Once again, instal a panel
yesterday my weatherforecast on the spb-panel also stayed black !!?
like contaygious wrote, a restart didn't solve the problem. but today surprisingly it worked again ! note: i didn't make any changes...
yeah mine just worked again too without doing anything. Weird!

so here are my specs:
Cyanogen's 3.4 and his 1.2 recovery rom.
H's SPL and the newest radio.
Hero 1.2 theme.
So the problem I've been running into lately (which is the past few days) is that my screen just shuts off all of the sudden.
Like as I'm scrolling and reading news from the USA Today app, the screen shuts off and goes blank as if it was locking the screen.
I press menu of course to wake up my screen/phone and my phone seem normal.
This also happens when I get a notification for an email then click it and instead of it opening my gmail, the screen goes blank like mentioned above.
And when i press menu to wake it up, the screen that my phone is on is the gmail app.
Another instance is when I'm twitdroid and want to click a twitpic link to see a pic, it goes blank again. When I wake it up, it's at the twitpic page in the browser.
It's so odd to me because I'm physically using the touchscreen and then my screen goes to sleep. Before it happened my once in awhile, now it's more consistent... and getting rather annoying.
I've also been getting more lag during transitions.
Anyone else run into this? Know of any fix or why this happens?
Is it the theme? Transitions?

It might help to post a log from around the time the undesired backlight/screen shutting off is occurring.

Have you tried to reflash your current ROM? Wipe? Try a different ROM?
These are basic troubleshooting steps you should attempt before creating a new thread.

umm how do you know if i did or did not wipe and re-flashed my current rom and/or tried to do basic troubleshooting before making this thread?

i've been having these problems too. for the screen backlight problem, i just rebooted and it seems to work fine now. but the lagging is quite annoying at times, especially the gmail app.

well that's what i'm assuming because when it happens to me, i see it dim first, then shut off.
Can anyone explain what would make THIS happen? I had Widget Locker installed for a minute and when I uninstalled, I still had a normal lock screen. Now this.

Try rebooting. This happened to me when I installed CM7, and then every time I change themes. A reboot always fixed it for me. Good luck!
Rebooting didn't work... IF i had lockscreen disabled. Leaving it enabled on reboot worked.
It could also be fixed by going into spare parts and unchecking compatibility mode. I had the same problem and i was like wtf. It did the same thing on a few apps.

Yup. I had this problem with Phiremod when I enabled the lock screen. What's worse is I enabled a password and found that when you slide this particular unlock screen, the password screen is small and only shows a portion of the number pad, so I was unable to enter my PIN. I'm told that a hard reboot would have fixed it, but I didn't realize it at the time, so I actually reinstalled Phiremod before doing the "compatibility mode uncheck" fix.
Over the past few days I have noticed that my D800 will randomly restart. It does it in this way every time...I will go to unlock the phone by double tapping and the front LED will turn white as it is supposed to, then it will just hang there with a black screen until the ATT logo shows again and it boots back into my lock screen. Why is this happening? Has it happened to anyone else? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Opps i just started a topic on this. I have sprint g2 and i was suffering the same issues. I dont know what i did to fix it. But it seems fine now.

hello, I experienced the same trouble last week. I remove Gmail (as it was proposed in an other thread) and reinstall it. Since then, no more reboot . It seems that one update of Gmail is creating some trouble.
cross the fingers it does not appear again ;0)

Thank you for the suggestion! I had just uninstalled via Titanium Backup and re-installed from the play store. I'll let you know if it happens again. thanks!
Hello, yersterday night my phone was working perfectly fine, but this morning when I woke up I saw the display turned pink with 4 black stripes, I cant post pictures links, but I uploaded it to imgur.com / gsiX0m0.jpg (no spaces)
So, I reseted the phone in case that would fixt but since then I cant access, when I press the central button the screen turns on perfectly fine with normal colors and the touchscreen working, but after 2 or 3 seconds the screen turns pink agai and I cant click on it, atfer turning pink it starts to fade it away slowly (or some times it just turns off and auto resets instantly) and I have to wait around other 10 minutes to be able to turn it on again for other 2 or 3 seconds.
Any idea what this could be?
Also my computer is not detecting it...

Thats weird & sad. Did you manage to reset the phone? Are you rooted? Do you have xposed or any screen dimming app installed?

Phone is auto reseting every 2 minutes, its not rooted and I dont have those apps...

I think your gpu is damanged. If you still have warranty then send it back and let it repair.

resetting or restarting?
xXPR0T0TYPEXx is probably correct, but i would recommend that you try another battery if you have one available before sending it back.
I got my Mi A1 from Flipkart last month.I am facing a problem . I got a whatsapp message when i was using the phone then the screen blacked out and it turned into black white (on-off on- off alternatively and automatically and it wont stop) , black white alternatively.It will aslo wont unlock.. Even if i tried restarting , the same happened again after the phone boots ..it just unlocks for a few seconds as soon as it boots...and again goes into that black white (on-off) mode..
it had already happened once before...within that few seconds i uninstalled whatsapp and it worked again normally...It has happened for a 2nd time...first one was before September update and now again...

Have you tried to reset the device? If you can rollback the OS you could wait for a new update that fixes the issue.

There's a bug. Turn off ambient display under display. If it happens again then hold the power button to reboot your device.
