Hello, sorry for opening a new thread, but could not find any solution to my problem. i'm using JF adp1 1.41 ( you are da Man JF ! ) but have not been able so sync my calendar, neither wipe, nor reload of update.zip, nor clear data in application setting has worked sofar. when i select e.g. my calendar from the settings menue i get 'sorry!...select force or wait'.
anybody else has similar probs ?
strangely though that a snc worked with the calendar background application from the market.
could it be that the app is somewhat broken ?
thanks for any help
cheers
/Mario
Everytime I try to sync or add a new calender, the app force closes.
Yep , have exactly the same problem, really irritating and loosing some of core function of the phone.
Actually mine works ok on ADP1.1 .
But it doesn't sync most of the appointments. When I delete the calendar online at Google and import a new calendar, G1 shows some appointments twice. Since October it actually hasn't synced one calendar completely and right.
Really buggy. All I want is my Google Online calendar to be synced correctly with my G1.

Is there any way to get the calendar app to completly disable the "My Calendar" part?
When adding new entries in calendar, i have to manualy chose google calendar each time i add a new event. I want google calendar to be the default calendar. I tried only checking google calendar in settings (unchecked My Calendar), but each time i add an event, i have to manualy chose google calendar even though My Calendar is unchecked in settings
I know its probably not a very big deal for some, but i have set up google calendar to sync with phone and outlook, and chances are, ill forget to chose the google calendar when adding an event on more than one occasion
("My Calendar" wont sync in google calendar, so thats why i have to use google calendar)
Any help would realy be apreciated. Thanks!
(PS: My phone is rooted and im using fw JM2 if that can help in any way)
I agree, this is a big irritation. I keep quickly doing calendar entries and forgetting to select google calendar, then when I check on my desktop the event isn't there. I really hope there is a fix for this.

I agree, the single most annoying part of the phone for me !!! We need a fix either from Samsung or the Dev community. Anyone know how to contact the correct departmen tin Samsung for a fix?
Good to hear it isnt just me who is annoyed of this. When you uncheck "My Calendar" in settings, it should set google to the default choice when adding a new calendar entry.
Hope someone can fix this.

Is there a customization what would allow me to record calendar items which takes place
- once every two weeks?
- Happen the last wednesday of every month?
I find the stock calendar too limiting in this aspect, and wonder if that can be fixed.

What the hell was I thinking. Of course I don't have that much patience.
I tried it and yes! it solves the issue. Calendar entries are saved by default as google calender entries. Thank you... (BTW I did it using this "manual")
I guess the same will work with the standard contact application (same problem there)
Thanks for that info!! I will give it a try as soon as i have some spare time

Im not sure, but if you use Google Calendar sync to sync 2-way between Outlook and gmail, then gmail sync against google calendar on phone i think you can do this if you put the entry into Outlook. (Maybe google online calendar has this function aswell, not sure, the Samsung Calendar does not as you pointed out earlier)
The way to do it would be like this:
Add the entry in Outlook.
Sync against gmail with google calendar sync. (This can be done automaticly on different intervals with Google Calendar Sync)
Sync phone google calendar with "online" google calendar. (This can of course also be set up to be synced automaticly from the phone)
This should in theory work
Please give feedback if you try it.
Hey.
Where is TouchWizCalendar.apk & .odex, TouchWizCalendarProvider.apk & .odex, and InfoAlarm.apk & .odex located?
Nm, found it
/system/app for those else who wonder.
But unfortunatly, there is no com.android.calendar.apk or com.android.provider.calendar.apk in the Manage Applications list. (Even though i filtered with all)
Apperantly this doesnt work in JM2
Other people with JM2 have also reported problems installing the APK`s.

It worked like a charm on JM2 and now on JG5 .... I followed the instruction quite literally. (rebooted between every step etc etc)
Well, i cant uninstall the calendar stuff since it isnt listed in application manager, thats probably why i cant install the apk`s.

that's strange. Maybe it helps to "reinstall" the twcalender apps?

I did something wrong in the guide, i did copy instead of move on the first step, thats why those uninstall options werent showing.
Works now
After I updated to froyo the sync from jorte to google stopped working. When i creat a new event in jorte it never shows up at google calendar. But i can see it in the stock android calendar. creating an event in stock calendar syncs to google ok. Jorte does sync from google calendar.
Tried reinstalling jorte, and also tried clear data in "calendar storage". still same problem..
I have the same problem.
After upgrading to JPC (see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=769400 ) no tasks that are created with an third party app ar synced with Google
I use also some other Apps (Quickaddroid, Log 2 Calendar)
But no Task is synced. After editing with the Stock Calendar the Tasks ar synced but this cant be the Solution
Any Ideas?
Have also tried an Factory Reset and Disk cache wipe but no success.
Problem is froyo beta

So there is no chance to bring it to work with Froyo Beta?
Then i have to flash back and downgrade
It is Mandatory for me that Cal sync with everey app works.
No Workaround known??
Same for me, sigh.
No Workaround known?
has this been fixed yet?
- New events created in Jorte (use google calendar mode) -> not synced to Google calendar, but does show up on stock calendar
- New events created in stock calendar -> sync ok all Jorte, Google cal, Stock cal
- New events created in Google calendar -> show up in Jorte, stock cal
It seems like this problem is quite widespread, but there doesn't seem to be a solution. I'm having the EXACT same problem as described above and have found many similar issues posted on other boards, but no one seems to have an answer.
For the time being, I'm only using Jorte as a calendar viewer and entering events in my stock calendar. A bit of a nuisance, but that's the only way I can ensure everything's synced and showing up everywhere.
Okie dokie, I think I figured it out, at least in my instance of the problem anyway.
It was my task killer. I rarely turn my phone off and hadn't realized that it killed my Accounts & Sync process so when I restarted my phone I made sure to add it to my ignore list and VOILA, problem solved.
Hopefully most everyone else was experiencing the same problem and can fix it this way.
Hi, I tried searching for something like this on xda and I couldn't find anything. On my galaxy s2 the calendar app just doesn't sync with my Google mail account. I go into calendar it asks me to go to he Google account sync setting to sync calendar, even though the tick box for sync calender is checked, I click sync now anyway. After it has finished I go back to the calendar app, and it asks me to do the the same thing again. My contacts and even wallpaper form my old phone were synced propyl from my Google account but not my calendar. I just can't seem to find any reason why it isn't working. I've never had any problems like this before on my old rooted htc desire, where was flashing new roms weekly, so why on my galaxy s2. Would someone be able to help me please?
Just wanted to say I have the same problem, hopefully someone can help us.
I think it might be the Samsung social hub, together with the inability if kies to sync with google, and an assumption that you might want to use kies (or a lack of testing with the google calendar)
Try removing your social hub facebook account, and maybe deleting all the calendar data on the phone (under settings/applications/calander) so long as you are confident you have nothing stored locally without a backup.
I find the social hub facebook integration useless at the moment, since it doesn't hide declined invitations for me, so I'm going back to trying the google integration (which means i get birthdays spamming my calendar instead)

I have never used the Social Hub or Kies or even set any calender events on the phone itself but just clearing the calender data did fix the problem, and my Google calender events started syncing.
Thanks

Hmm.. Didn;t stay working for long for me. Must be time to try a new ROM and see if if got fixed with the last updates.
Had the same problem with litening rom 3.1.
I'm now on cognition 1.31. Problem solved.

Hi, i had the same issue and i am using a uk generic rom unrooted. problem seems to have corrected itself now. Wat seemed to cure it for me was to sync over my mobile network instead of wifi.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
i also had this problem. i fixxed it within checking apps and delete the calendarfiles completely. after this the sync worked. its a problem of google, which have some android users (not only sgs2)
I have been using Hyperdroid for a while, and all is well.
After reading some articles on the new features in ICS, I decided to try a new ROM: Tytungs NexusHD2-ICS-CM9_V1.3.
I resized the partitions, wiped data and cache and installed the ROM (Magldr).
I'm very please with the new features of ICS and all seems to be working find except for my calendar sync: Right after I enter my account details I see a message "unfortunately calendar has stopped". I can still open the calendar app and see all related calenders (I sync 5 calendars) except for my own - the main calendar defined for my own google account. My calendar shows as synced and displayed, but none of the calendar entries show up on the phone.
I was using second factor authentication, so have disabled it before restarting the whole setup procedure. As you guessed the problem still occurs. I don't see why the other calenders still sync as expected, but my own doesn't.
I would really like to continue using ICS, but without a trusted calendar sync I don't see myself doing this.
I've searched the forums, but found no posts about this particular problem - does any know how to solve this??

No, not yet (I would like to try it later to reduce my data usage) first want to get this running.
Funny thing is that the other calendars I'm syncing are on my phone correctly.
One more interesting fact: if I add a new entry on the phone, it appears correctly in my gcal.
Can't see what's happening :$
I tried to sync with Google calendar from Settings/Google account, it says synced but when I go into the default Calendar app and refresh the calendar is still blank with no entries.
Did lot of settings and cleared data under Calendar in Apps and enabled/disabled and re-synced as well but nothing is working. Also followed this but it didnt helped either.
What can be done??
My phone calendar still shows just one test entry I had created.
Rest my phone is working fine.
I thought so too, but I found out that entries are just not marked. For example i have important thing on 09. of february (which i synced with google on my old phone) and it wasn't marked. I tried and tried everything, but the last thing I did is click on that date to realise the event is there and synced, but just not shown in color.
@nri_tech1183 as stated in your link you just need to clear data and cache for Calendar Storage app. Then enter Calendar app and wait a few seconds, all should be fine.
If issue isn't gone try another calendar app to see how it behaves.

I already did that and not a single entry has been reflected/synced to my phones default calendar app.

I had to install Google Kalender first. After that I was able to enable the different calenders that I use in google. Now I have 2 calenders installed. I might just get rid of the Sony calender. One is more that enough...

that's exactly what I did in my all-in-one rom
from my changelog:
Google calendar replacing sony's (can't really get used to sony one, too laggy and slow!! plus to sync my birthdays it requires me to install the Google one first so i think it is time to replace it completely.. )

edit: if interested, to completely get rid of sony calendar you can just delete "SemcCalendar" and "GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter" (not needed for Google Calendar) from /system/app
