i've made two dialers:
MY ISP
internet
MY WORK NETWORK
mms
all the programs (browsr,mail...) connect through MY ISP (internet)
and only the live messenger disconect the "internet" dialer and try to connect the "internet2" dialer (of course he can't).
i've made another "internet" dialer under MY WORK NETWORK just to see what will happend:
MY ISP
internet
MY WORK NETWORK
internet2
and again all the programs (browsr,mail...) connect through MY ISP (internet)
and only the live messenger disconect the "internet" dialer and connect (successfully) the "internet2" dialer and vice versa.
i've tried to install the latest MSN ...same thing...

Ive just got myself a SanDisk WiFi card and its working perfectly for Internet Explorer, Browsing the Network, Email etc. but I cant get it to work with MSN messenger - each time I go to Messenger it either tries to connect via GPRS first OR fails all together.
Anyone know how to do this?
did you choose that you are on the network and not on the cellphone network inside your connections under connections under settitngs ?
Well in settings, under connections/advanced I changed the settings so that the WiFi netowrk card connects to 'The Internet'. I also tried so that it connects to 'Work' but neither of these work for me?!
Hi all!
I'm having a very strange issue with my Internet connection on the niki.
I have configured the default Internet connection (the one without VPN and Proxy config) to use the ISP parameters to connect to GPRS.
It connects but it's not working (I tried to navigate with IE but got error opening page).
So I created a new connection (in this case I could set up a proxy, but I left empty), with the same ISP config, selected it as the network to be use automatically to connect to internet, and it works very well.
Any idea about this strange behaviour?
Thanks!!!!
Alex

Any one had any problems doing a send/receive on the vodafone branded rom? I've set it up fine but it only seems to want to download them using a specific connection. If I set the network connection to Internet, then I can only download the emails if i'm connected via wifi and the only way to download them if i'm on the go is to go into the advanced server settings a then specify that I want to connect via wap...
It wont let me specify to use any connection available. For example, if there's wifi connection, use that, if not use wap.
Is this a common issue or just with the vodafone branded c**p?
Ok so i've partially resolved my issue above. I removed the proxy settings which now means that if I'm not connected to wifi, it will dial up wap. But now my problem is removing the proxy has removed access to windows live/hotmail. Vodafone have really screwed with the settings it's pi**ed me off... Anyone have a cab for windows live?
I bought my Samsung Omnia a few day ago and I am having some networking problems:
1) It connects rarely to my wireless network unless I provide an IP manually.
2) When I do set up an IP I was put in front of the situation of missing wi-fi button, no connections, no anything.
3) well I am connected as mentioned before and I have the following settings:
Settings->Connections->Browser Connection: Automatically detect settings;Settings->Connections->Connections/ Advanced Tab Select Networks
Internet should connect using: My work network with Proxy Settings: This network connects to the Internet selectedPrivate network should connect using: My work netwokWhen connectd to the PC through the USB cable I can surf the net. Opera browser works well, Internet explorer also, Y!Go works. The thing is I cannot convince my messaging to connect and dowload my Yahoo! mails. I get the following message:Messages cannot be downloaded to your mobile device. Make sure you are connected and that your e-mail acoount settings are correct. Then, try to download message again. My parlingo doesn't work neither. Log in parameters are incorrect which is not true.
What can be the problem?
I forgot to mention that I have installed also F-Secure mobile security, but I don't think this is the poroblem.
Hi there kind people of XDA.
after installing a new rom I encouter a problem with setting up my gmail account. It seems as if the HTC mail client isn't willing to work with my wifi connection and only working with the data (which is disabled).
when I send/recieve, it tells me that it cannot connect and that I should press - settings. After going into settings I have 3 options for my work connection.
the first one is where I think the problem is:
*add a new modem connection.
after I chose that I've been asked to choose a modem and I dont have a wifi ot the broadcom lan card. only bluetooth, cellular line, cellular line (GPRS) and hayes compatible on COM1.
Any idea?
go to settings, connections, connections, advanced, select networks. Then change the first setting to 'work'. I have a dutch version, so the names might be slightly different.
thanks but I already tried it. The problem is that when setting up a new connection I cant use the broadcom as the connection modem!
Now I know my phone isnt using the same network as you. I have only one cellular account that I connect to. For this example I will call it "My Connection" I have that set in Network management to be the default connection for the internet.
Now when I go to my email connection settings I can choose that connection or a few others. If I choose "My Connection" then the email will only connect though cellular data. But if I choose "Internet" then it will connect through both.
So when I have wifi present I can connect with email, mms, surf with opera, and update weather all through wifi. When my wifi goes down or gets turned off everything reverts to cellular data.
ditto - on 1.48 i get 'Internet' as well as the T-mobile internet and T-mobile MMS settings. internet seems to latch onto anything that has a public ip - and starts with wifi.
I have found that one thing which stops email sync is not wifi/HSDPA data, but rather the exchange domain setting disappearing sporadically.
do u have bsb tweaks the same thing happend to me and in bsb i had wifi disable go in bsb and enable it.
