Hi,
When I insert the storage card while the device is running, it starts to show the funny wWindows Mobile loading symbol every 2-3 seconds for about 0,3 seconsd (that little circle devided into colored quarters, I'm sure You know what I mean but I don't know the name ;-) ). Seems like the device wants to load or update something all the time, but I don't know what or how to switch off that... after a soft reset everything is normal again...
anybody knows this behaviour or has a solution?
regards jan

hi guys
Iv had my XDA2i for a couple of weeks now, everything has been going fine, until just now, when I did a soft reset. The xda just goes to the first screen (that says o2, xda2i and has bubbles in the background, also has the red writing in the bottom right corner) and stays there, the backlight stays off.
I havent changed my rom, its straight out of the box. The only thing that I have done since my last reset is changed my SD card from 256mb to 1gb. Though it has been a while (5 days or so) since my last reset, dont think I've done any thing major in that time, part from play with Pocket Zen, Flash dash and a bit of tomtom'age.
I've tried putting my old SD card in, no sd card in, sim card in, no sim card in, left the battery out for a few mins, just left it for ages... but nothing happens, it just stays there!
I really don't want to try a hard reset, is there anything I could do to get it going again?!?
Thanks for your help
Alvin
Hi - I've been lurking and trying some of the less intensive, flashing-not-required tweaks with success. But suddenly today, I'm having an issue.
My MDA/Wizard is all of a sudden frozen! I havent done anything to it since I got to work today (except blug it in to charge it) and on my way to work, it was operating fine - I watched some anime, read an ebook and listened to music with no problems.
What I've noticed:
- Signal light flashing, but cant get to phone app, doesn't ring when call comes in, gets a generic on-screen notification with no Call ID
- Screen frozen, can hear tapping noise, but nothing happens
- Goes to sleep mode and Power button can wake up as normal, but still frozen and Power button wont turn off device
- Buttons make noise when pressed, but no result
- Of all of the plug-ins (3) and built-ins (5) that are usually on screen, my Messages one has suddenly disappeared.
Today Screen:
*Date
*Owner
*Tasks
*Messages - GONE
*Agile Msgr
*SPB WMP plug in
*SPB Weather
*Device lock
The last thing that I installed was a .cab file from the Big All Tweaks Thread - it was the one that got the Caps/Fn indicator and "E"dge indicators on screen. But EVERYTHING was working after the install and til 15 min ago (14hrs total). I've soft reset about 6 times and even took out the battery with no luck. If I plug it into USB, it charges, but no recognition from AS.
Please help! I'm at work, my contacts and stuff are on home PC.
I'm running the original T-Mobile Rom and I'm not unlocked yet (I was trying to get up the nerve this weekend!)
Thanks in advance!
Hmm....no response?
I'm hope now...
I am beginning to wonder if my problem isn't related to the issue that pple seem to be having with the MDA zapping the SD card. I took out my card and then did a soft reset. My device is workign just fine with out it. Seems that if I put it bak in, there it goes freezing again.
The card seems fine when I put it in the reader, but if the MDA is having a problem with it, I'll be mighty vexed, as it is a week old 1gb card
If anyone has any imput, please chime in.....
I am wavering between trying to figure this out....or just going for it and updating my ROM while I'm going thru all of this anyway...
:nervous:
i have the same issues with about the same software loaded and freezes. to recover from the freeze, i press the reset button and while the phone boots up i press the phone "answer /hangup" buttons once or twice and it boots up.
i do notice something strange after a reboot- the programs on the 1gb sd card are no longer recognized. when i check file explorer, i can see the wizard has creadted a new file store location called 'Storage Card" and it has renamed my stoage card " Storage Card 2". All my files are then seen on "storage Card 2" but cannot be run.
i then deleted "storage card" and rebooted. the wizard then automatically renamned "sorage card 2" back to "storage card" and all my installed programs were ecognized and worked just fine. i suspect there is a bug in the OS regarding stogae card recognition at boot up . any ideas on this ?
thanks
Good evening everyone. My Hermes seems boot up fine, but after a split second it freezes.
Now, this happened the other day after I installed Egress RSS, but I was messing around trying to hard reset it and the issue was resolved. Last night I ran MSN Messenger Live and then it started this freeze up. Is this a known issue and is there a fix, or should I carry on messing around trying to hard reset?
After trying to soft reset it 30+ times, I've noticed a few things.
1). the today screen will initially load up completely before the freeze.
2). I think it's something to do with teh Live Today plugin thats causing the issue at it appears to change and the whole today screen locks up.
3). Pressing any of the buttons cause the screen to light up.
Anyone got any ideas?
I am not sure but my guess is maybe it is tryin to sync your contacts or connect to the server. So far im still hesitating to use it because of this. Im expecting it to be a [email protected]#$ to clean up all of my contacts.

Well, this is where the plot thickens.
The Hermes will boot up if I remove the memory card before resetting. Sometimes it will even boot up with the memory card in, but it won't recognise it. Putting the memory card in once the Hermes boots up will either;
1). not recognise it.
2) Freeze
3). Work normally.
As it appears to be an issue with the memory card, I've tried inserting it multiple times, but the same issue is persisting.
Are there any similar issues that anyone knows of?

Format the memory card on the PC then re-insert it into the HERMES. It may have gotten corrupted. Hope you have a backup of your files.

My friend's wizard did the same thing with a card he had, I would freeze at boot, and if I put it in my wizard it wouldn't recognize it. I tried what stukes said, and on the pc if fine, but it still won't recognize it on his wizard. His wizard has no problem recognizing my card though.
so i have been using my X1 for about 1 week now
i restarted the phone for a couple of occasion
and i used to see the Windows Mobile 6.1 loading screen just before we enter the today screen right..
usually during the Loading Screen of the WM 6.1, there shouldn't be a Start menu bar appearing right..
it should only appears when the WM 6.1 loading screen are finished and when we are on the today's screen, that is when the start menu bar appears
but idk, earlier today, i had to close my phone because the battery was low, and when i get back home, i start charging it, and then i turn my phone again.. and what i notice is that, the "start" menu now appears along with the loading screen of WM 6.1
is that normal.. or?
maybe this info will help, but i doubt it's the cause
i started using SKTools ( www.s-k-tools.com ) like around 3 days ago
and i do the Clean! and registry clean up.. never restarted my phone ever since 3 days ago.. but i dont think that is the cause for this?
i only want to think that perhaps, now my system are a bit lighter after i remove some useless junk using the SKTools, so the start menu bar loads faster.. hopefully that is the case?
but i doubt.. any help?
That is a problem? Please explain how?
yes, because if i remember correctly, the start menu never appears before on WM6.1 loading screen
im sure all of your X1 also have a full WM6.1 loading screen without a start menu bar on the top?
It is perfectly normal.
I really don't see the point in your question. Is your phone having an issue, a problem?
no.. nothing is wrong. but why was it not loaded in the WM screen before?
there must have been something to make the start menu appear faster, and i see this as not normal
that's all i wanted to know
thanks anyway for answering

happens to me to - its really nothing - i think its always been there for me - i just see it as part of the boot up phase - dont worry about it
hey guys,
long time reader first time writer.
i searched a lot for the last 2 days about this problem.
Two days ago, I was just phoning with my girlfriend till my battery goes down and the phone shutted down itself with a message like "Phone is turning off...". Around 30 minutes later I was back home and connected my phone to the power cable, but it didn't turned on (I thought).
I was trying a lot because I thought (!) it is bricked some how. Tried to connect it to my PC but of cause it doesnt exists for fastboot because USB Debug is off (I guess I turned it offagain some time ago) - but some minutes ago, something strange happend.
Again I was trying to figure out whats wrong with my phone. I turned it on but nothing happened. Around 40 Seconds later the ringtone for a new email was ringing and I was like "WTF?" - but yeah, it seems that my phone is running, but I just can't see anything.
The display seems to work because it goes on when I turn the phone on, but no colors, no images - just nothing appears on it. I don't know what to do. It seems that there is something wrong ...
Would be great if somebody got same problem and a solution.
Thanks a lot,
rob sanchez

I'm sure this might seem pretty obvious, but...
Reboot into recovery, if you can. Otherwise you need to try another solution.
Then from there perform a system wipe.
After that, you do in fact need to reformat your SD card. You could try and simply format your extension partition, but ultimately in a situation like this you might try rebuilding your partitions entirely.
Put your ROM on the SD - name it update.
Then once you reinsert the SD card, perform another wipe.
After that, select repair extension file systems. (If you use Amon_RA)
If not, that's fine...NOW you can flash your ROM.
