set system sounds near silent - Touch HD General

hi^^
I have a problem, using a lot my earplug. the thing is, when I listen to music and a system sound comes, it blows my mind away. .. could I disable this sounds, or better, just decrease the volume? I don't need this sounds, okay , sometimes they are helpful, but mostly it's just annoying.. I think there must be a registry entry to change that, shouldn't it? thanks for your help!!

Sound Problem on 8525

I've search some boards but haven't found an answer for this. It just happened today.
After listening to xmradio, I tried to surf the net, but as usual, my phone dropped its internet connection. The only way to get it back is through soft reboot which I did. After that, no sound from the speak. Headphones work but the speaker doesn't...but it does at least when I use the phone on speaker phone. If I try to play any other sound from like Winampq or Windows Media Player, no sound.
I did reduce the volume on the start up sound so it doesn't play. I did that via registry. Now that there's no sounds whatsoever, I changed the registry on the start up so it plays 1/2 sound, but still nothing.
Does anyone have any suggestions???
thanks...

I found something else so this might help...when I do play xmradio or WMP or the phone rings, I do have the volume all the way up, if I put the speaker near my ear, I can hear it playing...now, how do I fix it.
In the registry key for startupanimation, I changed it to 200, but now I made it 100, should I change it back to 16??
Or anything other solutions?
Fix
Well....I fixed it....
It was the registry key for startupanimation. If that's set to 200 for mute, then the speaker will quit. I had to change it to 20 for the speaker.
thanks for my help

Problem with Atom's Life speakerphones

I am having a problem with my atom's life speakerphones,
when I play a ringtone through phone application (Setting->Personal->Phone)
it's really loud (EQ on and SRS WOW HD on).
But, when phone rings, ringtone sounds a lot quiter and I don't know why...
Does anyone know, or has a solution to my problem?
Thanks a lot,
Manos
Any answers?
maybe you have set increasing ringtone volume in phone settings...

Nope, my settings for ringtone is ''ring and vibrate''.
Thanks anyway
I have the same problem as well, hence I guess it is standard volume for incoming ringtone, I am playing mp3 file, how about you?
Try to quiet her amd she screams
One more funny thing about ATOM EXEC LIFE speakers
While EQ on and SRS WOW HD on you will hear somewhat loud (not really) volume, but try to block any one speaker (left or right) and see how she starts screaming (very loud volume)
Isnt this a funny thing?

Prevent audio push through speaker during notifications?

I'm sure most of you know what I'm talking about. If you recieve any notifications When listening to any audio through headphones (or through the mini usb port), the device pushes the notification sound through the speaker. This is fine when having a ringer enabled because I'd obviously want to hear the ring. What I dislike though, is when I have notfications (rings, text messages, etc.) on silent or vibrate, it pushes the audio that I'm listening to through the speaker still. I've always disliked this in WM. My PPC6700 did the same thing, but now I'd really like to know if there's a way to change this.
Now that I have an 8GB SD card, my Titan has started to become my primary mp3 player. I do FOH sound at a local club, and when playing music between bands, it's really annoying to have the music suddenlly cut out because a phone call is coming in. Likewise when I'm quietly watching MobiTV with my headphones on at work, and suddenly, Survivorman is blaring through the speaker because a call is coming in...You get the point. The ringer is off, but the phone still trys to let a ring through the speaker anyway, and since no ring is selected, it pushes any audio being played through.
I realize that this relatively simple problem probably does not have a simple solution as this is probably buried deep in the architecture of how WM handles audio gateways...that almost sounded like I knew what I was talking about; I can assure you that I do not . This is where you guys come in. I'm willing to test any ideas you guys have got. I don't care if it f&#*s up my phone...a hard reset isn't going to ruin my day. I'd just like a solution for this.
Ideas??
Thanks for your help and for this forum!..it has saved my phone more then a few times already.
Me too having the same problem. I listen to music via my bluetooth mono headset and these notifications (whcih I get plenty) disconnect the bluetooth audio gateway, forcing me to reach out to my phone and enabling the audio gateway again.
Yeah, I hate that too! I have the i760, one other thing on this phone I dislike is that the volume must be on to hear audio through my headphones. But there I am in a store listening to some rock at a loud volume, and there it is playing for the entire f'n store to hear when I get a call, thanks PPC!
Possible Solution!!!!
Might I recommend a Profiler. Like PPCProfiler. Just Google it.
What you could do is create a profile called music or what ever you want to name it. Then you could set up that profile to turn ringers on with the volume level you like and with or without vibration and select silent or vibrate only for the notifications. You could really but together any combination. I believe with PPCProfile you can even make a profile as a Headset Mode. So it will auto detect the headset and switch without having to do anything else.
Cheers.
Curious G.
Thanks for the reply, but a profiler isn't exactly what I'm looking for. I've had them before in previous roms. The problem isn't that it's an inconvienence to switch to silent or vibrate. It's that when things are silenced or on vibrate, any background audio is pushed through the speaker while the notification is going off. Meanwhile that audio that I want to be played cuts out of the path that I want it going through (ie. headphones).
Thanks tho...I'm open to any ideas.

Touch HD incredibly loud through headphones?

Anyone find it incredibly loud through headphones both system sounds and the touch flo music player? I have to have it all the way down to 1 bar in the system volume control.
Funnily enough coreplayer will play at reasonable volumes.
EDIT: maklik found a great solution. Volume reduced for headphones but still plays loud if not plugged in
maklik said:
u may edit the registry file:
Local_machine\software\HTC\VolumeOverlay\SavedHandSetVolume
Change DWORD to 0
plug in the headphone and adjust the system volume to 2-3%
u may find that if you once plug headphone into your mobile the volume will adjust to previous volume you saved, if you plug it out, the volume will restore to normal
question2,
the music too loud, you can edit the registry to fix it too
Local_machine\software\HTC\AudioManger_eng\Config\music_player_volumn
Change the DWORD to 10 or lower and soft-reset the mobile
the music will become lighter in the TouchFLO3D music player
sorry for poor eng, i come from HK ~ cheers

Usually phones are to quiet. that is an odd problem.
I'm having the same problem when listening streming radio station with my active Bose headphones. I have Media Player down to 5% volume but it is still quite loud. CorePlayer is ok, but that doesn't play the streaming format my station is using.
I'm finding it ok.
But you can use HD Tweak or Config Tool to lower the volume in the reg settings, that way it should be fine.

Have the same loud sound through the headphones even at lowest level. I prefer it after having a quietish Polaris. I think I remember seeing all the settings at 100 in the registry files so may be it is undoable?
Wow, are you kidding? I find it absolutely not loud at all!!... But I have a german (europe) version, so perhaps its the limitation... Does anyone know how to get this limitation away?? Please, I really searched a lot, but didn't find anything with my keywords and my fantasy is out now... So, I think there must be a cab or something like this, if anyone knows it, please post it or give me the link^^ greez, cad
@Cadenza: You should be able to remove the limitation using "HD Tweak"
Same problem here though: Sounds too loud for me ...
Thank you very much for your answer!!! Its true, I didn't try until now HD-tweak, only Advanced config and this doesn't have this option. So thanks a lot, I'll try this^^ haha, I want it loooud ok, now btt, I'm sorry that I post so offtopic, I really don't want to disturb you here but thanks a lot!!! Greez, cad^^
I gotta agree its very loud even at the lowest setting. I've just installed HD Tweak and see no way to lower my sound as the EU limitation is already active.
It's a funny problem to have, it is usually the opposite with anything you buy in the EU, maybe i can sue htc if i go deaf . If it makes any difference I use in ear earphones (otherwise you can't hear anything on London underground) could that be the cause?
Figure there mut be a registry setting somewhere to control this.
I also think it's way too loud, even though I've got a danish version, which should be limited... I dunno.
In wmp it's no problem though, cause it has it's own volume control.
HD tweak only allows to up the volume, not to lower it. Anybody got an idea?
LOL
Just tried mine and about blew my ears off! LOL
funny
Lol that were my thoughts exactly when I used my earphones for the first time! I only tested it on my own sennheisers though, not on the stock phones. Can anyone confirm that I can change this using that Tweak tool?
It's even worse through my UE Super.Fi 5 Pro as it approximately double the loudness compared to standard headphones. I hardly ever go above level 1 or 2.
I can't imagine what it would be like at level 15... Probably blow up my headphones.
Level 1 is not so bad during the day with lots of external noise but at night it's too loud!
no fix for this?
I thought s2p would help me get around this but I agree its still too loud... I like to sleep to music and this verges on painful on all but the very lowest setting... I've switched to a headset I use on my computer for voip calls that has a volumn control but I would much prefer a solution that allows me to use my Bose earbuds
using wmp solves the problem, as it has it's own volume control. But I want to use the htc player in tfl3d.

Sounds like you have a faulty Touch HD. I would backup your stuff and try a hard reset to see if this issue still persists.
No way I can turn to max volume. I would go deaf...
Hi Guys, I also have UE super.fi 5 pro's and find the HD stupidly loud! The only way I can listen to music before I go to sleep is to have the volume on the lowest setting and turn all the equaliser settings down to minimum! Any Help yet?!

Audible ring with headphones plugged in

I was listening to music, using headphones, the other day when my phone rang. I got the ringtone in the headphones, which I totally expect, but when I took the headphones off I was suprised to hear the ringtone coming out of the phone speaker as well.
Is this normal, and is there a way to change it?

This normal behavior, just in case you leave your headphones in after you finished listening to music. it's been the same for a long time.
That's a shame, but I understand the reason you've given for it.
It wasn't like this with my HD though. At least I can turn the ringtone down when listening to music at work. That's the main reason I want no ringtone when headphones are plugged in. I'm in an open plan office and just think it's rude to have your phone ringing off all the time.
Maybe there's a way to change this behaviour (registry setting maybe?), and maybe some genius on here will know about it
Thanks.
by default when you get the phone if you change either ringtone or system it affects the other, in other words they're both combined. There is an option in the settings to split them so one doesn't change the other.

Funny you should say that. I was just thinking that that may actually be the cause of this issue.
I still want to hear the ringtone in my headphones, in case I don't see that there's an incoming call.
I'm gonna have a play with that option and see if it makes any difference.
Thanks.
