How to sync playlists with MediMonkey for TF3D-Music? - Touch HD General

I use MediaMonkey to organize my MP3s.
Syncing my Music to the HD is no problem.
The MP3s get copied to \<microSD>\Music\Artist\Album\xxx.mp3
AlbumArt does also work with TF3D-Music Player.
But who do I sync/copy playlists with MediaMonkey to the hd?
MediMonkey copies the selected playlist to \<microSD>\playlists\ wich is correct for WMP.
But the TF3D-Music Player searches in \Application Data\HTC\AudioManager_Eng\playlists\ for playlists.
And MediaMonkey canot copy the playlist there.
1. I connected the HD as "File Mode" via USB (not "ActiveSync" or "Modem"). So there is no access to this path.
2. If I would connect the HD via "Active Sync", MediMonkey would not know to copy the playlists to that path and to correct the relative path in the playlist.
I although couldn't find any Reg-key to change the playlist-folder of TF3D-Music.
I hope you understand what I am saying.
And maybe can give me a solution.
btw: No, I dont want to use Windows Media Player to sync my MP3s.

Default location for music on device?

Hello,
This question may not be appropriate to ask, but i don't see a WM5 forum. I am using Windows media player 11 to sync music to my device (not storage card). It syncs the music files to the \Music\ of my device instead of \My Documents\My Music\ . This seems hella strange. How do i change the path to which my music will sync?
Thanks

Media Panel doesn't recognise playlists...

I deleted all of my music and incidentally, the playlists from my storage card and set the X1 up for autosync with WMP11. The music and the playlists went into directories on my storage card called "Music" and "Playlists". The playlists appear in the multimedia player accessed from the spb panel but do not appear in the sony media panel! I found out that if you create a playlist through the Media Panel, these gointo the device itself under "My Documents/My Music and these are not compatible with the media player versions - great!
Anyone know of a fix for this as I dont want to recreate all of my playlists so that I can use them in the media panel!
Regards,
Alan
I just discovered the same thing. This is a annoying. I have set up several auto playlists in WMP11 and they sync just fine with my other MP3 (which I hoped that the X1 could replace, even bought 16Gb microSD card for this). Now I have to recreate these playlists again on the X1.
I had the same issue. Decided to go the apple way. Got all of my music and playlists setup on iTunes. Installed Pocket Tunes for the sync portion and it copied all of my music and itunes playlists to my SD card. So far, it's been very very stable, keeps in sync, the playlists are recognized by SE media panel and most other winmo media players because they're standard .m3u format.

I have been working on this all weekend. After syncing a small playlist it all seemed to work. Then I started to re-rate all 2000+ songs in my library (as WMP does not store the ratings in the MP3 tags, iTunes did not import those ratings) as I often use playlists based on ratings. I finally started to sync all my music and pocket tunes sync keeps crashing This is very annoying.
Does anyone have another solution to get your MP3 library synchronized on your Xperia with working playlists in the Media Panel?
P.S. I also tried S2P. It look great, but it keeps crashing as my library is over 8Gb.
What version of windows are you currently running? I'm on XP and my version of Pocket Tunes is 4.1.2045 . Another option is to get the free windows version of Salling Media Sync, it'll sync your iTunes library as well as playlists, but to get it to work you have to switch your USB to PC settings so that your phone works as a mass storage device and bypasses active sync.

I am using Vista Business 32 bit. I am currently testing Salling Media Sync right now. I had it first on ActiveX USB to PC setting, which gave problems. I just discovered that I have to switch it and am now testing it with the mass storage device setting. For me that would not be a problem, as I generally sync my Outlook and files either via Bluetooth or GPRS/HDSPA.
Here's something else I found, I may try it out tomorrow http://ita.sourceforge.net/ , it's called iTunes Agent.

I saw that one, but you can only synchronize ONE playlist with your device, not multiple playlists that will also be available as multiple playlists on the device itself.
I think your issue with all these sync programs is Vista compatibility. If you get a chance, try XP, if you can't, try running xp on a virtual machine within your Vista install.
Another thing you can try is, right click on your pocket tunes executable go to properties and do a "run as administrator" on it, also select the compatibility mode to Windows XP, hopefully, it won't crash the next time.

Music syncs but won’t play

I have a problem with getting music that I have synchronised from Windows Media Player 12 (Windows 7) to play on my TD2. I have the 6.5 Rom but the same problem existed with 6.1. I have tried this on two Windows 7 PCs with the same results.
I connect using Windows Mobile Device Centre and then select tracks in WMP to synchronise. They are converted and then sync fine and appear on my TD2 (internal memory or storage card) in what looks like the correct format, but although the Artist, Album Name and Track Name are recognised by Windows Explorer, the tracks appear in the various Media Player sort-by views (Album, Artist etc) as ‘Unknown Album’ and ‘Unknown Track’. When I try to play the tracks it comes up in either the basic Media Player or the HTC version but will not play and just says ‘Error’.
Oddly, if I just copy the track files from my Server directly to the TD2 Storage Card without converting them they play fine. However, as all of my music is stored on my Server as Lossless this direct transfer option is not practical because of the very large file sizes involved.
Also odd is that if I use an old Windows XP PC with Windows Media Player 11, everything syncs and plays as it should.
A Forum and Google search on this has not turned up anything, but I am hoping that one of you will have an idea as to what the problem and solution is.
Solved this for myself, but others might find the solution helpful.
If I use ActiveSync to connect to my PC the files sync but will not play. If I select the Disk Drive connection option they sync AND play fine. Presumably a problem/bug in Windows 7 ActiveSync (Mobile Device Center).

Problem syncing audio to HD2

Hi,
I have a strange problem syncing audio to my HD2 (and for that mater an old ETEN X800 as well - so I think its a WM6.x problem in general). My PC music library is stored in lossless wma format. I use Media Player 12 under Win7 x64 to sync to the HD2 having it transcode to 128k wma.
Once synced to the HD2, Media Player on the HD2 will not play the files. It gives the error "Cannot perform the requested action". The original files are not DRM they were ripped from my own CDs. I have an old SD card with the same library of music ripped to the same format which was synced using Vista under WMP11 on an older phone and these will play!
If I turn off the "Convert files" option in WMP12 and sync an MP3 file it plays - so its only wma files that are effected.
It seems there is some compatibility issue between WMP12 transcoded wma files and Windows Mobile ? I know there are other tools around to sync music, I'd just like to keep all syncing to the one process (email, nusic etc)

you will probably get better results if you move the music to the sd card directly, not using sync.
If I use a third-party converter to convert the same file to 128k wma and then copy it manually it plays fine, so it's definitely an issue with WMP12 syncing.
Copying the "broken" wma back to a PC it will play though in WMP12 but its tags in explorer are missing!

Music playlist empty when viewing on PC?

I created a playlist on the Music app, and when I transfer the playlist file to my PC the file is 0kb and is empty. When browsing files on my phone, the playlist file called "playlist.pla" and the details display it as 0kb. But the playlist still shows and plays songs correctly.
Can someone help me get my playlist from my phone into a readable state on my PC?
