I am so confused...
What is the difference between the two? Doesn't Windows Live Mobile come with Windows Live Search?
I heard that Windows Live Mobile syncs your MSN contacts over and duplicates it in your contacts list, I DO NOT WANT THAT TO HAPPEN.
What version should i use of each program if I don't want the contact duplication problem? I am using the AX3L cooked rom on my Trinity, can some please help to shine some light into this? There seems to be so many different builds and versions for this that i have read. Your opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Microsoft has really confusing branding.
Windows live search is microsoft's search engine at live.com
Windows live search mobile is a program for mobiles that is basically a mapping/local search program
Windows live messenger is an program for mobiles that is basically an IM/Email program that works with your MSN account. I think this program is also labeled as "MSN" on some devices/installations.
Does that clear things up?
I've got a question regarding checking hotmail online.
When I goto www.hotmail.com I can login, it takes a while before I get to my default home screen of Hotmail, but when I click on "Inbox" it doesn't respond and I have to open the link in a new tab; still not the way, but okay. When I'm in my "Inbox" tab and want to click on a message, still nothing happens. I see it selects the message (as it does at the main screen of hotmail when selecting my "Inbox" as well) but it doesn't go further after that. Okay, then the way to open in a new tab then; it just opens a new tab, but with javascipt().... in the address bar....
I know you can check your mail by setting up (or automatically let HD set it up for you) in the device itself, but I don't want to use that feature.
Does anyone else have this problem too, or know what can be done to let this work? Do I have to install a different java application for it, or someting else?
Thanks in advance.

I'm having same problem
Tried Hotmail Mobile?
mobile.live.com/hm/folder.aspx
Also, try editing your "Reading pane settings" in the Options, see if any of those other settings help you.

Yes, I've tried Hotmail Mobile as well, and that works. The normal html version still not.

I also performed a hard reset yesterday, and it's a little diffent now: I can get into the main screen, can even select my inbox, it redirects correctly, but if I want to select a message now, it doesn't do anything... strange... Before the reset, I was able te open it in a new tab by holding the link, but not anymore....
I've also seen it at another site(s), but don't which one that were. But it would be nice that it will work fine as well. So it has nothing to do with Java or something like that?

Now, my friend gave me her Herm100 so that i can fix a few problems...
And that worked out great, i got ALMOST everything working.
Except, When she trys logging in on MSN, It Signs In with her FIRST profile.
Now, she got a new windows live account, For work use.
But every time she logs in, it takes her to her Old account.
Is there any way i can reset the Settings from Start.
Or, is there any other "Messenger" Programs. Particularly for MSN.
-Thanks
Possible Solution
If you are using Windows Live Messenger then there should be an icon called “Windows Live” in your programs menu. If it is not there then it is installed as standard in the Windows directory and is called “WLMLauncher”
Click on the icon and open the application, then click menu and account options.
You should be able to switch your Windows Live ID in there.
I hope this helps,
Dave.

I have tried but I can not seem to get this to happen on my phone.
Which version of Messenger are you using?
Also, are you synchronising your e-mail?
I am not sure but if you are synchronising your mail then it might be worth checking your server settings in active sync. This is just a guess but it might be attached to your MSN account.
I have searched the registry and there are two places where it mentions my MSN account. I deleted them but it did not seem to reset the logon under messenger. I suggest you search your registry for them and try renaming / deleting the keys referencing your account and see if that enables you to change it.
I hope some of this is of use to you, let me know the MSN version you are using, I am using Windows Live for Windows Mobile Version 10.6.0034.0800
Dave.
I posted a few attachments, check them out.
I can not seem to get my messenger to do that.
Can you please click about and tell me which version number of MSN you have?
I think a good first step would be to try reinstalling Windows Live (If you have not already done so). You can find the cab file on the following page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334621
I suggest you pick "Windows Live 10.6.0034.0800 (Fixed).zip" as it is the same version I have got and no matter what I have tried I can not get the same error as you!
Good Luck!
Dave.
Okay, now I have installed 10.6.0034.0800.
And the problem still goes on.
Its okay i guess.
Registry
I can not replicate your problem so I am only try it guess now.
Can you try doing a search of the registry and removing any reference to your windows live account and see if that changes anything?
Alternatively you could uninstall Windows Live and then remove all the registry keys relating to Windows Live and then try a reinstall.
Sorry this is getting a bit vague but I can not replicate what is happening on your phone.
Dave.
I recently installed Windows Live Messenger on a HTC Vox for a friend of mine and had the same error not being able to set the account. I installed Windows Live 10.6.0033.0600 and that fixed it.

Don't know. Haven't seen this. I use Office 2007 and Word Mobile without problem. Except that some documents (but not all) saved by Word 2007 as DOC (ie old format) cannot be read by Word Mobile. I still haven't figured out the criteria involved.
how do you send it to your phone?
i'd guess you should check to see if it is read only. (and if it was an email attachment then it probably is read only)
can you "save as" to another filename?
i have just dragged it onto my sd card, and dragged it off to another machine and it was ok, but wont let me edit on the phone ?
I am pretty sure there is a save option in Word to ensure backward compatibility with older versions, but it is (true to Microsoft form) not the default setting for saves.
I am still using the old Word Mobile 2007 (WM6.1), because in the new 2010 version you need for selcting text always go the menu first (Edit -> select text or something like this).
I recognized in the older 2007 version that you can't select sometimes the text with the finger. Really weird. With other files you can select like butter.
I attached 2 files:
1.txt selecting works
2.txt doesn't work for me
Does anyone knows from what this depends or knows for selecting text at once in word mobile 2010 without using first the menu?
Hi guys,
This might be a very simple thing but somehow I am missing it. I have linked 3 accounts for a contact(linkedin, facebook and windows live). But my focus is selecting the name from windows live as default. Anyway to change it to something from another account say facebook? All I can see in the pencil icon is to manually edit the name. Is this the only solution, to manually edit the names to that in facebook or linkedin?
You cannot edit facebook and linkedin profile. They are read only.

Unfortunately, there isn't a straightforward way to do this correctly and solve your issue. All this is due to people syncing their contacts to Windows Live and using WP7. MS has suggested we shouldn't sync contacts on WP7 using Windows Live. I personally had issues while doing so and I switched to Gmail/Outlook and never had an issue since.
Settings/application/people
in "filter my contact list" deselect Wildows Live
this is known to create issues.
Alternatively at the bottom, tap "Windows Live" and check if you can un/check "sync contacts". If you can't you have to do it on a PC (browser).
Ok will try to migrate my contacts from windows live to google.. Hope that will solve the issue.. thanks guys..
Goto people>Select settings>Filter My contacts.. Here you can select any account.
You link contacts too by going into a specific contact and click on the middle option(looks like a chain). By doing this you can reduce the number of contacts being displayed!! Hope this helps
Windows Live should do a better job for contacts feature.

No argue here. However, syncing contacts to Windows Live is not something recommended for WP7. I've had several issues myself and also others had reported problems syncing (contacts reverted to the online list etc). A quick search for contact sync issue reveals several threads on MS Answers: here, here, here, here etc...
