Hello everybody.
As the title says, I'm looking for the drivers of hands-free kit USB, I'm guessing this is the one for Touch Cruise, but it works well on Diamond, so I bet an HD drivers should exist.
Thanks for the help.
Let me guess? You connected a Ext-USB set to the HD and got a 'not supported' message, so now you would like the drivers?
If so, sorry to disappoint you, but this is not about USB drivers, but about the audio connection that most HTC devices have in the extra pins of the ExtUSB connector, and the HD does not have audio on that connection (because the wires run up to the 3.5mm plug) and will thus never support headsets or handsfree on the ExtUSB port.
Thanks for the answer.
You're right, this is the message I've got.
So you say this is not possible, but I've read some people who said they did it.
Fake or not?
You tried the experience?
up!
Anyone else?

Hi there.
I have a question. with the oem adapter that has miniUSB, i can connect any universal miniUSB to RCA cable and it will work, am i right?
No you will need the HTC Cables. The HTC connector is different from standard mino USB adapter since it has extra pins ( 11-pins to be exact).
Yes, but i was thinking about conecting an adapter to make the HTC usb to standard miniUSB and then connect a universal miniUSB to RCA cable.
Is it possible?

There is a thread around here somewhere about modifying one by grinding down a portion of the third connecting ring on the mini-plug. I´ve tried it and it seems to work fine, but you have to turn the plug to properly orient the missing area so that the phone does not recognize it as a headset.
I found on Ebay, It's about $18.
I plugged in (for the first time ever) my usb headset that came with my blackstone, and i immediatly get a message saying 'Warning, The device does not support usb headset please remove' !!
any ideas?
There is no sound out of the USB connection, please use the 3.5 headphone socket.
am i being a bit thick? i got usb earphones with my blackstone that you are now saying are not compatible?
i didnt get a 3.5mm headset to use, just the usb one.
what am i supposed to do with the usb earphones then?
were did you get you device from
i got it from buymobiledeals.co.uk on uk orange contract
can you post a picture of what you got in the box and the boox itself
Doh! My partner just got a kaiser and I thought her headset was for my phone! Found my 3.5mm earphones in the box, guess i was being thick!
sorry for wasting your times guys, but thanks for your help.
well it happnes to the best of us
Hah, that sucks. Yea, There are dev's trying to get the usb slot to work how it should so later on you can do that. but not now

it was my understanding that although the extUSB socket has the ext pins, they are not actually connected to anyting on the blackstone side, so without a bit of hardware and some soldering skills, it wont be possible to ever enable the 'ext' part of the extUSB port
what i find funny is everyones major sore point with HTC is the use of the usb audio. now they finally give us a device with 3.5 jack and were trying to get it to work with usb

Agree - now we have a great 3.5 socket with socking sound there's loads of people who want USB sound. Once HTC provide USB sound I want a micro SD sound output channel !
lol
it did seemlike all i heard as far and cons go with htc was the usb headphones
I think its great they give us a 3.5 port. Just put it on the bottom so car holders can incorporate it for quick simple connections. Guess I'll need to set up bluetooth audio for my in car use. Hate to plug in extra plugs to get audio out.
Hiya,
You'll all probably know that on the TouchPro, the HTC mini-USB jack allows headphones to be connected (via adaptor), as well as a 'remote' which answers/ends calls...
...which is excellent, because I was able to develop my own wired connection to my CK-7W car kit.
I would like to do the same for my SEX1, particularly given the unreliable nature of the bluetooth.
Q: Is the mini-USB port configurable to give audio-out, and potentially answer/end calls?
Kind regards,
Oms.

It should be, you can get usb headphones, with a talkbutton, that use a standard mini usb fitting.
the audio for the X1 goes to the 3.5mm jack? There is an answer button on the supplied cable.
I thought the USB port was only for USB and power - am I wrong?
I'm not sure most HTC phone have audio out by USB and Mobile fun has
HTC Multifunction Audio Cable YC A200
HTC TyTN/MDA Vario II 3-in-1 USB Adapter
HTC Multifunction Audio Cable YC A300
in the X1 area,
but can't find anything on the net saying it will work
I really want it to work so i only need to plug one cable in when its in the car phone and audio.
I would love to know if some one has tried them.
I'll let you knoe if i get one
I tried it with my Moto L7 USB headset. Nothing happens.
Sorry
I wish it would work too...
htc devices use the extUSB connector and use the extre pins not in normal miniUSB for these features
pins the normal miniUSB connecter the x1 uses don't have so it can't be don
x1 don't support usbHost so the miniUSb connector only have 2 functions
being connected to an usbHost like a computer
and charging no other functionality is possible for a device which
don't support usbHost
Hi Oms,
I've just came across your post about the wired connection you made from Touch Pro to ck-7w. I would like to make a similar setup for my Touch Diamond2. Could you please post your findings on this matter and connections details?
I got the standard headset which comes with the HTC Kaiser. I now want to plug it into my PC and use also the microphone. Since its a mini USB device I would need a converter. I searched google and came over ordinary mini usb to usb converters.
Question: Did anybody do this already and did the microphone work?
Bump! Anyone?
Did you already find an driver for it.
It's a usb-device.
I would say give it a try.
Better buy for the money an microfoon. Hope you've great soundcard, so it will filter the background noise. You shouldn't hear your echo.
the usb port in most htc devices is not normal usb which is just a digital serial interface
but is extUSB which also carry audio IO
no pc have extUSB so it can't get access to the audio part
but a client server software running on both the pc and the pda
would be able to what you want
if anybody made it I can't tell
how about this?

you'll need the reverse thing of that =)
Hi,
I purchased this carkit which is supposed to work with my Touch HD (I had one from the same brand for my kaiser which worked fine)
However when i plug in my phone i get the message "USB headset not supported" and the phone doesn't charge. I can call handsfree since there's a jack cable connected as well, but ofcourse it also needs to charge.
Is there any thing i can tweak in the phone to get it working or should i return the carkit?
Thanks in advance
anyone got an idea?
audio is not routed through the extUSB port of THD.. the audio out is only through the 3.5mm headphone socket ..
the diff b/w ExtUSB and usual miniUSB was the audio out being routed through the usb socket.. it's valid for other htc models except for THD
so this might be the reason!
..
i dunno dutch.. so didn't make much of the site u provided.. but looks like it uses the usb port for connectivity..
it uses the usb socket to charge, theres a separate jack for routing the audio. it just wont charge and gives me the error msg
as far as my imagination goes.. u have to tweak the usb jack of the veripart docking station.. seems like the usb jack is wired such .. that it gives a usb device connect signal ..
http://www.tracyandmatt.co.uk/blogs/index.php/2006/09/10/htc_hermes_usb_connector_pin_config
as per this .. the lower part contacts send the "USB device connect signal" to th THD and it can't recognise it..as it's not programmed to recognise one.
blocking the lower contacts might help! or changing the minis usb lead to an usual one..
but Mate! Its just my hypothesis!jus trying to understand the reason! do consult some more buddies regarding this! all of this might damage ur telephone.. can create shorcircuit etc.
