Hi there,
does anyone know where I can find a Java Developer Kit, to write java programs ON (with) my XDA? I need it to do my homework for university when I have some free time there...
Maybe someone has some experience with that?
I took a look at Sun but I was not able, after hours of searching, to find anything for PPC.
I would be very glad to read some tips!

Java for XDA
Hi Timo,
I had this problem it is a bit confusing - what you need to look for is:-
'J2ME' on the sun web site.
I am writting stuff for my XDA and wanted to use java - unfortunatly the XDA does not come with embeded java so you need to install the correct jvm (ARM) onto your XDA before any software will run.
I decided to use embeded c - if you know c this is great becuase it is free and works on any Windows CE system.
I have just switch to C# however to keep my hand into a few languages.
Try the above search on the sun site - if you have any problems let me know and I will pull out the URL's for you.

Creme ist the best Java for XDA II
Creme ist the best Java for XDA II. I have tried Jeode and Sun javas. Jeode is slower and Sun is buggy.
Is anyone aware of issues when using Linkbuttons (asp.net v2 beta) on Pocket PC IE.
Tested my new app on the web today and everything is fine from a PC.
Nothing at all happens when in PPC (v4.20.1081) IE
Could it have something to do with the ~ in the postbackurl destination ?
Are there any issues with pocket PC ?
Please help (things were going so well !)
Java
OK I think it's a java issue.
where do i get a java runtime (don't understand suns site)
but the question is if it's a java applet issue or a java script issue
since java script is not real java sun's java will not help
java script is handled internal in IE and cant be changed as far as i know
maybe it can with another browser
another java which is suppose to be better then suns for pocketpc is
http://www.ewesoft.com/ but dont have much to do with browsers
a ha
Changed the linkbuttons to commandbuttons and all is well
Is this a linkbutton issue or is it specific to Visual Web Developer 2005 beta ?
hi,
I was wondering if it is possible to create a shortcut to a java applet within the midlet program. This way it would be more simple to start opera browser and other programs.
Thanks,
Marco

Also looking for the same. Can someone find the jvm executable used to run java programs?... we sure can make a shortcut of it!
now it is stuck inside jblend...
what is jblend.. my previous x1 is able to have opera mini as an icon..
now i cant... anyone pls?
Yeah it would be very nice to be able to put separate shortcuts for the Java applications. I think this should be doable with something like the desktop command "java -jar MyApp.jar".
Anybody knows how to do it?
Hey there...
I installed the esmertec jbed application and managed to download and install my java application...
But the application i was running relies on two softkeys being present at the bottom of the screen and i was wondering if anyone knows how to implement that?
