[THREAD CLOSED] (20 November 2007) S2U2 v0.86 - back to compatibility

Hey guys,
Just updated to v0.86... if your device was black out while running the old S2U2 version, time for you to test this version now... but take your own risk...
- added option DirectDraw to let S2U2 & Settings run in DirectDraw mode for those devices that cannot run S2U2 probably. But there is still a limitation: they cannot be started in Landscape mode.
1. make sure your device is in Portrait mode
2. create a shortcut for "s2u2 Settings.exe"; add -ddraw command switch (or you may use the installed file "s2u2 Settings(dd).lnk", but it assumes the installed path is \Program Files\S2U2")
3. run it
4. check option "Direct Draw" (at the bottom) is turned on
5. save the settings & run S2U2
- when CallerID is enabled & the screen is locked, after an incoming call finished, the call elapsed time will be displayed for 5 seconds

Just updated to v0.83, mainly reworked the CallerID part & added S2A...
- reworked the CallerID function
- added option Slide2Answer (only effective when CallerID is enabled & the device is locked; to answer the call - slide the green button; to end - press the end button or the power button; to mute - press the volume up/down buttons)
- added command switch -reset for iLock2 to reset the unread counts of SMS, MMS, email & vmail (make sure you know they all should be zero before run it)
- for Korean devices, removed the default SMS patch. To apply the patch, add a registry key KoreanSMSpatch (DWORD) & set it to 1
- some minor bugs fixed
- more FAQs added in the ReadMe.txt

Thank you all for your translation contributions. Here it is another update... v0.81
- added s2u2 Settings.exe for changing the settings of S2U2
- iLock2.exe no longer need to use the notification database
- when the screen is locked, only touch/move the slider will reset the idle time
- added option ACBlankOnTalk (similar to BlankOnTalk, but only effective when connected to external power)
- added the SMS unread count for Korean devices
- the CAB installation will not overwrite the previous settings of S2U2
- some minor bugs fixed

Readme First
READ ME FIRST BEFORE YOU POST YOUR QUESTIONS
S2U2 is a simple lock/unlock application which has the iPhone style slide unlocking. It can be used as a screensaver while you don't use your device. And it's has a CallerID function.
Prerequisition:
- WM5 Phone or WM6 Professional devices
- free RAM: ~ 1M for QVGA; ~ 3M for VGA
Installation:
- If you have Slide2Unlock installed, please uninstall it first & then soft-reset.
- After installation, there are 3 shortcuts created under \Program Files\S2U2:
iLock2.lnk - start/stop ilock2.exe (on the 1st run, it runs silently in the background; on the 2nd run, it closes iLock2 & S2U2)
s2u2.lnk - manually start S2U2 (be sure iLock2 is running in the background, otherwise the Battery status will not be updated).
s2u2 Settings.lnk - change the settings of S2U2.
s2u2 Settings(dd).lnk - change the settings of S2U2, but run in DirectDraw mode.
- A shortcut for iLock2.exe is created automatically under "\Windows\StartUp" as well.
- Installation on Storage Card is not supported (for the sake of stability).
- There are 2 clock font files for selection - clock.zip (default) & clockH.zip. How to use?
1. stop iLock2
2. delete those files under \GFX\Clock (under the installed folder)
3. copy the extracted files to \GFX\Clock
4. start iLock2
- For hi-res devices, please extract files (follow the above steps) from either vclock.zip or vclockH.zip & copy them to \GFX\Clock under the installed path. Otherwise the clock will be shown as half-sized.
- For non-English devices, d/l the S2U2LanguagePack.rar; extract your language's ini file; rename it to lang.ini; copy to the S2U2 installed folder; restart iLock2
Configuration: (in the Registry under \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\A_C\S2U2. Please remember to RESTART iLock2 after any registry settings changed, otherwise it won't work):
- use the "s2u2 Settings.exe" to change the settings.
- Through the lang.ini, the 3 default selections of DateFormat & TimeFormat can be customised. They are s_DefaultDateFormat1~3 & s_DefaultTimeFormat1~3.
- For advanced users, you can edit the registry directly. The default values are added on the first run of iLock2:

- All files under \GFX\ can be modified. To keep the transparent effect of some graphics, the top left corner pixel must be the transparent color.
Command Switch of iLock2:
iLock2.exe accepts the following command switches:
-slide to start/invoke S2U2
-nomsg to not to show any message even it closes itself & S2U2
-refresh to reload the registry settings & restart S2U2
Known limitations & FAQs:
- How to change wallpaper?
- Create a jpg file with resolution the same as your device (QVGA is 240 x 320; VGA is 480 x 640); rename it to "wallpaper.jpg"; copy it to the gfx folder (default is \program files\s2u2\gfx\); restart iLock2. And the file "wallpaperL.jpg" is for the Landscape mode.
- How to edit the registry?
- You need 3rd party software like "Task Manager" & "Total Commander". Try to google them & they are very user friendly apps.
- After changing the registry settings, iLock2/S2U2 do not behave as instructed??
- Pls RESTART iLock2 after any registry settings is made.
- If "Password/Pin Lock" or "Owner Information" are enabled to display at wake up, S2U2 may cause the screen flicker?!
- Pls disable these functions. Besides, it'll break the CallerID function!
- When system notifications come in (e.g. SMS, email or alarm...), S2U2 will be unlocked?!
- Yes, otherwise you will not be notified. But S2U2 will reappear after these notifications are dismissed.
- My device's special Keys are not blocked by S2U2?! (e.g. HTC Touch, the camera key on some devices...)
- This is a device specific problem that cannot be resolved.
- The quality of the CallerID pic is so bad even the original photo is in high quality?!
- DO NOT use the system contact to add photo to a contact. Use other s/w like Inesoft Address Book or PocketCM to do so.
- How to mute an incoming call when CallerID is enable?
- PRESS the volume up/down keys.
- After soft-reset, the first call's callerID is not shown sometimes?
- It's an OS issue, no solution yet.
- How to restore the system caller tab?
- set CallerID to 0 or uninstall S2U2, then soft-reset.
- Some keys are not blocked?
- Please check if you have installed any key mapping s/w that will break S2U2.
- My device shows a blank/black screen on start? (SX66, Xda IIs (Blue Angel / Himalaya))
- It's not compatible with S2U2. It's a h/w problem. Try to turn on the DirectDraw option:
1. make sure your device is in Portrait mode
2. create a shortcut for "s2u2 Settings.exe"; add -ddraw command switch (or you may use the installed file "s2u2 Settings(dd).lnk", but it assumes the installed path is \Program Files\S2U2")
3. run it
4. check option "Direct Draw" (at the bottom) is turned on

- Some of my scheduled tasks did not run as schedule, but it'll start when manually turn on the device?
- Try to set OffLCD longer (17 seconds or more).
- Some of my device's background jobs (like email sync or bluetooth connection) stopped unexpectedly when S2U2 is running?
- Try to enable NoPowerSuspend.
- NOT Compatible s/w: AEButton, WA3, RealVGA
Trouble shooting:
If you find your device is hang with a blank screen or no response with any key or screen-touch, you may not need to reset it. Please follow these steps if your device has a camera button:
- press the camera button to invoke the built-in camera program
- press the end call button to go back to Today screen
- use Task Manager (a third party freeware; highly recommended) to close the S2U2.EXE

I have the same problem too. I can't seem to start S2U2. I am using o2 Atom black with WM5

App closes itself down automatically upon launch (s2u2.exe), does not matter if the config was edited or not...
Safe mode feature does not help in this case.

Looks like we do have a bug on our hands...
Soft-resets didn't work. Overwrite installation didn't work either. So something has to be wrong with... something about it (I'm no programmer...)

This app contains a bug and closes itself down upon launch, it was mentioned in the posts above yours. Waiting for A_C to report it...
Also it is incompatible with Real VGA (that might be your problem).

It's always been incompatible with RealVGA. I've used S2U2 since the beginning, never using Real. And that first post about the bug--

Well, it took me a couple of days, but I've finally been able to get a working 4-sided cube! Here's a screenshot and the details.

Basically what this CAB will do is:
- create an APLauncher2.exe in your Windows directory
- create an APLauncher2 folder in your registry
- install the Blank Cube animation provided by storyr
- Create another 8 button App launcher (fourth side) to the HTC Cube that will appear after the first App Launcher
This will NOT:
-change your Media Hub icons or Registry Values
-change your Quick Dial icons or registry values
-change you App Launcher icons or registry values
In the second App Launcher some buttons are assigned, some are not. To assign them you must edit their registry values (which is why I say you should have a basic knowledge of Cube registry editing to install this)
1. WM Player
2. Not Assigned ( I don't have opera mobile installed)
3. Not Assigned
4. Not Assigned
5. FR Notepad
6. Not Assigned
7. HTC Home Customizer
8. Not Assigned

The text flashes when you press the button, but that is all. Other than that it works perfectly!
This is a big CAB because it replaces all of the animations for your Cube as well as adding a new side.

Nice. i'll try it out.

ok I loaded this app and it is working fine, how do I change the registory to the program I want to launch. I know how to change settings in the registory but I don't know what values. Like if I want to launch a golf game instead of opera, can I do that and where do I get the values for the new registory entry. And thern I have to change the icon in the (pic) file for the 4th side, what program would I use.
I hope I at least have the concept straight, if the info is posted in other forums, like for the wizard or hermes....... can I follow those instructions or should I stick to what I see here?

to change the programs, the registry values are
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Software>HTC>Biotouch>APLauncher2>App0 -App7>Path
change the value of path to the location of the program. For example, for the button to open GoogleMaps, the path value would be "\Program Files\GoogleMaps\GoogleMaps.exe" without the quotes.
to edit the background (D0.brn), search this forum for BMP to brn convert. convert the brn to a bmp and then edit it, convert it back to a brn and put it in your \Windows folder on your device.

I used Cube Configuration Tool from thisguyinoc's and you can find it in the forums or at ppcgeeks.com Its a cap and it gives me the option 6 side cube option and it also makes it easy to set your applications anywhere you want to include the 3 app side. You can set your own icons or you can get some from this site..

Just a minor update of S2U2 to v0.99p... (pls note the on-screen version no is still v0.99)
- added support to S2P (Slide2Play) - does not suspend the system when S2P is running.
- fixed a possible system hang up when an incoming call arrives after the device has been sleept for a long while.
- some minor bugs fixed.

- added a default unknown caller pic (to disable it, delete the unknown.png under \GFX\).
- the ExceptionEXE0-9 only effective when the exception application is running in the foreground.

Have you finished your testing with S2U2? Another one is coming... v0.96...
- added option GifEndless to allow endless playback of GIF wallpaper (be warned to charge your device).
- added option not to override the animation speed of GIF wallpaper by turning off the GifSpeed.

- hard coded some devices not to use DirectDraw. If your device's screen goes black after DirectDraw is enabled, follow these steps:
1. pretend there is a slider on the screen; try to slide to unlock
2. stop iLock2
3. there is a iLock2.log file created under the S2U2 installed path (e.g. \Program Files\S2U2\); post it to the xda forum, I'll black list this device not to use DirectDraw in the next release
4. edit the registry; go to \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\A_C\S2U2; set DirectDraw to 0
5. run iLock2 & S2U2
- fixed the GIF playback will continue after the device wakes up.
- fixed the issue of showing blurred over-sized Wallpapers.
- fixed when S2A is enabled, the Answer key was not locked on some devices.
- fixed sometimes the weather info would not be updated for HTC Weather.
- changed some wordings of "s2u2 Settings.exe".
- some bugs fixed.

I'm quite excited about this release. Not only because a lot of features are added, it now can read ARGB PNG format graphic files. Meaning that you can tailor S2U2 even further through different level of opacities, and I'm expecting more themes from you guys in the near future.

Readme First
Installation:
- If you have Slide2Unlock installed, please uninstall it first & then soft-reset.
- After installation, there are 3 shortcuts created under \Program Files\S2U2:
iLock2.lnk - start/stop ilock2.exe (on the 1st run, it runs silently in the background; on the 2nd run, it closes iLock2 & S2U2)
s2u2.lnk - manually start S2U2 (be sure iLock2 is running in the background, otherwise the Battery status will not be updated).
s2u2 Settings.lnk - change the settings of S2U2.
- A shortcut for iLock2.exe is created automatically under "\Windows\StartUp" as well.
- Installation on Storage Card is not recommended for the sake of stability.
- For hi-res devices, d/l the S2U2ClockPack.rar & follow the steps in the ClockReadme.txt. Otherwise the clock will be shown as half-sized.
- For additional clock fonts, d/l the S2U2ClockPack.rar & follow the steps in the ClockReadme.txt.
- For non-English devices, d/l the S2U2LanguagePack.rar; extract your language's ini file; rename it to lang.ini; copy to the S2U2 installed folder; restart iLock2.
Configuration: (in the Registry under \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\A_C\S2U2. Please remember to RESTART iLock2 after any registry settings changed, otherwise it won't work):
- Use the "s2u2 Settings.exe" to change the settings.
- Through the lang.ini, the default values of DateFormat, TimeFormat, AppointmentTimeFormat, PhoneNoFormat, Wallpaper(Protrait & Landscape) & ClockPath can be customised. They are s_DefaultDateFormat, s_DefaultTimeFormat, s_DefaultAptTimeFormat, s_DefaultPhoneNoFormat, s_DefaultWallpaper(L) & s_DefaultClockPath.

- All files under \GFX\ can be modified. To keep the transparent effect of some graphics, the top left corner pixel must be the transparent color; or use the ARGB PNG format.
Command Switch of iLock2:
iLock2.exe accepts the following command switches:
-slide to start/invoke S2U2
-nomsg to not to show any message even it closes itself & S2U2
-refresh to reload the registry settings & restart S2U2
-reset to reset the unread counts of SMS, MMS, email & vmail

A. No.

Q. My device shows a blank/black screen when run S2U2 or "s2u2 Settings"?

A. Create a jpg file with resolution the same as your device (QVGA is 240 x 320; VGA is 480 x 640); rename it to "wallpaper.jpg"; copy it to the gfx folder (default is \program files\s2u2\gfx\); restart iLock2. And the file "wallpaperL.jpg" is for the Landscape mode.
Q. How to edit the registry?
A. You need 3rd party software like "Task Manager" & "Total Commander". Try to google them & they are very user friendly apps.
Q. After changing the registry settings, iLock2/S2U2 do not behave as instructed??
A. Pls RESTART iLock2 after any registry settings is made.
Q. S2U2 always run unexpectedly?
A. Try to disable the IdleStart.
Q. S2U2 does not start automatically?
A. Check if there is any applications which are included in the ExceptionEXE list are running in the foreground.
Q. S2U2 consumes a lot of power?!
A. Make sure there is no music player s/w running in the background.
Q. If "Password/Pin Lock" or "Owner Information" are enabled to display at wake up, S2U2 may go ALL BLACK?!
A. Tap the screen to refresh the screen.
Q. When system notifications come in (e.g. SMS, email or alarm...), S2U2 will be unlocked with a black background?!
A. Yes, otherwise you will not be notified. But S2U2 will reappear after these notifications are dismissed.
Q. S2U2 shows the wrong no. of unread SMS/MMS/email/vmail?!
A. It's a device specific problem. You may reset these counts by:
1. stop iLock2
2. run iLock2 -reset
3. start iLock2
Q. My device's special Keys are not blocked by S2U2?! (e.g. HTC Touch, the camera key on some devices...)
A. This is a device specific problem that cannot be resolved.
Q. The quality of the CallerID pic is so bad even the original photo is in high quality?!
A. DO NOT use the system contact to add photo to a contact. Use S2V or PocketCM to do so.
Q. How to mute an incoming call when CallerID is enable?
A. PRESS the volume up/down keys.
Q. After soft-reset, the first call's callerID is not shown sometimes?
A. It's an OS issue, no solution yet.
Q. How to restore the system caller tab?
A. Set CallerID to 0 or uninstall S2U2, then soft-reset.
Q. Even CallerID is enabled, the system callerid is still there when a call is incoming?!
A. That's a device specific problem that is no solution yet. DO NOT enable the CallerID then.
Q. What is S2AEndKey?
A. When S2A is enabled & the screen is locked, the only way to reject an incoming call is by pressing the Power button. But if S2AEndKey is turned on, you may reject a call by pressing the End key as well.
Q. Some keys are not blocked?
A. Please check if you have installed any key mapping s/w that will break S2U2.

Q. My GIF file does not shown?
A. Currently, there seems to be a limitation to the size of the GIF file. Sometimes, even your device has enough free RAM, it still cannot be shown. Recommended to reduce the dimension (not the file size) & no. of frames of the GIF, then try again.
Q. The GIF animation stopped after a certain period?
A. Turn on the GifEndless option.
Q. I've set up a folder of GIF files & set the Wallpaper point to that folder, but S2U2 shows nothing?
A. Wallpaper(L) folder only supports JPG files.
Q. When ShowWeather set to HTC Weather, it does not show any icon?
A. You're probably running a custom-made HTC Home plugin. Try to figure out where the plugin is installed (e.g. \HTCHome\), then copy all HH_Weather_XXsmall.png files to \Windows\. Restart iLock2.
Q. There is no registry key called UserWeather in my device?
A. Create it (as STRING) by yourself.
Q. How to make use of UserWeather?
A. You have to manually update the registry key UserWeather (STRING) under \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\A_C\S2U2. The format is "icon|index|high temp|low temp" where icon is S, P or W (Spb Weather, Pocket Weather or Weather Panel).

Q. Why there is no current weather info shown?
A. Because S2U2 only shows TODAY's FORECAST info from other weather applications.
Q. When getting temperature (in Celsius) from HTC, there is always 1 degree discrepancy?
A. That's the bug of HTC when converting the readings from Fahrenheit to Celsius.

Can you explain me, what S2AEndKey does?
I expected, that it makes that the red phone button has no function while S2U2 is running.
I tried it with holding the button. Usually this should disconnect the GPRS connection. It doesn't matter, what value it has (1 or 0) but the button disconntects GPRS all the time.
Has the S2AEndKey an other function or did something went wrong?

I get a black screen, then when I power the device off then back on, I get the proper image (whether it be s2u2 or the settings) but there is no response to screen taps or hardware buttons. I had the previous version of s2u2 working perfectly and uninstalled it prior to the new installation, I also soft reseted. im using a sprint vogue btw

Also getting the problem on the HTC (Sprint) Mogul. It looks like it's hanging, but I can still slide it (just the animation never changes).

its a problemwith direct Draw I had the same issue. simply uninstall it. remove the directory. remove the registry enteries and reinstall and dont turn on direct draw.

I just turned off the directdraw in the registry and restarted ilock2, works again. Guess direct draw is enabled by default this time.

Instructions:
1) Download and install the latest version of Homescreen++! The theme won't work with BatteryStatus!
2) Extract the archive you downloaded (Wheee_v2.71.rar). Copy the "Wheee" folder and the "Wheee.xml" & "Wheee (lite edition).xml" files to your Homescreen++ directory. Open the "Storage Card" folder, and copy the "Wheee" folder you find there to your Storage Card.
3) Customize your skin. Sadly, it is not very easy to customize HS++ skins, but I have tried to make it a little easier. Open the Wheee.xml file with any text editor, and after the lines where you see "EDIT:", edit the paths to programs or plugins with the ones you want. You also have to set up a weather plugin - I use WeatherPanel with the Diamond skin by Rumball (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=401781), I will make a Sticker skin for WeatherPanel too when I find some time. Customizing the Lite Edition of the skin is much easier, you only need to change 2-3 paths.
4a) If you want the full Wheee! theme, enable HS++ as the only Today item, go into HS++ settings and choose the Wheee theme, you're done! Also remember to check all the "extra" indicators in HS++ settings.

4b) For the Lite Edition of the theme, go into HS++ settings and choose the Wheee (lite edition) theme. Remember again to check all the "extra" indicators for HS++, and use HomeScreen++ in the Home tab of your UltimateLaunch setup. You're done!

Super sorry to all people that PMed me about the theme, I didn't notice I had messages until today.
Here's a screenshot of the theme again:
And I'll try to give some instructions, but I don't think it's going to be very easy as I'm not good at explaining and the skins were made for my phone, so you will have to change some things. Anyway!
First, download the awesome Sticker icons pack from IconFactory. It's what inspired me to make the skin, many thanks to the icon creator! You can get it here: http://iconfactory.com/search/?q=Sticker
Then, to get the skin looking like my screenshot, you need to hide the softkeys. This worked for me, credits to original programmer: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=392804
It's not 100% needed for the skin, but I also advise you to at least get the "Segoe UI" font. I am not allowed to post it here, but search for it on Google or some torrent site, I'm sure you will find it easily. Then copy it to Windows\Fonts on your device, and soft reset. There's an excellent guide somewhere on the forum on how to make it the system skin (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1730428&postcount=21).
Then, install my BatteryStatus theme (attached below). Just unzip the archive, and copy the folder and the xml files to your BatterStatus folder. Then go to BS Options, Advanced and choose the "Wheee" Theme-File. Also, you should UNcheck "show wifi-rows", no space for that. Go to the "TrayLaunch" tab and uncheck "TrayLaunch" too.
You might have to make some changes to the xml file for the skin to fully work on your pc. For example, my alarm program is pTravelAlarm, installed in the storage card, and the path is hard-coded into the XML. Change it to your alarm program exe. Same with setVolume - I have installed it on the storage card, change the path to what you like.
Then the Ultimate Launch settings. I can't post a file here (I don't think I can export them), but here are the settings I use:
Display tab: Margins: 2 Pixel, Fixed plugin-height: checked, 271 Pixel, colorize background: color 0, blurring 2, tab headers position: bottom.
Animation tab: Slide Animation: Slide, Click Animation: Slide, Animation Duration: 300 msec.
Headers tab: Height: 50 Pixel, Show grid: UNchecked, Inactive tabs transparent: UNchecked, blurring of inactive tabs: Low.
Behavior tab: Return to start tab: checked, after 1 minutes.
XP-Icon options tab: Size: 48 Pixel.
Then,
Tabs, uh, tab: Create a new tab "Combination of tabs", with the icon for "Home" and no name. Check "Open tab on startup". Inside that tab, create a "Today-plugin" tab named "Home", and choose the BatteryStatus plugin. Also create a shortcuts-tab named whatever you want, and in it: create a "Margin", with the options: Line break UNchecked, Horizontal: 30 Pixel, Vertical: 0 Pixel. Then, create an "Application Launcher", with XP-Icon of your choice (this is the little dinosaur that announces the missed calls / SMS!) and set the "Command" to: \Windows\tmail.exe and the "Parameter" to: -service "SMS". Go to "Display", and choose: "Item Alignment": Left. Click ok/ok/ok to get back to the main UltimateLaunch settings, and add any other tabs you'd like (programs, weather plugin, etc etc).
EDIT, 2/7/2008: As it seems most people want the bluetooth and wifi icons to toggle bt/wifi on click, there's an updated Wheee.xml file that does that in post #55!

Yes, I'll do it sooner or later, but for now don't wanna start messing with Wisbar. Maybe I'll just change it to something different than black. What I want is to completely hide or skin it though. Thanks for the idea!

The missed calls and unread sms are displayed by BatteryStatus. If you don't have any missed stuff, it will show nothing! Try sending an SMS to your mobile, or calling and not answering, the correct bubble should appear.
The bluetooth and wifi are just indicators, but that's a personal preference (it's hard to click them with thumb), you can turn them into buttons very easily. Just edit Wheee.xml with Notepad, scroll to the bottom, find the line:

and change it to this:

Same for Bluetooth a little further, but ontap="ToggleBluetooth". Should work!
Also, here are some Bluetooth / WIFI icons I made if you want to set up a Settings panel for UltimateLaunch. I only created them in 48x48 size though. Wifi antenna is taken from DeviantArt, I stuck it onto a sticker button.
(You have to download the .ico files to make these work with UltimateLaunch)

I'll change the Toggle wifi and Bluetooth, but anyway, I didn't get it on the screen...same for missing calls/sms, I didn't get it..(and as you can see in the top bar, I have some...)

Aaah, I see what is wrong now. Click and hold on the clock, select "Show Rows" and make sure all the rows are checked, especially "Messages".
The dinosaur is not on the background, it's an UltimateLaunch button. You can click on it, and it opens your SMS.
About Bluetooth and WiFi, I don't know because I haven't tried that on my mobile. I'll try it and tell you.
If you want to get back to your old home screen, it's easy, just select your old BatteryStatus theme or go to the Settings menu and un-select UltimateLaunch.
About toggling profiles: if you have SetVolume installed, find this line on the XML:
<Item class="registry_tracker" ontap="StartApp" path="Storage Card\Program Files\SetVolume\SetVolume.exe">
And change the path to where you have SetVolume installed. When you click on the "pink half-ball" SetVolume will launch.
Ah, also, forgot to mention it before, but if you want the skin to be useful, you should assign some gestures too. For example, I have no button for contacts, so I have set as a "downwards" gesture in the first UltimateLaunch tab to open iContact. Same for the second tab, it launches "All Programs".
edit: ALSO, one addition to the UltimateLaunch instructions! Open the settings, and on the tab with the dinosaur, go to Display. "Item Alignment" should be LEFT! Sorry, I forgot that before, so many settings for UL

Screen problem: you have not removed the softkey bar... That's why there is not enough space for the screen setup. Refer to the first post if you want to remove the softkeys, or if you don't want to remove them: play a little with UltimateLaunch options (especially "Display" in general settings, and "Display" for the dinosaur sub-tab). Also, have you added a "Margin" before the dinosaur in the dinosaur tab? Should be 30 pixels horizontal, no line break.
About the dinosaur link not working. Maybe it's because your Windows are french? What's the tmail.exe location, should be \Windows\tmail.exe, try removing the "parameter" from the dinosaur button and if that opens up your Outlook we'll see from there.

in fact, I didn't remove the softbar, but even when I did, it was like this
yes I add the margin, but 25, now I recognize what is the goal of this margin, I'll adjust it...
for the tmail, is it the same location in french , without any parameter, i open the windows where I have to look. I'll change the link to make it open pocketcm
and last but not least, didn't try to change the font for the moment...

No need to change it! Just add the font to your "Windows\Fonts" directory and soft-reset. Nothing will change for system fonts, but the SMS and call messages (for my BatteryStatus skin) will be in that font, and will look nicer.
Try playing with the fixed plugin-height value too in UL settings, lower it and see what happens. Damn, I wish UL had an export theme feature!
Last, tmail.exe -service "SMS" works for me... dunno what you need to change for that. Since you use PocketCM, it's ok I guess.

I play with fixed height, but also top / bottom and left / right margin to move the dinosaur, and the bottom tab-header
and link to pocketcm is great

You can download ANY version you like BUT:
a. put ALL the ICON files in \Storage Card\Program Files\Manila WP Icons\
b. put the THEME files in \Program Files\MarsWare\WeatherPanel\Themes\Manila
c. a quick note: if you want the 5 day forcast setup i have, rename the Manila.wpl to something else
and then change the file name: Manila-TL-5day.wpl to Manila.wpl
d. i also included a reg file in your \storage card\my documents folder.
incase your weatherpanel setup gets screwed and you start seeing small icons just run the reg file.
8. INSTALL nir36 ULDSetup.cab AND RESET YOUR DEVICE!

9. you will see the WRONG rlToday skin so click and hold on the rlToday skin and choose the Diamond skin
10. In the contacts page you will see 12 contact pictures. you need to switch them with 54x72 icons of your contacts
you should use Any2Icon (http://www.aha-soft.com/anytoicon/any2icon.exe) to convert pictures to .ico files to put in
\Storage Card\My Documents\Icons\ContactIcons. Make SURE these icons are named exactly as the icons in this dir.
11. now i need feedback on this.
i put some strings in the registry which are supposed to set Cal+ to show only 1 appointment for the Home Page.
if it works, you won't have to touch it. if not..click and hold the Calendar+ today item in the Home page and choose
to view 1 APPOINTMENT. please let me know if the reg file works automatically so i can delete this section.

if you click the left side of the clock in the homepage you will get the clock settings
if you click the right side of the clock you will get ThumbCal.
if you click the date in the homepage you will create a new task in thumbcal

4. now LAST AND NOT LEAST, go to Start/Settings/Today and choose ClassicBlackDiamond.tsk as your today theme.
5. REMEMBER that you will have to modify the icons and the applications according to your preference. let me know if you need help.
(After everything's done, you will have to edit (either through the UltimateLaunch.ini file or straight through
ultimatelaunch's setup) the phone numbers for the Contacts' Page to fit the numbers you desire).

vjtoggletoday lets you hide your softkeys.. your systray and your taskbar.
you HAVE to use it for this skin.. otherwise you won't have enough room for everything.
(you can obviously not use it and change my ini file as well).
to use the registry file you need:

what you need to do is:
- install o2plus2.3.cab
- put the ini file in your UL directory
- extract the Diamond-NoSMSorMC.rar file into your rlToday directory and in the rlToday options choose the "daemon" skin. (there is a font ttf file included in this rar file, you're invited to put it in your /windows/fonts dir).

EDIT: in the original version of the Diamond Clock for rlToday (which is included with the rar in this post), nothing happens when you click the clock. i edited the XML file which is supposed to go to the /program files/rltoday/daemon folder so that when you click it you can change clock settings. this is important for any of you who uses the alarms. (i use it on a daily basis).
what you need to do is switch the skin.xml file in the /program files/rltoday/daemon folder with the xml provided.

A few changes
- Moved HomePage o2plus and SMS/MMS today plugins to the middle of the screen.
- Changed the rlToday XML to open Clock when left side of clock is clicked and to open Tasks (for those of you who use it a lot like me), when the right side of the clock is clicked.
- Changed the WeatherPanel WPD WPX WPL files to show the fonts in a nicer more centered way and not to be thrown out of the screen.
- Changed one of the icons in the programs section to the calculator instead of thumbcal (which is run by an upwards gesture on the calendar screen).
- Added a margin to the Internet screen so that the icons are detached from the upper part of the screen (easily clicked).

Enhancments:
i took James Kuang's (thank you james) rlToday skin (found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=409370) and altered it a bit.. to look.. different (changed the XML to show different fonts, edited the clock background in photoshop to be white... yada yada)
a little lighter and fitting with my UltimateLaunch settings.
What you need to do to get that is download the rar file given here, install VJphoneshortcuts from the rar file, and put the Diamond folder in your rlToday folder in program files. then, choose Diamond as the skin in rlToday instead of the old one. (install VJphoneshortcuts on your DEVICE).
whoever took my last advice and installed o2plus - uninstall it now. i included the same setup within the rlToday skin.
also, when clicking the date on the upper right side, it brings up Thumbcal.. and the other settings are still on. clicking the left side of the clock brings up the clock setting and the right side brings up Tasks.
when clicking the number of sms's or the pic next to it, it loads "Messaging"
when clicking the number of missed calls or the pic next to it, it loads "Call History" (you must install VJphoneshortcuts for the missed calls shortcut to work).

This is my current setup (without the Contacts Page .. it is still the same and is shows on the first page of this thread):
Changes:
- removed tray so that there's more room
- HomePage: Brought back the Next Appointment Bar in rlToday skin
- HomePage: clicking on the right side of the clock brings up ThumbCal Tasks
- HomePage: clicking on the date brings up Thumbcal New Task
- Clicking on the Next Appointment bar brings up Thumbcal Today
- Added margins to some of the tabs
- Programs Page: S2P icon replaced with RegEdit since S2P runs using upwards gesture in HomePage
- Calendar+ Page: Upwards gesture brings up Thumbcal 1.0.6 Monthly/Weekly view
- Internet Page: 2 New icons - Wifi Available Networks and Bluetooth Settings. (NOTICE bluetooth button in homepage is for moBlue2.1 while in Internet Page it's for Bluetooth Settings)

6. for the dialer, install 2G Htc Dialer.cab and poorlyduck diamond dialer.cab
7. icontact 1.01 is supplied
I must remind you again that not all applications are included in this setup. for instance, i run iGO8, iContact, Enable/Disable Bluetooth/Wifi and Quit using HButton (it is included in the first page of this thread as part of the main setup).

I am trying to get this to work on my Polaris and am installing your setup a bit at a time. One question though is I have 2 soft keys at the bottom of my today screen. This causes a vertical scroll bar to appear on the right of the screen and ruins the overall effect.
Is there a particular part of your installation that removes these soft keys? I have previously tried the program dciNoBar which is supposed to do this, but it does not function correctly with my ROM.
Do you have any suggestions?

putting the file vjtoggletodayalphaII in your startup menu and applying the supplied registry file for it will remove the softkeys.

Does not work on the newest builds cant get the softkeys hidden.
EDIT:: after replacing some system files got it working really nice ground work got some more editing to do but major props nir would u mind if I used it in a couple roms?

I have it working after a fashion, but there is a wasted black bar of space that I can't seem to use above and below what ever is on the Today page. The softkeys have gone though
