Hi Folks,
a Friend of mine just got his Touch HD. It´s sold by O2 Germany. When he goes to the Programs-Tab hes not able to replace some Programs like Opera, YouTube etc. They are signed with an little Lock Symbol. My Touch HD was original from HTC and on my Device i could replace any Programs.
Here´s my Question: How to replace the Programs in the Programs-Tab at an O2 Branding? Is there a registry Key to change this?
Each icon (24 Total, named 0 to 23) can be locked / Unlocked.
Seems O2 locked all of them ...
you can unlock anyone by changing isReadOnly to 0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila\ProgramLauncher\0 to 23\IsReadOnly=0

I like the O2 skin and I would like to put it on my XDA mini (upgraded with french Qtek rom, that why I lost all O2 skin :roll: )
I saved the 02 theme, I get the splash screen on the ftp but I forget to save phone buttons (in fact, I saved dlr.gif and dlr_land.gif BUT that's not enought )
Button "down" and right area of the phonepad are missing. :evil:
Is there any friendly O2 Xda mini user that could send me on a zip file all .gif files on the Windows directory ?

I got my Universal [O2 XDA Exec] today, its a replacement for my old Ipaq H5550. So far i'm very impressed with the PPC side of it. But totally lost with the phone side
One of the things i've already discovered is its not locked to O2, and i've already tested it with my Orange PAYG sim. Which is the reason for this post.
Is there a way to use the O2 settings/servers to daytime [work] use, and the Orange settings/servers for night [playtime] ?
I don't need a one button solution, i don't mind getting a little messy.
if you can extract the cab files for operator settings fro the orange and o2 extended rom and save them as read only on your device you could just run the one you want to use and soft reset.

OK, had a look in the Ext ROM folders, but theres no clues in their names, and I don't know enough about CAB's to pull them apart.
I did find a thread explaining what the CAB's in the O2 Ext ROM do, and a modified CAB with just the O2 settings, [Thanks Dingo].
Can anyone tell me if someone has made a simular CAB for the Orange settings, or which CAB's in the Orange Ext ROM the settings are in ?

i've had chance to play with v1605 in Vodafone UK shop and i've noticed that vodafone has ripped off default Windows Mobile Today plugins, such as calendar, todo list, owner information etc. personally i really think it's crap thing to do, but is there any way to get them back? some reghack or maybe installing them from some .cab? anyone who using vodafone's Hermes/TyTN found way to do it?
btw, the model which i played with, had S/N HT626 and in fact some keys on sliding keyboard needed more pressure to make them work. other interesing news - it was unlocked! my Virgin Mobile SIM card worked fine.

thanks, however since i have MDA Vario II with all standard plugins present, i don't need that solution any more. but maybe someone else will find it useful.

I have a htc touch diamond.I's from vodafone cuz the vodafone crap appears when it starts and it's in french language.I sim unlocked it, the updated the rom to HardSPL 1.30 i think, but I still have the vodafone when it starts.I want to get rid of that and to change the language to english, I searched on the forum but I can't find anything.And also on my stand by screen the time and date and the touchFlo3d menu is in red how can I make it black?do I get rid of all this if I update to the latest htc touch diamond update on htc site?

Sounds like you are going down the right path. Now that you have the phone unlocked you just have to find a rom that you like. Sounds like you loaded a stock vodafone rom if at all, hard to tell. One thing to be aware of is if the phone is cdma or gsm. Once you find a rom you like it will make all the difference in the world and most of the roms are in wwe(english). Hope this helps!

SIM = Voda-phone? Well IMO if that's your provider, you'll see their 'message'. If you want something else; change provider soon
