I have removed the battery, and the screen rotation tool, but cannot find the reg hack to remove this, any suggestions?
Search the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\WirelessMgr and change the DWORD Keep to 0, soft-reset and voila !!!
Sorry for my bad english ...
Be aware that all you do is hide the icon. The service itself keeps running.
RE
Hey bro,
How do you hide the battery and the screen rotation tool?
Which entries in the registry do I need to alter?
Thanks

Although they are greyed out, you can still enable/disable them by using the Settings menu. You will not get a GUI confirmation that they are on/off though, have to depend on the LED's.
it caused me a problem on the original rom, but on the latest rom it works fine for me to activate using an icon, or as I prefer Fn right arrow
GUI ?
Any idea/ workaround on how to get the GUI confirmation that they are on/off ?

????????????????????????????????????????
Would be nice to know which software you use and which tray you mean.
The easiest way is this:
Start...Settings...Today...Items
Here you can scroll and pick the items you want.
Hope this helped!
if he mean the button bar of the pda
then there is no default way
some programs add icons there
maybe you can search for an application which let the user
add icons there themselfs
Hello everybody!
This is the first thread I open myself, and i'm kind of excited!
Okay, as you can see on the attached image,
on my today-screen, there is some kind of bar that indicates some kind of statuses.
How can I remove this?
It's my TyTN with the original HTC WM6 (due to the lack of a german 6.1..).
Any ideas?
// Sorry for the *.gif's quality, but I'm not used to match the filesize!
I believe you must remove the icons one by one and then the bar will disappear when they are all gone.
From the left:
1) Looks like MyMobiler. Tap that icon and there should be a way to turn off that icon
2) The Activesync connected icon. Go into Settings>Connections>USB to PC and check use advanced functionality and it should go away.
3 and 4) Battery and CommManager icons. Use Schap's advanced config to get rid of those.
this is called "Tray" search for remove Tray or something.
here is an app that will hide those Icons, a simple search of xda took me here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=248968
If this one won't work for you, there are more to choose from, just search "Hide Tray" or "Remove Tray"
Okay,
thanks!
Battery and CommManager have gone away!
But as I'm using WinXP, the advanced netwok features do not work for me!
Try searching now..
I'm sorry, but i thought the upper bar was called the tray; so i didn't try searching for tray.!

If you use BsB Tweaks and enable the option "Windows Settings - Show normal settings in start menu" then the settings icon in the start menu goes back to being the classic settings icon (takes you to "all settings").
Instal BSB Tweaks which has a toggle to turn on the 'real' windows settings in start menu.
I know there's another solution to do this, but i don't know where the folder is located to link it on start menu.
I won't install anything additionally for windows settings
Its not a folder to link, it's a control panel item, and therefore isn't easy to link to like programs are.
DO a google on 'links to control panel items windows mobile'
Are you actually saying that you want the settings icon in the start menu to take you to the same thing you get when you click "all settings" on the settings tab?
If so, a 30 second search of this forum turned up this post...

If that's not what you want then can you please explain better?
