Hi,
I realise I've been creating a lot of topics recently, but it's because I keep finding things in the HD I think may be malfunctions.
This time, I need your help with the playback of videos. ^^
I've transferred some videos to my HD, and some of them playback smoothly (But the playback controls menu is slow at showing up and responding as well). And some do not. I have a couple of videos that lag TERRIBLY, and it's always them. If I tap the screen, when playing the video, it takes about 5-7 seconds for the menu to show. And by the time it's actually visible, I try to press it, but it's already going back down. -.-' Some times the menu won't even show, no matter how many times I tap. Once, twice, 37 times, it doesn't matter. And no, it's not because these particular videos are larger, or better quality, at all.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Have you read all the video playback threads in this forum about this subject? There have been plenty and you might a solution within at least one of them.

Thanx in advance for you time.
I just got my Imagio last weekend. I didn't flash it to any roms or anything yet, because I kind of like it like it is right now. The only thing is, I downloaded a movie in mp4 format and put it on my phone and here's what happens:
I play the movie. (It plays nicely.)
Something happens that I have to pause the movie. (Be it a call or knock at the door or what ever)
I come back to my phone and play the movie from where it left off.
But now, every 5 seconds almost exactly the navigation (Play, pause, stop, forward, etc) bar comes up as if I touched the screen.
It goes away and comes up again in 5 more seconds.
It does this through out the rest of the movie.
Any idea on how to stop this? (or maybe suggest a player I can download?)
I really didn't want to switch roms yet.
Thanks in advance to all da uba leet intel of the XDA Developers
try loading the video from file explorer and see if it does the same problem. that was my fix.
Results
Yes I tried it that way first then the other way (through the album tab) and still the same result.
It only does it if I ever pause it once. Then it (the navigation bar) comes up over and over all throughout the movie. =\
Thanx everyone for your time and answers. XD
Happens to me too. Hope someone comes up with a solution.
Same problem here. But when playing back video from the camera.. no problem.
what video framerate are your videos at. When my videos were at 25, this problem would happen.
when I set them to 15, it would be fine.
I am going to try a video at 24 and see if it still happens, will let you all know
This issue is just downright annoying. Has anyone come up with a solution as of yet?
I noticed it only happens with H-264 movies not with regular mp4 movies bitrate and framerate didnt really matter
any fix yet
any help
maybe a better wvga htc fullscreen player cab
any help updated roms have similar issues
I have noticed an unusual bug with the HTC Album video player and I am unsure what it is or how to fix it. It seems to only effect videos recorded with the HD2 (videos recorded with my old HTC Diamond play fine) however these same videos play with no problems using coreplayer.
At random points in the image frames there are elements of distortion sometimes these points turn green other times they are just blurry. These points like i say are random but in the same place and time frame each time an individual video is played (does that make sense? lol). I managed to capture some distortion with my mobiler. This is quite mild really, I have seen worse and I have seen this same video play with that bottom section completely green for half a second or so before settling correct again.
Any ideas guys? Anyone else having this problem?
Incidently this video is of my cat attacking the missus through the fence when she was gardening lol.
Hi there!
Occasionally, when using the slow motion setting the video will record, play back in slow motion, but the fps will not be up to par - as in, it'll be set to 240 fps but will most definitely look choppier and not as smooth as I know it should be. A restart of the phone usually fixes this but there's no way to tell if it's not working until I record a video and play it back. Any one else experiencing this? Also, all the sample slo-mo videos online look so crisp and clear, while my videos tend to look pretty noisy, even with decent light. Any input is appreciated.
I've had issues when viewing the videos in Google Photos as well. Not sure if it's related to the video or other HDR photos still processing, or just Google Photos doing whatever it does to index them. I have sync set to charging only and wifi only, but when I was at my grandma's house taking videos of her dog jumping and doing tricks, when I played them back they would play OK the first time, but if I started moving the sliders and jumping to different spots in the video, it would freeze up or get really choppy.
Hoping it will be fixed with an app update soon.
I am having the exact same issue you described. It's not a playback issue. It's choppy even played back on a computer.
It is supposed to capture at 240 fps and stretch that out into a 30 fps video file. Look at the properties of a slow-mo video file, it should say something like 29 fps. When mine isn't working correctly, and the playback isn't smooth, that video file's properties says 7 fps. So, it seems like it's capturing 4 times slower than it's supposed to, at 60 fps or something.
Restarting my phone fixes it, for a few days. I've only had the phone a couple weeks and have had this happen twice now. No clue why this happens. Surely it's more widespread than just us.
As for the grainy noise, you have to have a lot of light, more than you'd need for a normal video. Mine are pretty grainy unless there's a ton of light.
Yeah, mine becomes choppy too sometimes. A reboot fixes it for a while. I've seen this issue posted a few different places so I think it's a software/firmware problem that Google will need to resolve.
Just wanted to add that I have the exact same problem, meaning that it still hasn't been fixed.
I know this is an old post, but I just got a 6p and I too have this issue. I'm even on DP4 so it's not fixed yet in this release either... Reboot is the only temporary fix I've found.
I'm not sure if the system update or one of the recent camera updates is the culprit here, but quite a few (but far from all) of the videos taken with Motorola's stock camera end up out of sync. There is a quite significant (up to a second) delay between audio and video, both when playing it back on the device itself as well as when playing it anywhere else.
So not the playback, but the creation of these 1080p videos is somehow bugged. There also is little rhyme or reason why these specific videos are out of sync although it appears to possibly happen more with low light video recordings.

I've noticed this too. For me, this happens mostly when the battery is low. I have heard that big cores get shut off below a certain percentage, so perhaps this has something to do with it.
I've personally noticed the quality of the video capture is choppy. The 1080p 30 fps capture lags when moving objects are on the screen. For example, I shot a video of some quick hand movements (no jokes about male body parts here, please!) and the camera did not replicate them in real time. I would estimate a 200-400 MS delay in rendering.
Anyone have any thoughts?
I've tried to resolve this issue before by doing some research, but left with no avail.
YouTube will play a video just fine 2 minutes in, but almost every time I watch a video, the video will freeze, and the audio will keep playing. The actual video freezes though, not the display, meaning I can use the controls and switch to a different video.
Another issue I have is, when the video comes to an end, it will cut off the very last second, so I can't hear the very last second of the video, which I've been finding very annoying. I'm on a ROM, and I've tried this with stock with no results.
