Best Rom - Touch GSM General

Just about to take delivery of my Touch - what is currently the best rom to flash?

There really is no 'best' rom. It's your personal preference what you believe it to be. Best to try out the ones you're interested in and make the judgment call yourself.

i'm quite pleased with the official wm6.1 and touchflo2d rom from HTC

official? You don't have an Elf GSM, do you?

POLL : Which is the best cooked HD2 ROM?

Hi all,
With so many cooked HD2 ROMS now available I was wondering which one in all the users opinions is the best. By best I mean most stable and usable on a day to day basis with no annoying bugs creeping in nown and again
POLL time..........
I think that that depends on the personal predilections.
There isn't any "best cooked" Rom!!! You have to test more than one Rom and find your favorite...

Well sorry ianmanson but you will have to stop wondering about this from a poll perspective as this thread will be closed down immediately. Each chef takes there time with there Rom's and they don't need criticism like this from the overall forum.
Please take some time to sift through each of the rom's and try them out yourself as this type of thread creates problems between the members here.
Thank you for your understanding..
ohnoes!!! I see either a) flame war starting; b) closed imminently.
Think about all the ROM chefs you offended by not including their Roms?
I can name about 10 you missed off and I only browse here.
In all honesty the most reliable, stable and speedy ROM will probably be an official one. they certainly arent slow!!!
im in a closed thread
Apologies if I offended anyone, Im sure many people out there may be thinking the same as me.
I don't have time to install 20+ ROMS so I thought a poll may be of use to both myself and some other members.
I took the options from the top 7 viewed ROM threads but if it is indeed a problem then please do close the thread down.
Many Thanks,

What is the best ROM for HTC HD2?

I'm using "EnergyROM 23541/21892" and I'm looking for something better and faster !
I have to say it's pretty confusing and overwhelming when you arrive here. Couldn't answer this myself, there should be a poll thread like there are on Modaco to help newbies.
This again, why dont you start trying some to see what you like...they are all good
For cutting edge ROMs - look at Miri's or Dutty's HG ROMs
For super clean - look at CleanEx (new ROM but already looks like it could be a goodun)
This is all subjective to personal opinion and taste. Best advice is to read through some of the posts and try for yourself.

Definitely the ARTEMIS !!
So indeed this is where a poll would be useful, look at all those different answers!
I think rather than a 'what is best' it would be much better to have a comparison page where all the chefs could update with the important information and a link to their forum page - so for example it would have a table with the chef name, driver version, manila version, rom version etc... and perhaps a few key points such as applications added/removed from stock ROM...
A first point of call so you can quickly see who has released a new ROM, and see its details
What this should NOT include is any star rating/number of downloads etc...
This is an easy question to answer, I think!
For any user unwilling to do a bit of research and learn about differences between ROM's, the best ROM is obviously the one they already have!

Another thing...
I'm using "EnergyROM 23541/21892" and I'm looking for something better and faster !

the hd2 can't have any preferences, you on the other hand might have some.
thus, the question becomes 'which of the roms might be the best for me?'
so the solution my friend, lies entirely in your hands
happy flashing mate
this will be closed v soon. i have seen many threads on this topic they all closed. so u have to try ur self and find what is the best. tast r difarent. for me Dutty's HG
Thats like asking
"What is the best console" or even "What is the best programming language".
Simply put, it comes down to personal opinion, while one person might rate a rom good for its long battery life, another person rates the rom bad because it didnt come with his favorite video player installed (just examples, i know battery life is more related to radio, and you can install apps on all roms)
You could however ask people to write reviews, but theres already a site for that http://xdaroms.com/ and i gotta admit thats not very actively updated/reviewed.
Personally, im always very pleased with Artemis roms, if your looking for the ram or cpu trick, forget i mentioned it, but if your looking for speed and stability alongside the latest wm and manila, check out the thread (read peoples replys a bit/read changelog/look at screens to get an idea of the rom)
The first time it can be a little scary to flash your phone, but after a while you will get the hang of it, its really not that hard or dangerous, just read the thread about flashing.
As long as you read the (help & specific rom) threads, it'll be just fine
I agree... If like me, you need a ROM which allows for Chinese Input, you become more limited in your options... so it really depends on what you need....
I am a bit surprised to see a request like "searching a faster and better ROM".
You should ask different questions, eg. I need this and that in a ROM, which
ones come with it? Even better, do a search yourself!
Dozens of ROMs are available. All of them are fast, all of them are good.
Hundreds of different answers are possible.
If you feel that your device is slow with the ROM you are using, there could be other reasons:
- bad flash
- defective device
I just tell this because after having flashed something like 50 different ROMs over the past three months, not any single one of them made my HD2 slow.

Best rom thread closed?

just saw the closed thread this morning. i dont see the point of closing the thread really.
!aman! closed the thread and said
just try all the ROMs to see which one suits u best and dont start such "best/fastest ROM" threads in future."
i don't see what would hurt if we could open a poll and have everyone vote for which is the 'best overall' rom for the TMOUS HD2. sure it might just come down to users' opinion, but at the same time, who really wants to sit around and take a week or so to really try out EVERY available rom, just to find out which one works out the best? why not make a poll with all of the currently available TMOUS roms, and have a vote? that way noobs, such as myself, can just go straight for the top handful and check them out?
i'm currently using the EVO CELL rom, so far so good. a couple freezezs / delays every now and then, but i didn't do task 29. might give that a shot this weekend and reflash the rom.
you're not a chef and never cooked a rom a day in your life that's why
such threads play favoritism and causes unnecessary competition amongst chefs that do their best to give the community more options and choices.
That's not acceptable at any site (ppcgeeks, htcpedia, xda, any site)
so that's why it was closed and every thread about rom favorite will be closed because its subjective and causes flame wars
Best ROM is subjective as everyone has a different opinion, hence why best ROM threads are closed "use the search you will find many" they can also often lead to flame wars.
Hope this has answered your question and on that note thread closed.

What is the best wp7 rom?

Hi xda peoples
this is a very good way for those who install the rom to be able to install the best roms and save time.
All the experts here intorduce the best roms from introduced roms every week so newly arrived people can make use of them.
The introduced rom should be the best in every aspect :
* the best in cameras
* no bugs
* unlocked
* high speed
* high stability
this action is very useful so try to take part in it
thank you for your cooperation
Dude, are you on crack or just taking the piss?

There's already a thread on this... also, there is no best rom. It's personal preference.
And at this point, all the wp7 roms are pretty much the same... personally don't see the point in having as many as there is, but it's good that there's different cooks and hopefully there will be differences in the roms as they progress. But right now, all the roms have pretty much same tweaks and features... no real difference except maybe the lockscreen picture and a theme color.

[Q] Best rated rom?

Ok, I think it has been a good while now for roms to have been made and chosen which is the overall best rom for the T-Mobile version of this phone. I am curious to what rom most of you use so I can finally install a custom rom on my phone?

If you really, really, really don't want to make an informed decision on your own, just check the numbers of views and replies on the roms threads. And be aware that rom X might have an issue today which rom Y hasn't, while its the other way around after the next release.

That was a very un-informational reply lol. I was looking for what roms most people use. Not how to make my own decision on one
I like his response. Pretty reasonable. The one with the most views and posts are probably the most widely used. Although that doesn't mean that they are the best. Just most used for whatever reason.
OP, due to the nature of these type of Threads we do not allow them....there is no Best ROM, it is up to the Individual to figure what is best for them...the Best ROM's are located here....
