Last seconds of an mp3 are skipped in touchflo3d player - Touch HD General

Hi.
I've copied some of my mp3 files to the sd card of my touch hd which I just got.
Some of them are part of an audio book, where it does matter a bit more than other tracks if some parts of the file are skipped.
So I play back a track, and the last 1 to 3 seconds (I cannot tell exactly how much) of the track are skipped, but there is still spoken text in those last seconds of the track. This is very annoying as it makes it more difficult to follow the contents of the book.
Could someone test if this problem is reproducable?
Anyone got an Idea how to correct this (without going through the work and modifying the mp3 files to counteract this)?
Thanx in advance,
Lukas

i get this too

have u noticed this happens to your message tone when u get messages as well?

I usually have gta chat radio from various gta games in the background while reading and I notice this same last second skipping. Playing them in Coreplayer works fine.

You'd think that HTC would check that their software works before releasing it. I would have put playing complete files up there in the high priority list.

more details
I checked some more on a hunch and found out that the windows media player has the same problem. I think that htc uses the playback libraries of the microsoft media player in it's software. Assuming that is true, it's not directly htc's fault.
Still, this does not solve the problem, and I did not find this problem mentioned concerning windows media player 10(.3) mobile for pocket pc...
I searched if there are patches availabe, but did not find a clue to this.
Anyway, maybe someone of you has more luck?
Maybe some alternative software that makes music management and playback convenient, similar to what htc provides?
Lukas

Hm...I didnt notice the same problem on my phone using the windows media player only the touchflo player.

It sounds as if the device is blanking the audio immediately it reads the end of the track from the media. Unfortunately this isn't valid because the buffer(s) will still be full of data that hasn't been played yet. It should continue to play until the buffer is empty of valid data.
If this is true, then I would expect that the bitrate being used might influence the duration of sound lost. For example, an audio book recorded at a low bitrate for speech might lose more.
- Steve

I get the same in media player, when the whole mp3 file is played it skips the last 2 seconds, but when forwarding to the last 20 secs it plays to the end. So to me it seems like some kinda crossfade effect, but cant find a way to turn it off.

any way to use/port the touchflo mp3 player from the diamond or touch pro since those phones don't seen to have that problem?

This is what htc says: Are any of you game to try it out?

Have the exact same problem but nobody seems to know, or at least be telling anyone about, a fix.
What I can confirm though is that the problem disappears when using CorePlayer.

TF3D Music Player problem

hi there
ive synced my hd with wmp and all my songs etc are on there fine in mobile wmp. all the individual songs show up on the songs tab in the tf3d music player as well but my problem is when i go to the artists tab, it shows enough artists to fill the screen but when i finger scroll to go further down, the list just disappears, like theres only the first 10 or so artists and then theres nothing.
has anyone else had this problem?
ive resynced a couple of times, deleted the audiomanager.vol file etc but still the same problem. plus it takes over 2hrs to sync so i dont want to do it that often. have over 2000 tracks.
cheers for any help
just bumping up to get help
i got the same problem... but what doesnt work in my player is the current playlist and songs...
just uploaded a vid 1 minute ago:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=WZZF-Vm-lrQ
Probably the player isn't designed to handle such a big amount of data.
I know this is not a great help, but you should really try CorePlayer. It has a media library, which works quite well .
i have coreplayer and use it for videos but for music (normally also for vids but wmp suxx rele bad [-> codecs]) i always prefered the built-in player.. usually u only listen with shuffle coz i need variety ^.-
i just dont wanna use an extra player coz its an extra app and i wanna avoid that as far as possible.
what i really miss is a hardware button or something like that to chance to the next song.. i used a sony ericsson w850i walkman phone for the last 2 years and i could use the volume buttons (long press) to navigate through the playlist without turning the display on, thats hell useful when its in the pocket, especially when ur riding a bike.

well.. since its not possible to even chose the music dir (seems to must be in <root>/music) the player should be designed to handle any amount of data. i only have 300 songs on there atm. usually i would have, like kauka187, 2000+ =)
i really hope there will be a good firmware update very soon...

Yeah youre prob right about the amount of data.
ive got coreplayer to watch movies and s2p when i want to find a specific song (since theres no search function in built in the tf3d music player WTF!) to play so i guess they will have to do for now until htc hopefully comes up with an update because i really like the look and finger friendliness of their player.

just watched your vid and yeah i have exactly the same prob but like you said, my issue is in the artist tab.
you never know, some bright spark in this community may be able to come up with a fix
This seems to be a bug, I discovered it too with about 3000 songs on the player (which required a softreset for anything to show up in the TF3D menu)
It seems that when you try to scrol down, it snaps back to above the first artist.
When it happend to me I could get back to the other artists if I just scrolled down again.
There's still quite some bugs in the TF3D Player and I wouldn't mind replacing that tab with Coreplayer or WMP itself.

I may have just found a solution to some of the problems with the TF3D music player.
I loaded a bunch of new tracks onto my storage card via the USB cable earlier and edited some of the artist/album details on the tracks I added. The TF3D music player wasn't recognising the new tracks or the changes I'd made to the existing tracks. A soft reset didn't solve the problem. Removing and re-adding TF3D to the Today screen didn't solve the problem. The wrong details were still shown in the player. (As well as this, the Playlists tab wasn't working at all and I couldn't queue up new songs to play.)
Removing and re-inserting the SD card while the list of artists was showing on the HD's screen, however, HAS forced it to re-index the music on the card and now it's all perfect again. Perhaps someone else with a problem could try this?
Sequence:
- copy tracks to the card over the USB lead, or update artist/album details
- unplug USB cable
- go to Artists list in TF3D music library (leave TouchHD turned on)
- remove SD card
- list of artists is erased from screen
- insert SD card
- after a few seconds the list of artists is rebuilt correctly
Report back your results!
did just like you said and the list is built up again, but the list of songs and the now playing list still won't scroll..
yer me 2... just re-inserted the memory card but problem still occurs
the only thing i can think of is an encryption problem in the tags.. i used the musicbrains global database to tag my entire music in order to remove all problems in the tags. but since my tags are ALL tagged the exact same way i got trouble finding the problem ^^
Same problem here!
I had to rebuild my artist-list through updating in WMP. But problems remains to be solved...
I have 860 songs on my card, and it fails to scroll through Albums and All Songs.
Only Artists works.
I believe though, that it is a problem that HTC should solve, and not us. This is not an improvement, tweak or anything else.
This is a real error in the Player!
I tried to describe the problem to the technical support at HTC.
When (if) they respond, I will let you know.
awesome cheers
Update on problem and HTC Tech Support:
HTC has replied to my request, and their recommendation is to clean the card, and then sync it all again through WMP11.
I followed the procedure, but the problem remains (
Only positive thing, however, is that I now have A LOT more album covers!
I'll be back later...

TouchFlo Music Player not working at all!

Hello guys..
New to the forum, but not to the game - so sorry beforehand if there is already a thread concerning this issue. A link to that thread would more than suffice, but after a few minutes of searching I couldn't find anything - so here goes:
My Blackstone really acts up when I try to use the Music Player in TouchFlo3d. Meaning, all I have to to is slide the menu over to the "Music" tab - and TouchFlo immediately restarts/resets and I end up back at the "Home" window. I've tried formatting the SD card (was thinking maybe it was my music files acting up), but that didn't do the trick. At the moment I just use Media Player Mobile, which is good enough, but I would really love for the actual TouchFlo player to work as well.
Thanks a lot for any help regarding this !
Sincerely, Naxos aka Joachim.
Well why don't you start off by explain how you came to get this problem in the first place? What did you install.
I doubt it will just screw up like that.
Of course, sorry.. that's just the point, and probably why I forgot to mention it. This actually happened like the first night I ever used the phone, so I had installed absolutely nothing yet. I was "new" to the phone then, so I just disabled music tab for TF3D, until now - cuz now I've come to know the phone well enough, and I want to get the problem fixed.
I had synched a few songs via WMP from my desktop computer, and the first time I added them they worked. But as I tried to listen to a few of them, scrolling back and forth, checking the menus etc, suddenly (sounds weird, but that's how i experienced it) it started acting up as previously explained.
Currently the only stuff I've installed to the phone is:
-Official HTC Fixes
-Coreplayer(legit)
-HDTweak
-tnyynt SD Tuner
-MusicID
Really sorry that I really can't explain anymore as to how the whole problem occurred in the first place, and of course I understand if this prevents you guys from really helping at all. Of course, a hard reset would probably do the trick - but I would very much like to avoid that!
My TF3D music player screwed up when i tried to play wma files, as soon as i removed those and only added mp3 files it's ben working fine.
you could check your phone (internal memory and sd card) for unsupported music file format
as long as the stupid thing (tf3d player) scan the entire device for media files, it can stuck on one of those unsupported formats.
it happened to me when i first added my ringtones, so that can be it.
good luck!
Thanks noris, but even that wasn't the thing it seems
searched my whole device for anything but mp3 files, and came up with nothing, I mean other than my ringtones tho.. don't really want to delete all of those..
hm, I'm really at a loss here - so one final effort for some hero out there to help me please! else I guess I'm going for the hard reset
thanks for the replies, anyway!
I had a similar issue with 'Santogold' by Santogold. I read on some other forum that the Touch Flo music player locks out if you have an album title with the same name as an artist! Sounds crazy, but ...I removed the Santogold album and it worked fine. Transpires it loaded in the tracks upto that album then had a fit and kept throwing me out. I still can't figure out what's wrong with the file. It's an mp3 format album purchased from 7Digital. http://www.7digital.com/artists/santogold/santogold/ (encoded at 256k). Have a look at all the music you're transfering over to the HTC and see if there's any music files that bear these similar traits.
I've also had the random audio pauses using the player, bizarre digital scrobbling noises (had to reset device to fix that one). Nearly all of my files were ripped to MP3 using Windows Media Player 11 at 128k. The whole Touch Flo interface is buggy. Are we all raising these bugs with HTC? I have raised a couple so far. Latest being the mail previews (in the envelope graphic) not being able to flick through previews. Seems to happen if the device is reset and you go straight into mail once it fires up, or if the device is left on standby for more than a couple of hours and you go into mail. You have to flick through sms previews first and THEN go back to mail for it to work. Crazy crazy stuff!

[PROBLEM] HTC MP3 player stops after every song?

Hi there!
I've a huge problem with the music player on the hd2. It stops after EVERY song. I alsways have to turn on the phone and manually hit play or next to play the next sond. That's quite annoying!
It doesn't matter if I select an album, a playlist or whatver. Even if I turn on repeat-mode, the sond is only played once.
Anyone else have this problem? Is there a solution?
I noticed the same thing, and I already updated to 1.48...
There's a partial solution anyway: if you don't press the power off button to activate the stand by mode, but instead if you let stand by mode to activate by itself, it works correctly.

I've had the same thing happen when I let standby mode activate itself, also have an issue where the MP3s stutter, small 1 second breaks in the music.
Few people use the embedded mp3 player coz it's bad and very slow, especially when you have a massive library.
You should try another player: Kinoma (freeplay is free), CorePlayer, Nitrogen (free), etc...
err, starting an extra application for that doesn't sound very attractive to me. Actually I like the fact that this is integrated into sense.
Regarding the speed: I've ~10 GB of music. The HTC player handles them very well
After i read this, i tested it on my device.
The first time the player stopes after the first track,
but if you press play again and you come to the end, then it switch to the next track without a problem and play it.
regards
I have the repeat button on and it doesnt' stop!! And the built in mp3 player is better than WMP because it actually shows chinese characters properly for me... And the interface looks nice...
I noticed the music player in htc sense only looks at the music folder on the storage card, is there any way to add more folders of music or must I insert all my music there and it will automatically be "synced" every time a new song/folder of songs is added?
On mine, the HTC music player looks for all audio files on both the storage card and the phone itself (anywhere in 'My Documents'). It even picks up ring tones I've added and the 'sample' music on the phone. So, I'm not sure if this is a setting of some kind, but mine seems to do what you want, and your's seems to do what I want.
same as you
I have the exactly same problem my friend nd it's irritating. For now, the only solution I have is the use of bluethoot earphones where I can skip the music on it, but as soon as I put classic earphones it does the same problem. I'm gonna try another player I think. it's a pity because HTC player is starting to become gorgeous
track order
Has anyone noticed track order problems. I've started a thread on this. It's really doing my head in.
Same track order problem here. Posted it to HTC-support, they have no solution. Every other player doesn't have this problem.

Audio manager-Joint list to reclaim HTC

I think what we must do a census of the HD2 do have the problem with the HTC Audio Manager, that if these are 100% of the HD2 and equally disturbing to me is that the issue of accommodation of pink.
Email HTC also explain the problem you are reading that if you make sure that passes the test well.
If so (I'm pretty sure that if) a list of users to send and email affected HTC to see the answer or at least taken into account in its next revision of the ROM or do a patch, as it did with the camera.
This is the mail I sent:
"Hello, I noticed that the Audio Manager is not working as it should be on the HD2, and I've had the HTC Touch Cruise, HTC Touch Pro, HTC HD2 and now, with previous others, listen to music with audio player HTC Audio Manager and activate, then put the device into the suspended and everything went perfectly on the show is not working for the HD2 HTC, which has only the effect of the first song on the album Audio Manager, Track, composition changes manually (control) or end of a song and start over Manger Sound stops working and even when returning to the Audio Manager box is checked this not work.
I request a search a solution to the problem, tried to soft reset and hard reset and the problem persists even with the 1.48 ROM update is on the page.
I look forward to hearing this regard, since it is a very expensive and I hope it works correctly, as the other devices are also very expensive, but everything works fine, there are several devices with the same problem on XDA, HTCMANIA and TodoPocketPC Other Pages of which I am member.
A greeting "
The way to verify that the problem is to make a game with headphones albun track with sheet music in the menu Manila Enables audio sample manager and a great improvement in the sound of R & B or Rock ie, each to your liking, then change the shutdown screen (obviously, the music still works, it makes no sense to go with the music screen with HD2 in your pocket, right?) and the song just have to change the HD2 Series O command wait until the end of this problem and start the next, it automatically disables the Audio Manager, which is the decision reopoto HTC.
So if you see that you have the problem (I'll bet that if 100% of all owners of the HD2) the census that can be a good pressure to resolve as soon as possible.
A greeting and thanks for participating in "collective slap on the wrist HTC" if you have trouble
The more you have this problem or we're on the list mayoir pressure to settle it soon.
Mention also would be nice nick buestro with ROM version is ..

¿?¿?
did not think this a topic to discuss?
I guess that HTC knows how to do things better and they can fix the bug of Audio Manager.
And another thing, I is not better without google translation.
NO Audio Manager Error
Audio manager does NOT have a bug. It seems people do not take their time to figure somethings out for theirselfs, so let me do it for you.
step one
Connect your HTC HD2 to your computer
Active sync started? nice
step two
Start up Windows Media Player
You see the nice tab Synchronise?
Click on it
Now you need to choose the option Storage Card so that WMP knows where to sync the songs you want on your HTC HD 2
Step 3
Dragg the albums you want to the right side of WMP (WMP also guids you where) and click on sync. and the songs you want will play on your HTC HD 2 without the Audi Manager Error
Say thank you!
lol

@OT: I've emailed HTC about it too and the reply i got was that they will inform the dev team about it... this was a month ago =/
It takes some time for the HD2 to index what is on the card.
I normally go to the music tab and attempt to open the library then exit it.
Then I give it a couple of minutes to do its thing.
You should see a spinning circle icon in the top left corner while it's searching for new music and indexing everything.
Obviously the more music you have, the longer it will take to index it.
You will have to do this everytime you replace the SD card and everytime you reboot.
This has fixed the issue for me, if there is an easier or quicker way I'd love to know.

This phone is half product.
I also have a problem playing music with HTC Sense player.
The only thing that worked is that all mp3 files MUST have tags inputed!
Also it works only with 10 albums max...when i upload one more...CRASH!
But if only this is the only problem. The Windows Market Place had to be reinstalled to work. SMS problems - had to install SMS FIX....and so on!
if only people would write THAT in their reviews! I would never buy this phone and spend 450€ if I knew that I would have to repair it - to use it!
And THERE IS NO UPDATING directly from the phone! That's just stupid!
I have WindowsM that has to be connected to WindowsPC to update the WindowsM! What is the point. Why not update directly?
I'm totally dissapointed in my phone, WM and HTC!

You've never downloaded any updates or patches for any Windows, Linux, OSX installations?
Or downloaded patches or updates for any games or office software you've ever used?
Please, get real and get over it.
If your MP3s don't have tags, you'd lose half the features of the player anyway, you wouldn't have the album art, the artist or song title displayed?
Gday Blackyy777,
Sorry mate, but id have to disagree with you there. I purchased my Htc hd2 a while ago, and use the standard winmo device centre to load music/files etc. It take you to the standard windows media player, and clicking on sync as you described works fine.. All music gets synced (ok), all shows perfectly on the sd card (cool). But the problem starts when you open the music tab on the HD2. It takes around 4 mins to show all your music (not a problem as i have around 10gb of music on my sd card), but when you click on the album and press play, it plays the said track for around 2 mins, then crashes.. and comes up with Audio manager error..?? I have checked all the mp3 files that i am copying across, and none of them are corrupt, i cannot seem to play any of the music fully. Very bizarre... And i have googled this problem, and it seems alot of people have the same issue. Do you know something we dont..lol...???
Oh, things i have tried to rectify this problem already..
1. Format sd card
2. Change format of music files instead of mp3 to wma
Can you help..??
hehe Im with u. Couldnt understand anything!!!
hi
dear all
In htc hd2 Music player shuffle is not working properly. due to following reason
since htc hd2 quite brillant (but they are very silent). when they copy from iphone (concept) they didn't copied properly.
1. shuffle will not work properly
due to following reason
1. it will start all the album first (unknown album)
2. it will start all album in start with alphabet (a)
3. repeated Shuffle Will be working
4. i have 4000 mp3 songs i know what will be my next song even it shuffle.
becuase shuffle plays same repeated mp3 songs.
5. even all the songs are properly mp3 tag with mp3 editor and saved it is same
6. all mp3 should be copied under music folder.
7. shuffle mode work when u keep the phone horizontal (Landscape mode)
solution
1. from google search
open the htc hd2 backcover. remove the storage card and insert it it will work.
once again same set of shuffle songs
2. copy the audiomanager from windows folder and pase as short cut in the startup it will works some time.
but htc hd2 they are not brillant end of the day they are silent.
in fact i like htc hd2. but due this i hate use the htc hd2. all my friends made a fund that. htc hd2 music repeated player use less.
thanks

[BUG] Brackets in an mp3 genre field crash HTC Music Manager (and phone)

In case anyone is having difficulty with their HTC Music Application not including mp3s in the library I have discovered a fairly comical bug and is described in more detail over at the HTC forums
Essentially any mp3 ID3 tag that has a bracket ( in the genre field causes the music update process to hang only recoverable after a reboot. It also (on my device) takes down the network connection.
Brackets and other characters !!!
Very important bug, Please relay the info
Hi there. I also have a lot of issues with my music library too.
So, what is the problem? I, as others, noticed that after transferring new files to my SD card (audio files or not), my music player crashes. Once it crashes, only a softreset would make it work properly. Re-connecting the device and removing the newly added files won't make the Player work again...
To transfer files to my SD card, I connect my device to my computer using a USB cable. If you connect using the "Disk Drive" mode, the speed is better, but the phone music player cannot access files, until you disconnect it from the computer. If you connect using the "ActiveSync" mode, it's less easy to transfer stuff, but the bug remains...
Normally, the Music player is able to update the files in a few seconds and should display every single tracks if you click on "Library" and choose the tab "All tracks". I means, it's extremely fast and my 4Go mp3s appear in 20 seconds or so. Wow!
Unfortunately, from time to time, when I disconnect my device, the Music Player crashes, the little update circle turns for ever, the "All tracks" tab remains empty, the player displays "no music found" and is unable to play any track, until the next softreset. From blazing fast to just plain buggy. Gosh!
Now, the good news. I discovered that the mp3 Tag (the so-called ID3 tag) is responsible for my problems.
I already gathered the facts that brackets in GENRE field cause the HTC Music Player to crash (See here), as wall as tag format other than ID3v2.4 UTF-8 (See here).
Still, it didn't complete solve the problem to convert all the ID3-tag to ID3v2.4 UTF-8 format and even removing the "genre" field from every single track. The problems were solved after I alse removed the "tracknumber" field from every track. Here are my complete findings about this bug.
What make the HTC Music player crash?
- The crash problem seems only related to the mp3 tag (ID3 tag)
- Tag format "ID3v2.3 UTF-16" => solution: use only ID3v2.4 UTF-8 tag or convert all the mp3 files in the player using MP3-Tag or similar software (shareware)
- Genre field using the following characters: brackets (), and symbol (&). No problem with the dash (-), underscore (_) nor space.
- Tracknumber including a star symbol (*). No problem with format like 1/16.
- Only one mp3 file is able to crash the whole player
- Only softreset will solve the problem once it happens. Even re-connecting the player and removing the bad files won't solve the problem once it happens.
So, if you have some mp3 tagged "Rock & Roll", "R&B" or "Pop (Rock)" files, you'll likely to see your Player crash everytime you connect and disconnect the USB cable.
What I don't know, is if everybody has the same problem. Myself, I'm using the latest official ROM 1.48 WWE with some tweaks...
For now on, I'm converting every file I transfer to my HD2 with MP3-tag using "ID3v2.3 UTF-16" tag, no *, no (), no &... And I happy again with my device... Until?
So what do you think? Do you have the same problem?
Reply, anyone?
I know for a fact many people did experience the same music player crashes.

Hello guys! I did exactly what you suggested, converted all tags from my 5 GB of MP3. No success, Music Player takes ages to load (approx. 8 minutes, but every time you open it). Seems that the database (that is created when the Sd-card is inserted for the first time, hence the looooong loading. Right?) will not be saved for some reason. So the HTC-Music player is useless at present.

The size of my music folder is 4,5GB. I put all the songs at the same time on my microSD and then I opened the Music Tab. I had the same, never ending circle.
I deleted all of my songs, opened Music Tab, no songs of course, gave it a soft reset, plugged my HD2 to the pc, splitted my songs in parts of between 600-800MB. So I put the first part of 600MB on my phone, unplugged it, waited a lil bit and then opened the Music Tab. Sometimes it doesn't see the new files directly, so I have to soft reset it. Then start Music Tab, the circle will come up for a minute or less, and disappear again. Press on the library button, scroll to All Songs and select a random song and see if it plays for more than a minute. If everything is okay, you can pause the song, go to the main screen and put the next part of 600MB.
Sometimes the circle doesn't come, and sometimes it never stops. In that case, you have to wait for a few minutes on the Music Tab, and after that give it a soft reset and see if it helps.
It takes a long time, but at the end the music tab will finally work. If the whole thing crashes and doesn't react if you press the Play-button, give it a soft-reset and delete the last part again, soft reset and see if music tab works.
Before you try this, increase the standby time to 10 minutes, otherwise it will turn off all the time. You have to be patient, but in my case it fixed the problem.

Take it easy. I definitely agree with you that something is wrong with the Sense music player, but until HTC really fixes this, we'll encounter various issues. You have to understand that only one wrong file will make your player crash and act exactly as you observed: playing any mp3 for few seconds and then stop. Let's make it clear. If you have only one wrong file in the whole library, not only will this particular file be impossible to play, but the whole library as well won't be able to play!
What do I call wrong files? I'm referring to the files not respecting the characteristics I described previously (TAG => more info here, if you don't know what I'm talking about). What is certain is that some "wrong" characteristics, other than MP3 tags, will make your play crash, that is for sure.
First things first. Did you at least try a softreset? Even so, I observed that the soft reset will "solve" the problem as long as the problem is related to MP3 TAGS. But I already experienced freezes and crashes even after a fresh softreset. This means that some "wrong files", not necessarily badly tagged will make the player crash, that's for sure. I still haven't found answer to that...
What you should do, as someone mentioned, is avoid putting your files in the same folder. As I always listen to full albums, already arranged in specific folders, I might have not experience bugs related to this issue.

Read the above message and answer these questions:
- Do you still have the problem after a softreset?
- Do you still have the problem if you only have few mp3 on the SD card?
- Do you have a lot of files in a unique folder?
- Do you have other music filetype?
- Look for specific characters in the TAGS, maybe other characters are not supported (; ~ \ ç ^ µ ????)
As I mentionned before, be aware that only one wrong file is able to make the whole music library crash, so you'll have to search and find that (or those files)... and share your findings with us
I'm sure this will get a fix sooner or later.

thank you for making my angry-heart slower (to 100 bpm, its normal for me).
at end, i delete all mp3s and try it with only one mp3 - to see that the player really function is o.k.
change all like you say (make filename smaller and this time without underscore "_").
and what can i see ... time is more than 5 seconds ... 8 seconds ... 15 ...
o.k., now i will test with my other mp3s (all together are max 1,2 GByte and not more than 30 files ... )
thank you
cant believe it ...
change my other mp3s as same as above i describes,
but more than one title the player makes the same shi.. as before.
i check all and find only one different thing in the list:
i have some mpegIII, mpegII and mpegI mp3-files.
could this a problem for the player?
okokur
okokur i have the same problem as you - the player will play a song then once the update circle has finished spinning does the player crash. You have to press pause/play numerous times to get it to start again and then the whole cycle repeats. I have tried everything. Formating, folder by folder transfer - nothing works. Until I change the ROM to something else by another Chef - then it works. Go back to the old ROM - Bang dies again.....I've looked at reg settings etc and cannot see any difference - this is very confusing/frustrating and annoying!
same prob as above have a 8 gb sandisk that came with the phone.had 5 gb of wma all good then added 1.2gb of mp3 then did some cover art updating and bang sense player now crashes.....play/pause button to resume and good for 30 secs and bang same prob......also have a "sandisk" 8gb from thailand that the phone doesnt even recognize....note the both worked in my hermes.
embedded meta data has always been a source of problems, especially when mixed with the literally thousands of different encoding variables. I once spent two days trying to figure out a winamp problem that eventually turned out to be a single track with a non standard character in the 'notes' field of the tags. (damn those stupid kids filling napster with tracks full of tags like '®¡pp€¤ 8y $p&®kz' )
Same goes for videos, try opening a folder with a hundred avi files in vista with preview turned on. takes forever.
I haven't had ' too' much trouble with the media player on here, and if it is tag related then it makes sense cause a year or so ago I used a multi file tagger to remove everything but title album track and artist fields.
(I guess my long winded story just ads a little weight to the tags theory)
I wish to confirm the UTF-8 UTF-16 issue.
None of my cd-ripped in WMP (windows 7) music plays on the HD2 and even makes my HD2 to badly respond (slow).
I noticed some downloaded files did play.
For the cd-ripped trakcs I noticed that the filename was given instead of the Title/artist. It was clear to me that this is a tag issue.
I found this thread and tested to save the ID3 tags in UTF-8 instead of UTF-16 and indead my tracks are playing now.
It is clear that the HD2 does not support UTF-16 and this is very annoying.
I believe, but thats a suspicion only, the problem lies in the combination of ripping cd's in to WMP Windows 7. Posibly Win7 WMP started using UTF-16???
I reported the issue to HTC NL, but the find it weird they do not have many calls for this.
Posibly this is because I belong to the few persons that still buy CD's, use Windows 7 and wants music on their HTC phone
Is there still no fix for this????
I have 14gb of music on my sandisk micro sdhc
all ripped with winamp flac format
my new htc legend wont play any of my music
so i re-ripped it all to mp3 format, and used mp3 tag, now htc player finds about 6-10% of the music on the disk
POS phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HTC is fixing nothing (or not much) for the HD2. I believe they have disabandond the HD2 and are focussing on delivering the HD3 with Windows Phone 7.
Hoping that every HD2 user will buy the HD3 out of frustration.
The HD2 is/was a promissing machine, but HTC sense is so buggy that its unsuable 3x resets a day is way to much. I purchased the replacement shell from SPB, my HD2 is now working reasonably normal.
What I do is, after syncing (I use WMP7 for that) the SD card (in the HD2) , I scan my SD card with a soft called MP3 tag (www . mp3tag . de/en), select all files and click on the save button to save the tags.
My MP3 tag is default set to ID3V2.3 ISO-8859-1 (if I'm not mistaking).
So it saves the tags in a format that the HD2 understands.
I have the same issue with my Car Radio.
I need to do this everytime I sync my HTC SD card.
