[Q/REQ] Password Screen - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

Ok, so pretty much everyone know that you can set your phone to have a password after it hasn't been used for a certain amount of time, but it is a very ugly plain screen.
So my question is, is there a way to skin it or is there another app out there like S2U2, but instead a password screen like the iphone?
I would appreciate any responses

I'm a weak programmer, but I'll look into what's required in coding this.
I encourage anyone else to pass me on this, but I'll see what I can do, but I doubt I'll make much progress.

I was hoping some coder could also do this. It does look ugly :| and I haven't found any other app that seems like a good replacement. I mean ThrottleLock is okay. But I need a number lock.

developers knock yourself out ? (or is it out yet ?)

Hai everyone,
Today i looked at a clip from a iphone with a great app.....
the screen looks (damned whats the word of this...) online translators says "bay"
anyway, i looked with the search option but could not find it, so when its already here i apologize...
the clip http://www.dumpert.nl/mediabase/348731/de1548cf/beslagen_iphone.html
Bump
This is pretty cool +1
Maybe we could integrate it into s2u2 or as a screen saver?
How the f***??? That's the perfect app for locking our screen!!!
u got my donation for this one
Wow! Can confirm this is completely SFW as opposed to a previous suggestion.
wow this is very cool.
No developer interested in this challenge ??
It's a stupid app that serves no purpose. Kind of like 90% of the IPhone apps on the market... No wonder none of us want anything to do with this crap
hahaha... imagine unlocking by this method when you want to do something fast (check what's the time, write a SMS message, check timetables, etc.)...
It would be like that:
Actual action - 1 minute
Unlocking - about three
And don't forget Diamond has no multitouch so you would have to do it with single finger. Have fun

Said by the guy who lives in Las Vegas, Romania Why does everything have to have a purpose? Life can be fun too ya know, sometimes it's good just to take time out and do "useless", fun things I think this would be fun to have on a Windows Mobile Phone, but that's my opinion.

when you look on your Diamond 90% of the apps are bs, its just making your phone more fun.

I don't have any "bs" apps on my phone ( I have a touch Pro, if you bothered to check my signature). Maybe you do! I actually use every application on my phone for something.
What's with all the bashing in this thread? Everyone is a different user. Get over it!
This looks pretty cool and I'd like to see this on my Diamond, that's for sure...
I just find it funny that some user noobs (members and under) like myself try and stand up to NRGZ and Sergio whom both have published many apps which i currently have, and use on my phone. I side with them, they are spending their time programing way better programs for our abuse, not wasting their time for a trivial screen lock when theres a handful of locking applications out there.
just my two penneth!
this app is just plain silly useless fun! if it makes folk laugh then its worth it!

Well, you know what:
Those "very superb developers" that love to do IMPORTANT things, can do so...
But I guess, either they have a lot of time to spend (and they have already finished whatever they've been working on) or lack the skills/knowledge/etc (whatever, I dunno, I'm not a programmer/developer), so that they can come and comment very non-creatively on something that they don't value. But, it would be better if they just didn't post their negative ideas... Those, really don't help. If someone doesn't want to spend his time on it, then he wouldn't. That includes posting comments only with nonsense/crap/BS... (It would be helpful to hear professional opinions on why that wouldn't work/be coded, though)
Short version: If you push that reply button with an undeniable urge to comment on something, wait on it, it will pass. If you have something to say, it would be more than welcome. That's my motto. (I'm saying this here, because I'm sick of all the negative approach I've seen on this site... Wow, enough for moon!)
And, I would love to see that kind of app on my Diamond too.
PS: iBoobs was the same. Every guy that
a) lacked the skills to code it
b) thought he knew all better than everyone
c) just thought/felt different
d) was pretending to be a very hard business-man
shunned it, declared it was nonsense...
Eventually, hdWobble was released, and it's by far one of the most exciting apps I'd have on my Diamond.

random "task" selector

I'm sorry for posting this here, but I can't think of where else to post it - this is my one stop shop for everything x1!
I have tons of stuff in my phone's task list. they are all equally important and quite diverse. I'd love to have my phone randomly pick one of them and that would be the one i do. This would help my lack of motivation. As it is now, i look at the list of 20 or 30 things, and I think, "yeah, I'm just going to watch TV." because I don't know where to begin.
does such a thing exist? if not, how hard would it be to make it a panel or a plugin or something?
thanks,
Ian
we have a TV show in the UK called Genius. Its basically where people stand on a stage and propose their completely and utterly stupidly useless ideas, yet somehow, these ideas are genius. a panel decides whether or not it is genius.
I say Genius. lol

It's not what you think. Its actually an app that pretty much does it all for you. You don't need to know "code" or anything.

Sharing knowledge..

Ok so after i have seen many people asking about doing things like porting and how to add power menu options and lockscreens( includes me ), i wanted to ask you guys if you can start sharing things like adding power menu options and adding lockscreens here..how to edit settings.apk to show lockscreens option..how to edit mod version when is written in the apk itself.. things like that..im not asking for something wrong right ????
So basicly this is like a guide just like the one jellette posted sometime before here in general, lets make an all in one guide so people dont be all over the place asking posts twice ...well i think i will benefit about this too since i have entered the dev world and its hard lol...no sleepeng well, not eating well, thats me i dont know about you...so what you guys think.. ?

The problem, Bosina, is that people are always asking for guides that already exist here on the site. A search of xda will show you how to add am / pm toggle, lockscreens, power options, porting apps etc..

Let me also add that sending a dev a request and only giving two options: tell me how or write a guide is not the way to request help. There is a 3rd and 4th option: walk me through it when you get the time (like I have done a lot) or don't help if you don't have the free time right now.
A dev works hard to pump out the best roms. They do not always have the time to walk away from their own project to fix someone elses.
I recently walked a "dev" through a port 100% from start to finish. That earned me a little line of thanks at the bottom of his OP and earned him a big arse line at the top of his OP stating that HE worked real hard to get the port bug free.... This ruins it for others, like yourself, when you ask for help.
Can I write you a guide and send you some files please?

who did this, that whore.
I usually have no trouble teaching someone or sharing any knowledge I (might) have, but when people message me and want things but have no idea how or why something is, it's annoying.
I know that's a little vague, so let me make it clearer: if you are going to PM someone and ask them how to do something you damn well better make sure of the following
1) you have Google searched the issue for at least 9999 hours
---- (tip: try using "site:xda-developers.com" in google)
2) you have tried doing this yourself
3) you at least have some idea of how whatever you're asking about works
4) you aren't asking said person TO do it, but rather HOW
And Bosina (and everyone else), I know guides are useful and all... but anyone can follow a guide. You need to learn HOW this stuff works

I was being sarcastic bosina. I would love to learn this stuff but theres no way I would come out and start asking people how to do it. Id learn 100% of everything from just research and reading myself. Take in part, my JIGs, I figured out how to make them through research and development and never asked anyone how to do it, and I only got ideas from KidDynamite on the fancy lanyards I use because I wanted a nice adjustable lanyard system, but had no clue what to use, and he being ex military suggested I use 550 Paracord and a cord lock... Techie type people like high quality full of fancy specs stuff like military grade 550 cord.

[REQUEST] A developer to work pro bono (Occupy movement)

Hi,
I am wondering if there is any developer out there who is sympathetic to the Occupy movement, and would like to design an Android app for one of the Occupy locations. Ideally it would collate posts from Facebook, Twitter, and the website, maybe in three screens that you can swipe between (kind of ICS style if you know what I mean?).
If anyone's interested or knows anyone who might be then please PM me
Thanks in advance
Rediculous
Try Googling "dump.apk"
You're better off asking on Reddit.

I think George Soros can help. He can handle all the brownshirt code.
Maybe you're better off having a mobile website setup for this kind of stuff instead of an Android app (that only works with android, instead of iOS, BB, Windows Mobile..etc).

Aren't you lot getting tired of everyone else doing everything for you?
It's called specialization, we do what we're good at, no need to go back to ancient times & relearn everything. It's how modern societies work, welcome.

Oh right, learning. You say 'we do what we're good at' - that's what, protesting? I can't tell if you're being sardonic, parodying a stereotype. Like going back to ancient times to learn how to write an Android app. Welcome?
This site is for active development. Which means it is a tool to help you learn to do these things on your own. Not ask others to do it for you.
