I wonder if it possible to use my x7500 as a bluetooth keybord with my PC? Sometimes I have my PC connected with my TV and it would be great if I could use my x7500 as a bluetooh keyboard, instead of buying one. The joystick could work as a mouse.

Definitely non-standard. You'll need to find a program that can expose that stuff to a BT host. Might not even exist.
Just saw this article. Looks like its doable on the iPhone and G1, so maybe someone's done it for WM.

Theres a software called mobile remote.... you could control pc via bluetooth and use the touch screen as your keyboard (other SIP supported) or the hardware keyboard

been using it for ages and it works just fine. some of the features:
- you can use your athena's screen as the mousepad to control the mouse on the pc
- you can execute items on your pc and use the athena's keyboard. example: as you're controlling the mouse on your pc you decide to open facebook. you can enter your login details using the athena's keyboard. you can then further interact by typing anything
- you can use "hand writing" recognition. this means you can use the athena's screen as a tablet. the drawback i see is you need some practice to get the letters right. and it can be a burden when you use hand writing AND mouse function. that's why i would simply use the athena as the mousepad and use the keyboard for my inputs
- you can use the athena's screen to view the pc screen itself. say you're in another room and you want to execute something. the athena's screen will allow you to view what's exactly on your pc screen. you can then do whatever you want: e.g. open an application, microsoft doc, etc. use the keyboard to type in stuff, etc. DRAWBACK: you can't view the entire pc screen. you only get a small rectangular view of your pc. think of the athena's screen size and superimpose that your pc screen. the area on your pc screen covered by the athena is the only one you can see. BUT, you can shift the rectangle around if you want to view or access other sections of the pc screen.
some other drawbacks:
- you might want to consider having a steady supply of screen protectors or get a soft tipped stylus. as you'll be using 100% of the athena's screen area, this'll be subject to lots of doodling and stylus contact
- plug in your athena to your wall socket as bluetooth consumes power. you can then also increase the light settings to ensure that the screen is bright all the time
what i've done:
- sync via bluetooth
- plug-in my 4-in-1 cable
- plugged in a mouse. it's much more convenient to have another mouse because the joystick is small. plus the mouse has the left and right buttons already present. OR, i have a bt mouse so this eliminates the need for a wired one
- from the 4-in-1 cable, i can plug an external keyboard. as you can imagine, the athena's is smaller and typing speed is reduced. an external keyboard is much faster for typing in. they're cheap too

I'm interested in switching to this from my Samsung i730 pocketpc/phone - basically looking for a device that will do all the same things - but be more usable with a terminal server.
Anyone have experience using it with a Terminal Server? I'm very interested in screen real-estate / resolution.

I use my ameo to connect to terminal server regularly, it's pretty good and very useful, the screen is usable especially with keys to jump to top left, top right middle, bottom left, bottom right rather then having to scroll around.
I use it often for my own servers and to support my customers. It's a life saver and works very well even over sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooow GPRS.
i use it all the time and i have the kensington bluetooth mouse and the stowaway bluetooth keyboard hooked up and it all works very will with remote desktop. just make sure you get the wm6 version of remote desktop.
I use it all the time to connect to our servers at work to do jobs normally only available internally. Fantastic and plenty big enough.
Thanks for replies - that's my top issue, I can connect to a term. server with my i730, but the screen is stoo small to do anything useful.
The only other thing I will have to work out is portability.
I carry the i730 on a belt, I assume that won't work for the 7501. But carrying it on a belt means always and always having it on-hand. I'd have to do something similar with the 7501.
I'm reading that many people are treating it more as a mini-laptop then a pocketpc/phone - (ie, not always carrying it) - how do you guys handle it? I fear it will be sitting at home when I need to emergency connect to a terminal server.
BTW, I know I'd use a bluetooth headset for phone calls, and I thought about folable (and full size) bluetooth keyboards for data entry - but for some reason I never thought about a bluetooth mouse.
If I carry just the unit (without even the magnetic keyboard) by itself all the time, but have power/bluetooth keyboard & mouse available in a bag for trips... well, VERY tempting.

Oh, almost forgot - 1 handed use! I assume that's out the window - especially reading ebooks 1 handed? Any way to hold the unit with 1 hand & turn pages with the same hand (without pain) ?

Got my HTC in today - trying terminal server. I can connect - sortof.
At the login screen, I don't seem to be able to type anything, with either the hard keyboard, or a sip. Can't change the username, can't type a password.
I have NOT gotten my cell sim chip yet, so I am doing this while connected/synched to my pc - dunno if that has something to do with it.
Any other ideas?

If the Keyboard isnt working for you it's because you installed the .cab to your storage card. There are scancode files in it that MUST go in the \windows folder, but installing it to a storage card puts them in \Storage Card\Windows.
Last post for now (haven't searches this answer yet).. is the appx. 16 colors I'm getting normal?
Is there software out there that will let you use your ppc as a mouse on your laptop? If not would it be possible to do have such an app that could use the touch screen as a mouse? Or better yet, would it be possible to use the camera on the ppc as sort of a laser mouse? Also could it be used over bluetooth and or USB? Then set up parts of the screen as left and right click buttons with a scroll area.
Just a thought.

not laser i think you mean optical mouse
problem is that optical mice have a dieode to give it
light so it can detect the movements
if you just put your phone on the back
all it will photo is darkness
yes, im current use Salling Clicker to control my PC via Wifi, it have some plugins to control WMP, BSPlayer, and the default system controls are mouse (touch the screen to move the cursor), shutdown, restart work great!

Sorry, yes it is optical. When I was thinking of this I flipped my mouse over and that darn light shot right in my eye. From that point on all I could think about was LASER's LOL. Going to give Salling Clicker a try, looks very promising although it would be cool to be able to use my phone as an OPTICAL mouse using the camera. And your right with the camera flat on a surface all you see is black, but with the flashlight on and the camera raised slightly off the serface you would be able to detect motion.
Still just thinking out loud.

Not yet - albeit, for the Smartphone platform, there are some attempts to implement this (see http://wiki.xda-developers.com/inde...e news: new betas of SmartToolkit and IM+ etc ). It certainly will be MUCH worse (if it will be implemented at all) than the hardware accelerometer-based solutions (see for example Nokia N95), though.
the PPC wifi or bluetooth mouse would be cool! on the wizard the flash diode could supply the light to the camera. I've wanted this ever since I tried PPCtablet.
I can already use my Wizard as a webcam using coolcam. To be able to use it as a mouse would really rock. the ultimate laptop accessory!

You know, use my stylus on the screen to move the mouse. Drag left on the screen, move my pc cursor left. Anyone know of an app I can use?

As title stated I am just planning to use galaxy note as a device that let me control my bussiness pc even work as office.
There is only one video which is very good example of this on youtube
but ı want to know your experience.
My aim is that
1- Use galaxy note teamviewer to reach bussiness server and wake on line my personel bussiness computer
2- use galaxy note as a remote desktop connect it to a monitör with hdmı cable so that now ı am on vocation and using asus n1215 if this can happen ı am no longer bring this netbook with me. Insteead o this ı will buy a montör and use only galaxy note.
3- use microsoft wireless usb mouse and keyboard by connecting usb cable to galaxy note
If this is possible then every bussiness man no longer have to bring their little computers with them

I would like to do this with LogmeIn as well. But I think there is something you should conciser.
You are planning to use a USB mouse and keyboard? The HDMI connector would take up the Notes single port, so unless you have the right splitter, and the Note works with that splitter, I think you will need a bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
I just hope that the App works with the mouse HID drivers. I tried this with my Jailbroken iPhone with BT Mouse stack and the app would not recognize the mouse pointer.
why not bluetooth KB & mouse?

In additon to this ı use Nokia N8 now and ı tried microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse by connecting usb device to nokia n8 and it works properly.
I hope galaxy note will be the my final smart phone and ı could use it all daily work activities.
If the soul purpose is to control work PC, why not get VPN to the office and use a proper laptop?
On Topic : I used teamviewer with Galaxy S II to help a friend and it was great.
When I get the note in 5 days, I can perform this experiment for you.

I use both Teamviewer and PocketCloud for remote connections to my computers. I use both on my GTab 8.9 and my SGS2. Spend the extra money on bluetooth KB/Mouse; it's the ONLY way you will be able to use both AND still use MHL for external display. On that note (no pun intended), both clients display at handset's native resolution for anything except for video. So, no matter what display you use (even 1080p display) you're still going to be "limited" to 1280*800 in your remote client (which really isn't that bad when you consider, that's basically laptop resolutions!).
Another thing worth mentioning is that Android doesn't really have a "right-click," so you're not going to be able to click your right mouse button in your RDP client and get a right-click response. Just FYI.
aside from this, are there any remote desktop apps for android that does not use any client-side..clients? everything i've seen so far needs to have a client installed on the pc

You can have right click depending on the app - Splashtop has long press left mouse button perform a windows right click for example.
I just saw the Galaxy Note at work today and omg what an awesome phone. I understand now that we have changed generations. This is really next gen! The display is incredible!
Anyway, it struck me as well. With the resolution beeing really close to the 1366x768 resolution on my computer. Im excited to know how this works! And if you already got it, congrats!
Interested to know which other apps work with keyboard/mice - Splashtop is the only one I've found that does (but been a while since I tried the others).
I've used Team Viewer a couple of times with my Note and I've even connected a bluetooth mouse to it, whats worth noting is that you will have 3 mouse cursers going on at once when using Team Viewer and a mouse connected to your phone, the mouse will have a curser and the Team Viewer will have a curser and then the client computer will have a curser. And you can't just click with your mouse and control the client mouse, you have to click and drag the Team Viewer mouse to move the client mouse. Left mouse button will click as normal once your Team Viewer mouse/client mouse is in position but right mouse button will function as the back button and try to close the app down, however, there is a mouse button on screen along the bottom that acts as a right mouse button. Hope this makes sense and is helpful!

Sounds awful, that's why I use Splashtop now.
I have not been able to connect an older Think Outside BT mouse to the N4. The mouse connects to the laptop. I have attempted the discovery several times and the N4 will not see the mouse.

Odd, the phone was not restarted, everything the same, and this time paired the first time.
This may become a car mouse. The mouse wheel switches between home screens. Now if I could figure out how program the mouse wheel to flip through 3 or 4 selected or open apps it would be the Jetsons.

This has been the best suggestion so far. There is something I find disorienting when using tiny touch controls for Mort, GPS, and a few others, while mounted on the dash and going down the highway. The car mouse rocked for the 2215 and the Axim.
Why would you want to use a PC mouse on a phone ? If it was a tablet then it's understandable. It's just redundant...

External Monitor. Have not done this yet.
I have a desk with two levels, top level the N4 sits in an Griffin Arrowhead stand in front of the monitor. I see over the N4 just enough to see all of the monitor. Using the mouse gives me an unobstructed view, it is fast, and comfortable, for some task.
I have a mouse pad that I made for the car that has a slight lip and was used with my PPCs. The N4 provides navigation. entertainment, and communications and is in a vent mount. I am really bad at using the N4 while driving and I think it to be dangerous (for me). Not all finger friendly buttons are the same, some are hard to use on the road. I have failed to find a fast and easy to use task switcher as I am not sure I will root. I would like to make the mouse wheel switch between 3 or 4 apps. The car mouse allows me to use devices like the N4 ( mostly my Axim in the past) without altering my driving position.
I do miss the Axim's many hardware, mappable, indestructible, buttons. The Axim had 2 memory card slots. Back then we wanted USB OTG support so bad. My Imagio and it's buttons was a POS. Sometimes I think the N4 is a sidestep in the right direction. The biggest plus for these pretty, fragile devices is the OS, Android is greatness, Winmo was fun but at the same time hell hell.
i've tried a speedlink snappy BT mouse with no luck.
It's discovered and it pairs etc. but no cursor or response to movement/ buttons.
The same mouse works fine on my Dell laptop and a Blackberry Playbook.
