Is there a way that you can change the LED light settings to have them continuasly flash the colour you have set for them like have them flashing if i have an unchecked sms message?... i like to have my phone on viabrate, and i dont always feel it, but i also keep it on my desk.... like i'd just like to look at it and see if i have a new message apose to picking it up and checking
xperia tweak 2.0...see the sticky.. you can also do this in sounds and notificatons if im not mistaken and extend the time they flash
I wish there was a way to fully customize the LEDs. Like having all the LEDs quickly change colors (green>yellow>red>purple), but continuously, when receiving a message
Like one of the LEDs when you press the X/Panel button, but for all four LEDs, and continuously with 1-2 sec between the pulses.

naw, its not to extend the time.... i want to keep flashing.... its a led light, so the power consumption should be minimalistic... its just i dont always feel my damn phone, and i have my phone on my desk alot of the time while listening to music..... it shouldn't be that bad...

Hey all, nobody with an answer for this problem? As misfit41 said, it shouldn't be a power consumption problem (also because when the battery is low, it keeps flashing leds all the time!).
So, is there a damn registry key to modify flashing time, or whatever else ??? I hav eno clue at all
As billybobjones indicated you can change the length of time the LED's flash under
Settings -> Sounds & Notifications -> Choose Event -eg "New Text Message"
Tick the "Flash lighht for" ...and change the duration (goes up to 60 minutes, or no limit)

Yes, I did it and sent myself an sms (from another phone)... it stop flashing after 5 mins, even if I set no limit... that's why I was asking... I suppose is just my problem

Hey everyone,
Had a question,
My phone, when on vibrate, does a good 10seconds for any text message, phone call, or what not - any ideas how to edit this - it's WAYY to long of a vibration and I end up needing to have the phone on silent.
Thanks,
~Maciek
if you have a 3prt profile app chack if there are settings regarding this issue ,you can also try diff ring and ring settings of the phone ,most likely you have a software that dose it ,try also to check on start/settings/sound & notification /notification if the settings are ok (play with it) as last option you can always backup your device prform hr and check this function (to know your device is ok) good luck with finding it

Yeah i find the vibrations to be way too long also. I wish there was a way to change it.
Well I took the phone out of the house for the first time today. And all I can say it, how annoying it was being.
Is there anyway to stop the phone going of everytime is switching services (3G, HSDPA, GPRS etc) Everytime that stopped, swapped or got activated my phone went off. I was constantly checkingn it thinking I had mail or sms's, it was driving me mad
How can I get my phone to vibrate while on loud? Even though its on loud, its quite hard to hear when your out. But then if I put it on vibrate and I go inside, sometimes I dont feel it go off while walking or sitting down.
Any solutions?
Oh, and how do I set .mp3's as ringtones/alarm tones/sms tones etc. Can I only use the ones in the list?
The "Search" button is your best friend in here...why don't you give it a try first
Yeh I just get loads of random results for other phones.
I tried a few things but they didnt work
Edit: repeat post
I know this isn't much help but on my stock rom I managed to turn these off, it wasn't anything special it was in a menu somewhere, where I could stop it notifying me, so it is possible. Im afraid im no longer using that rom so I cannot check, the one im on at the moment has them off as default it seems.
Took me about 5 minutes to find the menus on my X1 (first WM phone I've owned) for all the problems you have listed. I suggest you either do a search or play around in the Settings.
Maybe the original poster is having difficulty 'cos they are looking for options not settings...
first thing I do when I get a new machine is RTFM no matter what it is (usually while I'm waiting charge, but not needed with the LiPo here) then start experimenting with menus. It's not hard...
There's an online help system here. http://devicehelp.vodafone.co.uk/GettingStarted.php?ModelID=344&e=0 I suggest you read it
What do you mean by "turning the phone off" what's happening ?
is the screen just going blank, (it does this or new users would be screaming about the poor battery life)
Is the entire unit shutting itself down?
Is the phone part (this is not a phone it's a pocket pc, the phone is only a part of it) turning itself off?
Maybe that's the problem, this is a very advanced device, people seem to be ignoring this..

Ringtones: Just select the file you want as your ringtone and hold down until the menu comes down and from the bottom of the menu, just select "Set As Ringtone".
Alarm tones & SMS tones: Files must be in .wav format and save them into your Windows folder. Once that is done, your tones should be available from the drop down list of tones.
Hey Guys, thanks for the solutions.
However none of tem were what I was after. I dont explain myself very well.
When I say, the phone goes off when switching between 3G, HSDPA etc i mean it either vibrates of beeps depending on which mode its on.
As for the vibrating while on loud. I have it on vibrate and ring which it does, but when I recieve an SMS it just beeps when on Loud. I would like it to vibrate too like it did on my old SE

I'm looking for an option to let the phone vibrate in small intervals and not one long everlasting vibration.
In the sound/notifications tab you can only select "vibration" and not the style of the vibration.
Am I missing something or does someone know an addon?

Search for VAlert, it allows incoming calls to "pulse" (and you can define the pattern).

Hi,
I have an orange spv m3100 unlocked to virgin (t-mobile). I was under the impression that the service led (constant, flashing, green) could be customised somehow to reflect events like new voicemail, missed call, new text message etc. Start / Settings / Sounds and Notifications / Notifications seems to back up this theory but all I ever get is a constantly flashing green light all the time other than when charging. Then, the light is solid amber.
I've witnessed an unlocked m700 do what I'd like, which is to change the colour of the led under the circumstances outlined above. I've tried nueLED without success and was wondering if there is a simple way to achieve what I'd like. Obviously a free solution would be preferable, but I'd consider paying as this is an important feature for me.
Thanks.
I honestly don't know if its possible, could be a registry edit or then again it may be something you can't play around with... NueLED lets you change the LEDs colour that flashes for different functions but I don't believe it lets you change the timing...
Sorry...
In which case I wonder why the phone gives me the option to "flash light" when e.g. I get a voice mail or a text. Surely this refers to changing the properties of the LED ?
not sure
I might be missing what your asking, but I have the official wm6 att rom on my phone and it switches to yellow flashing when I have a text/missed call etc.....
which rom are you using?
I'm running CRC's rom but it would be a pretty standard function I would think.
Apologies if I'm telling you how to suck eggs, but are you setting the events up?
On mine, I set the events I want to see the flashing light for in
Settings - Sounds & Notifications - Notifications
Then I need to choose the event (EG: Phone: Missed Call) and choose the various settings.
IIRC none of them had the setting for 'Flash light for' set to on when I first flashed the ROM.

No apology necessary, I'm a super noob at all this smartphone malarkey.
But...I've set this up for all the notifications I require and still no joy.
Am currently trialling a combination of led killer and phonealarm apps to solve this. Appears to work reasonably well, but sledgehammers and nuts spring to mind.
I think.... is not posible
Is too much settings for the led! hahahaha but it would be interesant to shut off the hang on and call led buttons off cause it makes me sense it tooks much battery... dont you think so...?
I've noticed that the notification light for new emails and the like doesn't blink as frequently as the g1. Is there anyway to to reduce the time gap between blinks?
+1. You have to be staring at it otherwise you miss the blink.
lol +2 I catch myself stopping in my tracks and waiting a good 6 seconds to see if there's going to be a blink.
If you use the new CM build + Trackball SMS, the notification light will continue flashing every second until you activate the phone
The worst is when I "think" I see a blink in the corner of my eye and then I have to debate whether I should expend the energy to wake up my phone and check for a new message. Most of the time I hallucinate and think I saw a blink when really I didn't.

From what I gather from your post, is that this alpha build doesn't play nice with what is current built into the phone. Is this a color changing thing, or a frequency thing? Would it be more feasible to write a program that just changes the frequency of the blinking?
[App] TrackballFlashRate
Ok you can change the flash rate from 1-9seconds, no colour changes take place. As the Stock ROM Notification system does not issue any period/rate changes this should work without problems.
It will also load your setting on phone reboot.

Sweet. Please add to CyanogenMod.
Thanks a bunch lilHermit.
Thanks a lot for this mod!
However, it seems to be a little unreliable as sometimes it just stops working.
Also, if I reboot it will always stop to work and I will have to kill both SU and the mod itself and then restart the app for it to come back to life.
Any plans on further improving this mod or making it more reliable? Would really love to use this as the default for notifications.
Using Cyanogen Beta 4.
Hi all,
This may probably be normal but need to check with others.
When you on are on low battery status and the orange LED notification blinks does your phone blink for like 12 or 13 times(can't remember it exactly) and then the LED notification disappears i.e. no more flashing or colour in LED?
I thought the orange blink LED would blink continuously till battery expiration or do I need to change a setting?
Can anyone else confirm the above on their HTC HD2?
Thnx
Hope this helps others:

Just to add to the above you need to do the below to get the notification to appear in the notification settings of the HD2. By default it ain't there and you need to use a reg editor to modify the key below to add a new string and name it to Low battery warning.
The instructions are below to getting the amber LED to continuously blink all the time. Mine was only blinking a few times and then disappeared and I was wondering why does it keep disappearing. Hope this helps others...
Using a regeditor I am using taskmanager:http://www.dotfred.net/TaskMgr.htm
1. Search for the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{A877 D663-239C-47a7-9304-0D347F580408}\.
2. Next to Default the first option in the below window highlight it hold with finger and select edit and select value type REG_SZ. Then leave value name blank and type in Value data: Low battery warning tap on tick. Close task manager..
3. Now goto settings in HTC sense -> settings->menu ->all settings -> Sounds & Notifications applet -> Notifications tab, choose Low battery warning value from the Select an event drop-down menu and set flash light to whatever you want.
This way your orange LED battery low light blinks all the time now

Nice one! thanks for finding that
I have the same problem with low battery notification.
Few weeks ago it worked as described in users manual, blinking red until the phone turns off.
I don't know what happend but now when the battery is below 5% the led blinks about 12-13 times in red and then turns off, but the phone is still working.
I tried a reg hack and set the led to blink without limit but it doesn't work.
I also did a hard reset but the problem still exists.
Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong ?
TIA.
This thread has been dead for a while but I havethe same problem of the low battery notification blinking 13 times and turning off. I did the reg edit, using CERegEditor initially, and then I tried it again with TaskManager.
Both times it resulted in the low battery warning showing in the drop down menu BUT even when I set it to repeat infinitely (I'm using a Chinese ROM so I don't know what it says exactly on English ROMs) it still only flashes 12 - 13 times! Same problem as et1.
Did I follow the instructions wrong both times? Has anyone found a solution to this?
Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated.
