Hi!
I'm using HD tweak to get rid of the SIM contacts in my contact list but ofcourse everytime a soft reset is made, the setting has to be manually changed again.
Anyway of changing this permanently?

Normally registry changes should survive a soft reset. Change it with HDTweak, wait some time (< 5 minutes), and then soft reset.
you´re right. that registry setting will be reset to default (show sim contacts). to change it permanentely use a script that disables this key after every reset. you will find this solution here with the search function

Thats not true. I have changed it to "Hide (Advised)" once and it doesn't reset itself. So the problem must be something else.

I got my Tytn today and gets a very annoying grey pop window over all the screen having the title "STK-service and the popup displays my operator "Telenor SE"
and I can press cancel or ok but it is coming back all the time - it most popups when I have pressed the dialbutton and are at the dialscreen. Have anyone got a such popup ? I called Telenor and they have never heard of it. But they also didn´t no what a Tytn was.
In my Qtek S200 and Nokia N80 it doesnt popup so it is something special with the Tytn.
get a free registry editor do search for services and delete stk from there do soft reset

Thank you !!
It seems to work - found some service in the registry with that name and also a STK_service.dll in the windows folder and some STK exe´s. Looks like it is some SIM toolkit application. Deleted it and hadn´t got that popup since that!

I did a full backup first and don´t think I ever will need it. It seems to be som extra service Telenor is having for its customers and and the sim toolkit I don´t use. Have no contacts or whatsoever stored on the sim.
Basically as the title says.
There is an Outlook profile in my message, but I don't see anyway to remove it.
I don't use Outlook, I don't want it in there.
Anyone know of a way to hide/remove the outlook profile?
Removing Oyutlook..
Close messaging first .. properly..not just minimised.
In the registry.. navigate to :-
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\SVC
There is a key (folder) called "ActiveSync".. rename it to "zActiveSync"..
Now run messaging.. hey presto - it has gone....

Perfect! I figured there was a registry edit to make, but didn't know what it would be.
Thanks a lot!
Woh! Not so perfect!
After I did this my phone completely stopped alerting me to text messages.
I had to change the key back to get it to alert me again.
Guess I'll just have to live with the outlook profile in messaging.

Perfect man!!! I didn't expect there was such an easy answer for GldRush98's question... It works exactly as I wanted to...
But the people here have a knack for surprising noobies like me... LOL!!!
THANKS A LOT!!!
Very strange...
Bro, I got a question though...
I `ve noticed that my device doesn`t play the notify tones after this tweak...
It took me many hard resets and restorings too find out this was the problem... But I still want to remove the outlook without stoping the notify sounds for the receiving of sms and e-mails... Any idea how to solve this???
Get DotFred's PIM Backup tool, backup everything but your email account. Do a hard reset, restore your PIM info, and reinstall the programs you use.

You did not do "hard" resets, or all of your customization and accounts would have been cleared. Hard Reset Sequence for a Wizard is described halfway down this page. If this is for your Touch, you're on the wrong boards.

My bad! I thought it would work for Elfin too... And it partially did...
What I meant by "hard resets" was that I had decided to format my device and restore all the configuration settings one by one to identify the problem. And I did... I was in the wrong thread... LOL!!!
Tks!

welcome to this forum
here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398265
and yeah next time use search botton
i'm using DiamondTweak and there is an option 16.1 sim contacts, where you can choose to hide them. that works for me.
edit: i just noticed this option will be reset after you do a soft reset
I use mortscript for that. It's a tiny script that executes after each soft reset and disables the sim contacts in my contact list. I already posted that somewhere here on the forum how to do that. Please do a search on mortscript + hidesim.mscr and you will find it.
EDIT: read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2486985&postcount=2
or use the cab file in the last post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2486985#post2486985
Exactly NikiSimFix.CAB works great!
Thanks for helping me
Installed NikiSimFix.CAB and everything is great.
That simply doesn´t work for me puting the "showsim" option.
I´ve only made it with sktools, but after a softreset it´s there again.
sktools doesn´t insert the showsim either. I´m clueless where it is disabling this
Edit: forget it! my bad. Was checking on HLM.
I copied all my contacts from the SIM card to the phone. Now I have them duplicated on my contacts list. I've search everywhere and can´t find a way for it not to display the SIM contacts. I installed a advanced configuration tool that has that option, but it automatically changes back to show sim contacts
Can anyone help please?
Thanks

Try this reg edit.
HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone\ShowSim: 1 change to 0

SIM contacts again
OK, but after turn off/on SIM contacts are visable again.
How, make them invisable permanently?
There isn't any option in menu to display only HTC contacts.
A big mess, I think.
you can use advance config tool
Hi ariana,
having the same problem.
Advanced Config Tool as well as editing registry directly do not work.
Specific registry entry is reset to 1 after reboot. And SIM Contacts still there...
Also tried Kaiser SIM Fix and Niki SIM Fix found here. Does not work either....
Very, very sad....
for me this is working very nice. i have 2 sims (vodafone and orange) and i'm changing both of them. and everything is ok.
How did you deact. SIM contacts?
Have you made any other changes (touch deact., other apps, etc)?
Perhaps the reason is somewhere in the start-up apps.
Just an idea.
I installed an app called iContact in my HTC Touch 3G, and is really useful, mimiking the iPhone. And obviously, you can ocult your SIM contacts. I recommed it!.
Only way is remowe manualy contacts from SIM, I think.

Yes, I gave up long time ago. I copied everything from the SIM to the PDA and then remove everything from it. It seems to be the fastest and simplest solution. Whenever I want to take the SIM out and use it on another phone, just copy the contacts back to the SIM using the built-in function.
has anyone found a better solution for this yet?
Hi.
Is there anyone that capable to redo a file like NikiSimFix.cab that works on Jade?
Thanks
With the Spb-Mobile-Shell you can hide SIM-contacts permanently.

I am not sure why it's not working on yours. On mine when I changed any registry settings and softreset, the changes stays there. For the settings HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone\ShowSim: 1 change to 0, when I changed to 0 (and then softreset), the SIM contacts does not show anymore even after many many restarts/softresets.

If this is no solution for you, it is possible to write an mortscript and autostart it to set the registry-entries on every new start of the phone. For details you have to read here:

thanks i'll try it
so at the end i've preferred install icontact and problem solved
I would like to change the time (now 15 mins) or alltogether remove the auto-lock-feature that I got together with a certificate from work. I have installed S2U2 and would like to have that as the only lock-function...
What can I do?
Speak nicely to your network admin and ask him to change the Exchange EOA policy settings, as it will be set as a requirement that any phones syncing to the server have autolock enabled for security.

Try this cab by Zenyee to overide your exchange settings
followed by this reg edit
HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd and change DeviceLockWhenSuspend to 0
If this entry doesn't exist you need to create it, then reset.
It will stop the auto lock and you can use s2u
