Tweaking Touch HD Lock Function - Touch HD General

I'd like to do two tweaks to my Touch HD but after searching the forums and wiki I still haven't found out how or if these things are possible. I've also looked around both HD Tweak and Advanced Configuration but can't find the tweaks I'm looking for.
1) Under normal behaviour when the device is locked it will automatically minimise any running applications and return to the home tab on TouchFlo3D. When the device is unlocked again the last application used, which is still running, is not restored to the foreground.
I would like the device to either restore the application that was in the foreground, if any, when the device is unlocked (so the home tab is still shown when locked) or otherwise not minimise the application running when the device is locked.
2) Reduce the delay between holding down the 'end call' key and the device locking itself. It is slightly too long for my liking.
Any ideas? For those interested I'm running an application called Bow Buddy to score my arrows in Archery. When using the device these things are two big annoyances as I have to lock the device to ensure no calls are made or my score isn't 'adjusted' when I slip it back into my pocket .
Thanks in advance.

I also think holding the end call button is too long, should be 1 second.

search for application "csdevctrl" . with that solution you can handle all what you like.
Therefor i prefer to disable fast sleep with HTC HD twaek.

mine seems to have a bug, if you set the hd to ask for a lock code when it boots up (i dont mean the pin code) the long hold of the end key doesnt lock it, it seems to be either ask for lock code when start up OR be able to lock it by holding the end key to stop you pressing keys accidentally.
Its a bit of a pain cos i got my tytn stolen and it was only the lock fuction that stopped someone getting all the personal data.

Total screen lock

Every time an event occur on my device, like incomming SMS or so, the screen is enabled and the button lock is turned off. I want the device to play the sound but not unlock the screen and hardware buttons.
Has anyone developed a program that can run in the background and take care of this? I'm sick and tired of taking the phone out of my pocket and ten programs are running and using battery!
Sitting in classroom......recieve SMS (i forgot to turn volume down)........embarrassed....thinking.....I'll read it later.....ten seconds later.... my favorite song is all over the room.....thanks to my windows media player shortcut on the today screen...

something like this? not sure if it'll solve your prob but give it a go...
oops; silly me i forgot to include how the bloody thing works 8)
--------------------------
ScreenLock is a very small and handy tool to turn off a PPC's display, and lock all the hardware keys, including power button. It'll keep your PPC alive even without any program running. It'll help you to save battery power while streaming or downloading big files, or playing music.
To turn on the display and release the lock, just press on the left most hardware button (first button) and the right most hardware button (forth button) simultaneously. Only these two buttons are pressed down together can unlock your PPC.
I can't unlock the screen.....The left most hardwarebutton must be the Startmenu button... and the rightmost must be the OK button.....?
Help i can't unlock my IIs screen at all i have tried most combinations i think, anyone know what it is????????

I've found the perfect application that locks my device! 1-pass from Omega One! It does exactly what I want
Follow this link

1-pass does not pass!
i've been looking for a similar app for ages so downloaded the trial of 1-pass.
After 15 minutes of trying to get it to work I've given up and uninstalled it. Problems I encountered were:-
1) tapping my soft key password did not unlock the machine, it just sat on the 1-pass security screen (there is no enter key to tap after entering the soft key password).
2) activesync claimed the password was incorrect and refused to connect.
I changed password several times, studied the help file and the support web pages but found nothing to help.
Maybe I was missing something, but if I have to spend more than 10 minutes and 3 resets to get something working on my xda II then its not worth keeping it in my opinion.

I'm not sure, but I think you don't have to enter the password. You can just assign the password to the button combination.
According to the help, to enable activesync to connect, you must enter the soft key password. Also I don't remember seeing the option of not assigning a soft key password in settings.

GREETINGS!
It is worth keeping in, if you get it right.
After first installation you get the screen like " Wecome to 1-pass....." wherein you had to feed the hard keys password. The next is "Retype hardware key Password.....", then comes the"Enter backup password", retype it and comes the screen "Thank You the password have been successfully changed. I think this can be done by going to >Start>settings>1-Pass, and then change password.
If the password is not accepted then, any of the two will let u enter the setting.
As far as active synch is concerned, it only accept your backup, softkey password.

Stop accidental key presses?

Anyone have a solution for this? I have my Wizard go to standby after a short time and always make sure it is in standby when I put in in my case. However, when I receive a call and pull it out of the case, I almost always press one of the buttons. So when I answer the phone I have the camera going, contacts open or the connection manager open. I use all the buttons so I don't want to disable them completly. I wash there was a way to disable all buttons except the answer button for like 5 seconds after a call starts ringing. Or, be able to set buttons to not activate unless pressed for 2 seconds or so. Or, require 2 presses to activate. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
Turn on the password (4 digit one is fine) and set to 0 minutes, the phone will "lock" as soon as you go into standby but when it rings you will be able to answer with the red/green buttons but nothing else until you put in your password.
Thanks, I will give that a try. I used a password before but it slowed things down so much that I removed it. I have done quite a bit of optimizing since then and will try it once more.
it does slow the use, and gets annoying (i still use it) but it does work until i find a decent app to do it. All it really needs is 2 touches or 2 buttons to unlock but not found anything yet... \
I have solved this with litle less work .I have Device lock Bar on the top, under date , so you need twice down and middle buton to lock the
device.
device lock doesn't seem to play well with the password application. if you have password activated you can do a device lock but when you put your device on standby and bring it to full power it is unlocked. if you use device lock without password it works.
any solution to lock keyboard during a call ? i always active some functions with my ears(...) when i speak
starseb - switch your phone to stand-by mode... the radio (phone part) should remain on, and you can continue calling. Then just switch it back on when done ( or not %) )
sorry for my english, but i make i make a mistake. i would say how to lock screen during a call.

Try christoph's deltaLock map it to a hw button then set it to be unlocked by the same hw button.

Touch HD makes unwanted calls...

hi there
i got a "small" problem with my touch hd. since im carrying the phone in my pocket, i installed "slide2unlock" to prevent the screen from unlocking itself in my pocket...
thing is - i got numerous complaints from people on my contact list, that i called them (sometimes multiple times in a row) without beeing on the phone... seemed to me that the screen unlocked (by accidently touching/pressing the botton on the top in my pocket) and the now unlocked phone started to do funny stuff like calling people...
problem is, that even with s2u installed AND active, my phone keeps calling people. one time, i held the phone in my hand, started the music player, locked the screen via the top button - and the next moment the screen lit up again (without me touching anything "touchable" like the side- oder top buttons - the screen was locked anyways) and my phone started to call a contact from my contact list.
there seems to be no real schema in what people are called. seems like the phone picks randomly one of my contacts on my list and calles him right away.
how do i stop this? im out of ideas here and this thing is really getting on my (and others) nerves...
According to your through description the problem might be even an exotic thing for WM - a virus. Try Kaspersky mobile
Have you installed any custom phone/dialer applications? Also any scripting applications like mortscript and a badly written script causing it... Also are you using AEButton plus. If so then may be a bug in one of those, still difficult to understand.
Otherwise looks like a real malware something not usually known in WM world

it "might" be the stylus....
the default in s2u2 is to ulnlock on stylus removal if your stylus get caught in you pocket
and pulls far enough out it'll unlock
but anyway check the unock options out in the s2u2 settings
beter yet stick a reply in the s2u2 post and see if anyone else hase a silmilar problem
TC,
Or uninstall that screen-lock application and see if the problem still occurs. If it still occurs, you now know it's nothing to do with the App and perhaps indicates a bigger issue.
Cheers.
Stupid question, but are you locking your screen by pressing and holding the Hang Up key in the bottom right corner?
I find the only way to fully lock the screen to stop the kind of activation you are talking about is to press and hold Hang Up key to lock it.
Then pull out the stylus to unlock, or press the Answer Key followed by the then-displayed unlock key.
Hi,
I have exactly the same issue.
My version of s2u2 is 1.62.
I just changed the option in s2u2 to avoid the phone to turn on when removing the stilus...I will wait and see
Hi,
Even after I have changed the option in s2u2 to avoid the phone to turn on when removing the stilus it seams my phone is still makes some unwanted callings...
Any idea???

ARGH! Any way to disable the Start Menu's "Lock" button or make it not appear?

ARGH! Any way to disable the Start Menu's "Lock" button or make it not appear?
I had an interesting problem that basically results in all data loss if it happens. On a particular Blue Angel I was working on, the touch screen somehow lost its calibration. In attempting to get to the calibration menu, the wonky screen somehow hit "Lock" on the bottom left corner of the Start Menu, and the device locked. Since the touchscreen became uncalibrated there was NO WAY for me to touch the tiny area and slide it properly. Thus I could not unlock the device even though LOCK is something that I NEVER EVER USE. I had to hard reset and lost all data. In WM2003, this would never have been a problem! I imagine if someone does use device lock, a screen decalibration incident would result in all data loss too which is unacceptable!
I tried the classic style lock screen which requires less precision but it still involves the need to touch a specific screen area in order to unlock it.
Is there any way to get rid of the Lock option in the Start Menu competely? A registry key perhaps? I want NOTHING to do with the device lock feature, it just seems to cause more problems and data loss than anything else. Any suggestions?
I believe that I have seen a post or two regarding the soft keys for the Start Menu. I'll see if I can find them.
On a side note, please refrain from opening new threads with questions. There is a Q&A thread at the top of this section for this kind of inquiries. I will transfer your question over there. Thanks.
anybody figure this out? i really would like to know
Lock sucks. If you have the phone locked, and get an incoming call - it doesn't unlock automatically, and there is no way to unlock it on the 'answer phone' screen.
So - you cannot get an incoming call if you use lock.
i dont even use it. i use pocketshield but i dont want the lock button to turn on PS, i want it either gone or to have it set up as a "back" button.
Has anybody managed to get rid of that damn button ? I have been looking around the forum for ages and still can't find a way to get rid of it.

Disabling the lockscreen after waking the phone up

Hi guys!
So I'll have to wait for my preordered HD2 untill 20th November here in Poland, but watching all the preview videos, a question arose in my head. I know the device isn't out yet, but its rom builds are already flying around, so maybe someone knows the answer. Will it be possible to disable showing of the lock screen after waking up the phone with the end call/power button and the device taking you immediately to the homescreen? I'm used to that on my TD2, and I think that using the phone this way is just much faster.
If i have undersood ur question correctly by completely disabling lock screen of ur future Leo, then yeah, thats possible. If u navigate through ur moving cursor to Settings, then Sound and Display and finally to Backlight options, there two options exist, when phone its on battery and/or External power, to either set the time limit to have the screen locked (and dim backlight of course) or to completely diselect it, which actually disables Leo to show and/or show lock screen.
Hope that clarification helped you
It sure did, thanks a lot I just hope that the buttons on the face of the HD2 will turn out to be as "shallow", flat and "stiff" as they look like in the vids, so that no accidental pressing of the end key while the device is in the pocket will be possible in practice

I did not think about the accidental pressing of END key before, but this will surely worry me, atleast I get the handset myself and test it in real-life...
Well even if any accidental cliks will be happening, then the lock screen will actually come in handy
well even if the buttons get pressed somehow, the screen won't react to pressure so only buttons will work if there's no lockscreen
You're right, good point hehe I guess all of us WM fans will have to get used to capacitive screens and their advantages/disadvantages
I think there will be 2 potential risks...
1. "Send" button is pressed accidentally more than once (last dialed number will be dialed)
2. Any keys get accidentally pressed continuously (device will remain on impacting battery life)
So yet a good screen locking solution will be recommended
3. "end call/power" button pressed and hold -> device turns off (at least I think so..or is there a "confirmation screen"??) -> you don't get any incoming calls/messages/etc at all =)
Btw, if you turn off the stuff as B3ler3fonte said, would there be any locking at all? So would touchscreen etc be allways "ready" and consuming battery?
In my Diamond2 (I dont use any lock screen or anything) when the screen is turned off and I press long the power button, the confirmation for powering off the device does in fact pop up, but the screen remains turned off, so its impossible to confirm the power off prompt (I see the prompt popped up when I press the pwr button once again to turn on the screen). So probably no threat from here. And even if the screen activates and the prompt for turning off the phone does come out, there's no way of confirming it in your pocket - thats the capacitive screen advantage. But the battery draining issues may occur at some scale... I guess we'll see how it all turns out in real life. The probably unavoidable problem will be if the end button would be possible to get pressed by accident - then we would be facing constant battery drainage with the lockscreen always appearing for no reason.

That could help but won't much, because(at least current models) they wake up upon any reminder, battery low, call, text, etc. Besides you will have to use both hands to turn phone on (the top button, unless you got ET fingers ) HD is tall...
Cannot see that menu item

Sorry but there is no setting for lockscreen in this menu. There is only settings for the backlight in battery or charged mode.
There is no control for the lockscreen at all Still looking for a way to completely disable this damned lockscreen.
Agreed - even the entry in the Settings tab that claims to control the lockscreen seems to have no impact (I have mine set to 12 hours and it completely ignores that) and the standard registry hacks don't seem to have any effect.
This is a real puzzler!
