Hi,
I would appreciate any help on getting a CSD data call established on the HTC Touch Diamond (WM 6.1 Pro).
I am able to initiate a call from the device (to a DoPod with WM 6.0), but the call does not seem to be established properly. From my debugging output, I can see the DoPod transmitting data, but the Diamond is not receiving or transmitting anything.
When I try to make a CSD data call to the Diamond, the device does not even detect any incoming call.
I can setup and get data flowing between the DoPod and HTC Touch (WM 6.0). But the HTC Touch Diamond doesn't work properly.
I hope it's not due to WM 6.1 not being able to complete the CSD Data call properly. All these devices have network connection settings available for "CSD Line Type" to change parameters like data rate and connection element.
Thank you for any tips that you can offer.

Hi, can anyone tell me if its possible to do a gprs dial via TAPI without using the connection manager on the i-mate PDA2K ?, I am developing a piece of software that needs full control of the dial process, GSM is not a problem and this is working succesfully using the virtual COM9 comm port once connected. GPRS however is a different story. I can find no way of configuring the APN via TAPI (I'm sure there is a way, I just haven't found it yet!). All attempts to do a GPRS dial by TAPI result in a succesful return from linemakecall but in reality does nothing, no dial, no connection made.
I have made a GPRS connection using the internal modem COM2 succesfully with AT commands but had to silence the RIL layer first, this has the unfortunate side effect of disconnecting the phone software so that incoming calls are missed, this is not acceptable for my aplpication.
Any thoughts/suggestiong greatfully received ....
cheers,
Dave
Hope somebody can help with a strange problem I have.
I have an i-Mate PDA2K although it is a phone I prefer to use my K750i as it's better.
I need to use the PDA with GPRS for traffic updates (Tomtom) from my K750i
All the settings (orange uk) gave me allow the connection to work but only if I use the IRDA connection.
Although the PDA is paired to the K750i if I select Bluetooth modem as the connection it does not even try to talk to the K750i, i.e does not wake the phone. (Bluetooth is enabled and K750i set as visible, allways allow set for the PDA connection)
I gave IRDA a go and it works fine but IRDA in the car is not a good solution.
Any help much appreciated.

Also, make sure the Tomtom is DIALING not trying to GPRS sharing request... DIAL with the Tomtom using the K750i as a "modem" and use the number most often *99#, I personally used a little longer one like *99###1## to get mine, but I'm US and I'm not sure if it's just my phone or the service, whatever. Play around with using "Dialup via Bluetooth" for your connection and see if you can't get your connection working that way. For the K750i (I have one myself), I know for a fact GPRS linking does not work without this number, either in a script autodialing it, like the scripts provided on that website, or by manual dial. So have fun.
Thanks for the reply does not work for me I am affraid
I use *99***1# and in the advanced extra dial string z; +cgdcont=1,"IP","orangeinternet"
Tried using as yours nothing either
If I select Bluetoth dial up fails unknown reason
If I just change to IRDA with the above settings it works
Sorry it didn't help.
Is there a way I can disable the GPRS on my HTC TyTN? I would like to use the WiFi I have at home sometimes and it just automatically use the 3G, GPRS setting...especially with Internet Explorer which is on the phone.
Any help is appreciated...thanks!
I'm having this problem too. Whenever Wifi and GPRS are both active, it always defaults to GPRS. I cannot get it to recognise the Wifi connection under any circumstances.
I have an Orange SPV M3100 (HTC Hermes) with Windows Mobile 6.
sorry for my english first. if you use the automatic set up connection GPRS for your operator ; the wifi doesn't work.
You must do a hard reset and configure the GPRS connection manual.
Then the wifi works.
I've done this. I had to input my operators settings when I upgraded to Windows Mobile 6. It still doesn't work.
Hi all,
Does the Touch HD have CSD capability (NOT HSCSD/GPRS/EDGE)?
Is it able to make a CSD (Circuit Switched Data) data call to an ISP and surf the web as a test?
CSD functionality is required to make an Encrypted voice call (via the CSD data channel)

Thanks,

Please do not double post, wait to be answered
I didnt succeed on that
Any input on that? Is CSD possible on HTC HD?
I have a windows mobile 6.1 smart phone (iPAQ 910c) that I would like to connect to the internet via a network modem Cellular Line (not Cellular Line-GPRS,3G) connection to my ISP's local 56k dial up numbers. (I don't want to pay $30 for a data plan for only occasional needs to browse when I am not near wi-fi, and I have 5 faves to use so calling the modem number costs me no air time.)
• I had no problem doing this on WM 5.0 with my iPAQ 6945 that I formerly owned.
• I can set up the same connection on my 910c, but I can not connect to my ISP. I get a general error message "cannot connect". I know the ISP number is working, because I have since connected with another 5.0 phone.
• I have tried the same connection on a few other WM 6.1 phones: the HTC Fuze and the Palm Treo. Same problem on both, so it seems a WM 6.1 issue.
I have spent several hours doing searches and reading blogs on this issue, and have found no help. Most related articles only speak of how to get a phone's GPRS connection to act as a modem for a laptop, which does not apply for my need.
I would be so thankful for any help or suggestions!
Do you have DUN installed? By default WM6 only uses "Internet Sharing", which works over a data plan. I never heard of what you did before, but if it worked in the past, it definitely used "Dial Up Networking" DUN.
You may want to install:

But's still not working for me...
I got this working on my Kaiser:

You won't get 56K speeds though, you are limited to 9600 V.32 or V.34 modem speeds, unless the device you are calling is digital and can utilise ISDN standard V.110 in which case you can get 38400. Change the CSD line type and try....
