming. but i love it

Why do you think I made it?
It only consumes as much power as getting called constantly, and it's great for annoying people trying to use my phone...
thanks for sharing its cool.

Meh...
I wrote it mainly because I find it useful, and partly to test if I can get input from the device - I'm planning on creating a keyboard hook to launch my Dialer when the "call" button is pressed.
ooo! you should also share this with supbro for his iDialer..
that would be magnificant!
i'm off to sleep, 2000 hours of studying tomorrow.
cheers

As of yet, no. Currently, the vibration motor is being controlled in the same way as LEDs, so it's either on or off... I'll look into an alternate method though.
It won't work on my LG-KS20 too. Just like the other pgm - Vibration Feedback.
this is nice little app
thanks for sharing
if u can find some way to make this just work when the on screen keyboard is up that would be awesome

I think there is a way. Vibrations in Tweeter are very light, compared to the ones when there is a call or an alarm.
Excellent App, i will watch this development closely as its something id love. For the moment it feels like my Polaris is going to explode when i scroll Sometimes it also misses its "que"
But great work, very impressed.

Idea: Clicking sound when typing on the keyboard or other apps?

I don't know if you guys saw how the Blackberry Storm when you click the keyboard it makes clicking sounds to enable the fact that you clicked each button. I was wondering if something like this is available for our diamond. Never really considered this as a option but after I saw it in use its actually pretty cool.
Thanks

Hehe thanks should have kown better been using win mobile for like 3 years. Oooh well thanks.
Except that enabling the screen tap sound is universal for anytime the screen is touched, which is horribly annoying when panning and scrolling. I would love to see an option where the SIPs (including the dialpad) are modified to click (and preferably vibrate) whenever a soft key is pressed, but not for anything else.

Exactly.
Universal clicking is so annoying and useless.
I second this request!
Hi Keyboard always had typing sounds, and I've gotten used to it.
That's the only thing missing from the great HTC keyboards...
Haptic feedback...
Someone here at XDA is already working on something like this. It's in its very early stages, but sounds like it may be what you're looking for.
Take a look here.
Hope this helps.

Looking for audible clicking, not vibration. The same result as "enable screen taps" but with the application control of this guy's vibrate program. That would be ideal.
Some 3rd party keyboards have an option to turn on clicking sounds.
TouchPal definitely does and it's also the best keyboard I've used.

Thanks for the tip, but I'm in love with the tiny, stylus-necessary "keyboard" layout on my Diamond.
Surely there is a simple reg hack for this?

TouchPal has 3 layouts including full qwerty and it works better than the HTC one, smarter T9, etc.
Otherwise, I'm sure it would be very easy to modify the vibrate software mentioned above so that it makes noise. Worth asking for help from the author.

hd or td2?

hi all,
i would like to ask hd users if it has a haptic feedback or if it vibrates whenever i touch the screen. is it built in? i am thinking of getting either the td2 or hd.
thanks everyone!
It does, but not for every touch you make, only for certain buttons etc.
I've only had a quick go on a Touch Diamond 2, but it felt pretty similar to the HD with a Topaz based ROM installed to me. From what I've seen though the TD2 has been faster than the HD in many benchmarks so if you don't mind the slightly smaller screen then the TD2 might be a better option in the long run, especially with official WM6.5 updates.
true. so if i text using hd it does not vibrate when i press the keys when i text? problem is it is still not available in our country. and i am really eager in getting a new device this weekend! plus the 3.5mm jack cant be ignored. the thing i hate the most with td2 is its back cover which gets scratched easily.
The HD vibrates when you type on the keyboard. Or not. It's up to you since it's a setting of the HTC keyboard.

You can install a free app called TouchResponse which I've attached for your convienience which makes every touch you make vibrate on the HD. Once installed go into its settings and activate it for vibrate response

Go to Settings, Personal, Input and click the Options button (not the options tab).
You've got an option there to 'Vibrate when keys are pressed'.
