App Dock on G1? - G1 General

While reading though the G1 service manual (props to mikechannon) I came across page 15. I did a search for app dock but nothing came out. Is this feature not included in the final release or what? I'm guessing it was taken out because it kinda looks like the iPhone.

im not 100% on this .. but im pretty sure that was from build 0.9 or 0.8 i kno that was the version they showed off about a year ago.. 1.0 doesn't have that dock that i know of the only way to get it is to replicate it on a wallpaper.. check out the theme dream section

Yeah this is one of the various pre-1.0 launcher designs.

So what about any chance of getting it back? Maybe I'm saying it wrong but is the coding still in or was it removed?

It was probably developed in period between the M5 preview release and the more recent 0.9 release. As such, there's probably no public code for it.

does anyone remembering seeing a phone like this that was seen with a either google or t-mobile excutive
no, but they probably saw an early prototype of the g1 which looks similar to that and made a mockup of that...meaning the executive's "g1" either looked like that, or it looked similar to the current g1 but the person who saw it and did the mockup didn't get a clear view of it and improvised the bottom.

Wonder why there's no Sense UI visible in the phone?
Sense was one main thing why I chose Hero..
i guess because it is a shot of a hero running lox's eclair build, and there is no sense for that build?
i am actually not sure what the op wants to say with this pic, it is clearly nothing official from htc, yet he doesn't tell us explicitly...
It's just a parady thats all.
I noticed lots of "you" adverts and as more and more roms are comming out for the hero.
I changed the advert to suit the rom I use most.
Just a little mess around

Android & Me Confirms Rollout of 2.2 Froyo Yesterday

Just passing along some news that people may already know about. The 2.2 update is around the corner or already here.
hxxp://androidandme.com/2010/06/news/nexus-one-receives-final-froyo-build-via-ota-update/
Does this mean FRF83 is the final build?
Man, really? Another post on this?
Did you guys hear that Froyo is official now?
I had a chat with them and they only base this on the fact that it's the same build with the release of the code to AOSP.
Of course I told them that's not enough.

i used to have a pretty slick rls5 setup, but after tweaking on it for too long, it'd turned into a confusing mess of patches and mods. the lure of GB won me over, so MikG is running right now, but i might give Warm GB a shot when it comes out.

The Motoblur UI has taken a lot of flak for being slow, cumbersome and “downright useless” as a friend of mine succinctly put to me some time ago. It seems that things have changed for the better, at least with the Android 4.0 version of the overlay from Moto, and if you want proof of that claim, you can try now to know for yourself.
Pulled from a Droid RAZR, the launcher is now ready to be installed on any non-Motorola device, with a caveat that you should be running ICS. It has already been said to work on the HTC Sensation and other devices and there is also a choice of two launchers with different homescreen styles, so take your pick.
Head to the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1577123 thread to grab the APKs and to get some specific instructions on how to get the UI on to your Android device.
