Hi from a noob!!!!

Just thought i'd say hi, i'm an Android virgin just swapping from an Iphone that bored me......ordered my Note on saturday so expecting in 3 to 5 days according to Phones4u!!!
Really like the site already so much information, hoping that the Note can live up to my expectations and reading some of the comments on here it will!!
hahaha
Welcome
Goodbye boredom
Welcome.
An excellent reason to switch.
Why hang with turkeys when you can fly with eagles.
Hopefully you won't become a flash junkie and spend every night dowloading and installing new and better roms.
(like I did)
becoz size is matter ! lol
Just got the note delivered 2-3 hours ago. My first Android phone, was using SE P990 and Xperia X1 the last 3-4 years.
I fill completely lost havent even played with android before.
I will be asking noob questions in this thread
Mate you lucky you got yours, i have now been told by phones4u that orange won't honour the upgrade package they offered me so i am back to square one trying to get my note!!!
Good news, Orange are allowing the upgrade so i get my Note tomorrow, can't wait to have a look and explore the beast........
Welcome my brother.
i was like you too once i had every iphones/ ipads model. my first android device was the galaxy tab 7'' and after that i never look back at another iphone again, i don't think i will ever again. i still have 3 ipads that my kids play with, can't wait to get the note.
You won't be disappointed. Had my note just over a week and it keeps getting better. Just be warned once your eyes adjust to the big screen. Every other phone looks really small lol

There's much more you can do with bigger screen. Even if you crank the hardware to 3GHz quad core and 32GB of RAM, there's so much you can do on small screen. It's like installing a V6 sports engine on a city car and expect it to be able to run stable at 200 mph
Recieved my note today and i have to say I LOVE IT!!!
The screen is great and its not to big to hold no way not even in calls, i have experienced zero lag and the battery is great!
i can't put it down and don't get me started on android, i love it really do so if your thinking about getting it don't just get it...........FANTASTIC PHABLET!!!

Samsung Galaxy Note user from Malaysia
Hi there too, I'm also new in using Samsung product. Been using iPhone 4 for the pass year then a month ago using the Samsung Galaxy S2 traded it with iPhone 4. But it didn't last longer cause now I'm letting go of my Samsung Galaxy S2 and got myself the brand new Samsung Galaxy Note!
Nice to meet you guys here and hope to learn few things while I'm here.

Sold my HD2

Hi guys, some of you may know me as 'The guy who made the videos for those ROMs' but, basically my name is Joe, and I used to make videos reviewing ROMs for developers on YouTube. I sold my HD2 last week and it feels like the end of an era. I just brought a Galaxy S2.
Here is my YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/RandomSklar?feature=mhee
Should I continue this series with the GS2?

I too recently upgraded from the HD2 to the S2, and I'm lovin' it.
My vote is a resounding, "YES, PLEASE!!". I'd be thrilled to see some of your vids for the S2!
I recommended SII to a friend because he was looking to change from Iphone. He got it and was quite happy with his phone until he realised he can't have dual booting WP7 and Android, like I do on my HD2... So now he is somewhat envious of my phone and what it can do.
Just wondering what price you got for your HD2. What condition was it in and what ROM did you sell it with? My HD2 is retired but I still have it. It has a few dents and scratches and I have tytungs ICS Beta9 ROM on it. What should I expect for it?
How sad guess it's all going to go that way soon

sorry for the late reply. I got £120 for it in good condition, but I reverted it to the stock ROM before sending because people like to think they got it as new when you sell them a used phone
advertise on the used category on amazon to get the best price. don't do ebay because they go for around 90 pounds average.

I'm Back

Hi guys,
I'm coming back soon im about to buy a new HD2 and i can't believe i am back i missed everyone so much so what have the developments been like since i was gone? I can't believe i broke my phone just as i first released ics for are hd2s and started fixing stuff. Missed you guys
BETTER catch up because development has gone to great lengths since you left..

Had an upgrade yesterday. Will miss this forum. :(

So yesterday I somehow managed to get money to buy an Xperia S by selling my Arc S because it was giving me a lot of problems. Like weird battery and stuff. Well I must say I'm loving this phone so far. Its not much different from our Arc S but the speed in ICS is quite visible.

[Q] But is it any good long term?

Hi all,
I've read the reviews for this, I've watched the youtube unboxings and more reviews and they all seem positive.
But can you people that have one and have been using it for a while say how good it is after the glow of it arriving is?
Is the build quality ok (it's not an iPhone or an HTC, I get that), but in it's range does it ware well and work reliably on a day to day biases? I guess I'd be flashing it with a custom rom, but not sure which yet..
Now it's dropped in price to £99 (about 140US) it appears to be an amazing bit of kit (I'm looking at the Sanpdragon quad core version of the phone here; http://www.1949deal.com/xiaomi-redm...ram-8gb-rom-5-5-inch-hd-ips-screen-white.html)
Thanks for any feedback...

Definitely a good buy in its price range. I have been using the 4G version since a week now, and I must admit. I love it!!
I have been using the MIUI 6 developer rom and its good. The only thing that bother me is the size well I cant complain bout size coz its a NOTE and is meant to be large
I also have the 4G version. Honestly one of the best phones I've owned and that's not taking the price into consideration. Has a nice solid build and MIUI V6 is surprisingly nice. I love my OnePlus One and the Note 4G is a close 2nd.
