Hello All,
Does anyone now of a way to increase the volume level when using a bluetooth headset. I'm talking particularly about the over/in the ear headsets for hands-free conversation. I have a Jabra BT8040. There are probably better bluetoothes but with the Jabra I'm able to pair the headset with up to 8 devices. Which allows me to use it with my HD and my Motorola Razor work phone. My phone and headset volume is maxed, but I still find myself straining to hear the other person. Forgive me if this question is redundant in the forums. I did search before posting and did not come across any previous questions of the same.
Appreciate any comments/repsonses!
THANKS!!
Use the HD Tweak and enabled the 3.2 audio booster, 3.3 diasble the 100db sound limitation, 3.4 set high for increase sound. Then save and set your device vol to the max both for system and ringtone.
Thanks WingZer0n, I'll give that a try.
Hummmm...it seems like it worked. The calls appear to be a little louder now. But I don't understand one of the suggestions you made. You're saying turn the volume of the ringer and system to max. Is this only when I'm on a call using the bluetooth? Please forgive my ignorance on this
yes set the device to max vol for both ringtone and system. press the volume button on the side of the device....

I am listening to streaming radio and transferring the sound to my bluetooth headset, but often even with headset, media player, and physical system volume turned up to maximum, it is barely audible.
Is there any app that works on the WM6 Touch/Vogue that will increase the overall system volume, rather than the call-talking volume, so that things like music and streaming radio can be made louder than the default maximum? Boost it higher than the built-in level?
Thanks...
I too have that problem. Anybody have any idea of where or how can you boost your speakerphone audio?
try using this.
Installed the cap on device, what exactly is this as I dont see any new program installed under programs.
That's because it's installed under the Settings tab. It's just a equalizer that can increase certain aspects of the sound

Does this increase the volume using a regular BT headset?
I have the Moto H700 and the volume is low when driving in my truck. I have the volume all the way up on the headset and I sometimes have problems hearing people.
It is fine as long as I'm in a quiet area, but the reason I bought the BT headset is to use it while driving since its safer than holding the phone to my ear.
I've already tried the audiopara.csv file and that increased the speaker but it didn't seem to affect BT.

I too have the same problem w/H700. I have searched high and low and have found there are many with this problem. It seems like it is a WM 6.1 issue.
Is there any possible way to increase the volume to the BT headset? This is a major inconvenience to many and I think it should be addressed by MS. Maybe one of the senior members here have some sort of tweak for this problem.
Thanks.
Hi,
I bought a Seidio Audio Adapter - miniUSB To 3.5mm - with One-Touch/Mic at the XDA store. It works great and I have no problem listening to music with my sony headset since you can adjust the volume with audiomanager. However when I am on a phone call it is super loud and I cannot adjust the volume. I looked around for a registry tweak but they usually talk about BT or speakerphone. What I want is the actual volume on the wired headphone. Can someone help? I am going deaf here!
Bump. This info is much needed. Please help.
So it didn't come with an inline manual volume adjuster? Sorry if that sounds like a ridiculous question. I'm looking for an adapter too and this is the first time I realized this might be an issue.
So to sum this up if you change the incall volume of the phone it doesnt change the output volume in your earphones? This seems rather weird to me because usually changing the output volume of the phone shouldnt allow the earphones to get louder tones...correct me if I'm wrong.
hello all,
I searched the forum but have not found any argument,
My bluetooth volume is very low, no way to increase it? I'm running 2.1
I'm the only one who has this problem?
Thanks, Danilo
iv also noticed this problem..
I have this problem as well. It makes using a headset that doesn't have an external volume control impossible.
I noticed the same thing on a nokia bt headset but thought it was cuz of that one headset. I have 3 more but never got around to trying them. Now that I know other people are having the issue is most likely cuz of the device. There are no options in the bluetooth settings so we got to find some other way to solve this

I'm just checking cos I couldn't see it mentioned, but you are adjusting the bluetooth in-call volume via the volume buttons first aren't you?
I do agree that even with it at max the BT in call volume is too low. It's odd as it's fine on A2DP streaming!
I wonder if it's a correction from the 1.6 ROM. That had horrendous BT call quality and sounded a little like the gain was set too high or something. Upgrading to 2.1 solved the problem BUT the volume has dropped significantly, to the point where i have to crank up the car's head unit much higher for phone calls than for other audio (fortunately it stores the setting!)
has anyone tried with the "secret code" menu?

Try the following, it works for me. I suspect it is a bug in Android
1. Disconnect the bluetooth headset.
2. Call to any number and change the in-call volume to highest using the volume button
3. Hang up
4. Connect the bluetooth headset again
5. Call to any number again and you will find that bluetooth in-call volume is much better now
I think that it is a bug that the bluetooth in-call volume is set proportional to the non-bluetooth in-call volume

I followed the steps exactly as you outlined, but there was no change in volume on the headset.
We definately need Dell or someone to fix this issue. I have a great headset -plantronics voyager pro- which used to work just fine on my N1 and I have not been able to use on the streak beacuase of the low volume.
Low volume in 5 high end bluetooth headset
Im also suffering to this problem, I tried my plantronics 975, Plantronics Backbeat, Jabra Stone and Blueant Z1 and V1 and still getting the same result. I also have the Galaxy S and HD2, all of my bluetooth headset works perfectly with no issues w/ my other devices. My Dell Streak is on a custom 2.2 rom.
I hope this will be fix on the official 2.2 upgrade.
Mine is exactly the same, whilst on the phone using BT headset if you use the volume keys it does show "BT in call volume" but max is too low! I have volume control on my Sony Ericsson MW-600 but it makes little difference :-( (music is perfect & loud though) I used them all the time on my se xperia x10i 1.6 with no problems.

I dont know what I am doing wrong but I find the sound level extremely poor for calls
I tried with a bluetooth headset, the outside speaker and the jack with my mp3 headset
it's pretty weird since when I play videos or music I am impressed by how loud I can push the Tab...
I am on AT&T with JMC (but was the same on JM6). And I set the sound at max
anybody has the same issue? Am I doing something wrong? Or is there any sound booster app for calls? (and is it necessary?)
Thanks for your help
My Tab isn't phone-enabled, but since you're new to Android, I thought I should point out that there are multiple volume settings, and in-call volume is one of them. Menu Key -> Settings -> Sound Settings -> Volume should give you all the sliders (Ringtone, Media, Alarm, System, Notification...). There are apps/widgets too that let you get to/change these settings without having to go into the settings menu every time (audio manager has been a decent widget for me). Until you're actually in the call the hardware rocker is usually doing the ringtone or media volume.
When I use mine with Skype 60% is usually blaringly loud for me, and I don't even have the system or media volume maxed out.
Sorry if it's something you know you've done, but thought it might help. If not, maybe someone else has had the same issue and solved it.

yes this I had figured out and set at the maximum
Everything non call related is really strong... It's conversation from normal calls that is ridiculously low
Am I the only one ?? What's wrong with my tab ?
Anyone with an opinion about this ?
Voice-enabled on AT&T with JM6. Have good results with the built-in speakers and cheap Nokia BH-214 stereo Bluetooth earbuds. I ordered the OEM earbuds, but I do understand that the 3.5mm jack port in finicky. Is your Bluetooth 2.1 or newer? Do you have many open applications when trying to place or receive calls? I've notice the sound stutter a bit on the speakers when I've got several apps open.
Here's something I noticed, when in call using my BT Headset, the volume slider sometimes says its on max but the output isnt. Try to lower or increase your volume. Once you hear the max level beep, it gets louder.
Im on a SingTel Tab by the way.

Thank you, will try right away
Edit: yeah I can definitely reduce the volume but my max was my actual max. As anybody tried to compare the volume on the speaker when playing music whith the volume on the speaker when on a call... It's like 5 to 10 times higher volume on a call !! And then same issue on a headset

As mentioned I tried it with everything I could... The default external speaker, a simple stereo headset (Not bluetooth), a bluetooth headset. They all give the same. Low volume
If you don't like volume in speaker, headset, bluetooth....You can change settings in "hidden" Audio menu. There you can change volume of individual ouput, but be careful!!!!!
Before change anything, make sure you can put it back the same number if you are not satisfied or have problem ..so wright it somewhere anything you wish to change.
Good Luck with experiment. If I remember correctly(from my old Samsung i780-Windows phone) "TX" settings is for output and "RX" for imput, but I can be wrong, so be careful.

what I do is, when in a call, I lower the volume by about 2, then increase it until i hear the max volume beep. The moment i hear it, the volume on my headset usually jumps up.
I have the same problem with the speaker volume. At maximum you cannot hear it. The bluetooth seems to work OK. IIRC JK5 software seemed to work correctly.

So I guess for you too, music or movies play with a high volume on the speakers whereas for calls it's rather low volume ?
Yes bluetooth or headset I can hear but still quite low volume compared with music...

My problem is specifically for calls. Anything else is fine and working well. That's the weird issue... I dont want to boost the volume for anything else!
That's pretty weird... I have been playing with the tab and I found out that for calls, the highest level I can have (by hear) is two notches below the highest. That's by far the loudest I get (If I push higher the sound decreases)
Am I the only one ? It really pisses me off.... I don't know how it can be like that (I am on JMC ROM after flashing a JM6 ROM over the JK5 from Russia (I am on an AT&T Tab flashed to get phone working)
Someone else get the same experience ?
I can confirm that the max 'in call' volume is two notch below the max !!! And I have the same tab/setting of the OP.
Aren't there some codes you can enter to adjust the volume level on calls and music, etc.?? like the Galaxy S?

Thanks ! Ina sense I am a littel bit relieved to see I am not the only one !
Such a stupid bug. Come on Samsung...
FYI it is fixed with the firmware JME
Sound level is much more acceptable and the highest level is not anymore two notched below the max
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to boost bluetooth playback volume. I have beats wireless studio headphones and they are definitely not as loud as they were when using them with my g3 on CM12. I do remember them being this low on the stock lg rom but when I switched over to CM the sound drastically increased. I am looking for a no root solution if possible as I am stock for the time being. I can't even feel any bass from these things and that's what they are supposed to be for lol. Any help is appreciated, thank you!
Interesting. CM12 killed my BT volume on my HAM2. I find BT audio to be just as loud as other devices I have. One thing I've noticed is that BT max volume seems louder if I make sure volume is maxed out before pairing, especially on devices that take over phone volume controls.
Unpair the headphones. Turn phone volume to maximum. Turn headphones volume to maximum. Then pair.
I'm interested as well the mixer_paths would be where we need to look but they look different than I've seen before. I've found a mod from 2014 I'll report back.

Has someone sorted out the bt volume? I also have a very low volume over the bluetooth music, as I'm using it in the car...
It also depends on the headphone I have different Bluetooth headphones and some are loud and some are not.
Well it's not headphone previous nexus 5x was fine, if there is a way to increase bt volume
Viper4arise solved the problem, however 7.1.2 also make the bt volume normal, problem fixed
Just is someone have the samr issue
The P9 is also a little less loud on BT than any other phone i had.
