Youtube - Touch GSM General

I've been trying to find a valid solution to stream youtube and other video sites. I think I am missing everything
I have tried the youtubeplay but that doesn't integrate into the web browser and it doesn't seem I can copy paste URLs to it.
and vTap doesn't seem to work. HFC Streaming Player just says connecting.
Any other idea's or help would be greatly appreciated.

I got this working just so everyone knows using the cab file from here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=FlashVideoBundle
I didn't know tha tpage existed before. I guess the other DL links I were using didn't work.

I tried using skyfire and it is awesome ....

Streaming TV FULLSCREEN please!!!

Hi all. Has anyone tried streaming TV using WMP10 (& PocketstreamerPro) and managed to get it in FULLSCREEN? I'm really getting peeved off with a viewable image the size of a stamp!!
Videos are OK in TCPMP, but it doesn't support streaming TV.
Or does anyone know of any plug-ins for TCPMP which allow it to stream? really need some help here..... :?
The latest tcpmp beta (1.71b IIRC) support tv streaming and mms. You should give it a try. For other format, try PVplayer

Hi again. I'm struggling to find that version of tcpmp that you quoted. I can only find version 0.71. Is that the same? Probably not! Could you point me in the right direction of a download link please? Cheers.
I'm pertty sure 1.71 was a typo. Get the latest version here:

Yes, sorry for this. The version 1 is planned soon, and we are still at zero versionning. BTW, PVplayer is only for operator coded TV or movies. TCPMP is suited for a lot of streaming channels, and can also guess the link of the stream if you provide it with the URL of the containing web page in the file open dialog.
You REALLY can stream Internet TV through TCPMP on wifi!!!

Hi again. I actually bought PocketstreamerPro, only to find it way too restrictive and quite useless (as WMP 10 only shows TV in a small window and I can't find a workaround for it).
I fiddled around with TCPMP to no end, and to no avail I might add. But then I checked back to find your response, which implies that you can definately stream through TCPMP using the 'File Open' menu. Well, as there was nothing to link to (I had no format for storing the URL), I couldn't do it.
So I found a website called TV4all.com and copied some of the URLs there and typed them into the URL bar in my browser, which opened up Windows media player on my desktop PC. There I saved it as a '.mru' playlist (also checked in associations in TCPMP in addition to HTTP and MMS) and copied that file onto my storage card. TCPMP could and did find this and presto! I'm now streaming in full screen to my betaplayer (it takes a while to actually start working though). I now have access to potentially hundreds of Internet TV channels! I will explore further, but is this the way you do it? or do you have a much simpler process? feedback is most welcome right about now!!
Thanks for your help thus far though.

thats because you're using mini while he's using a VGA device, the universal
The file open dialog is to input a mms:// adress, or the http:// of a webpage linking to your content. If you input the webpage, you will get after that the list of all available streams on this page.
Hi, I have a question...
I have this app called "Streaming Video" under Programs. I guess it was there ever since I had this. I havent used it though coz I dont know how. I wanted to try video streaming but I dont know which RTSP url to put.. WOuld you know anything about this? Thanks..
.... additional: i tried opening azn.tv and saigontivi thru the video streaming app and its not working..
Anyone got any good pages that just offer direct links to the feeds ? Nearly every site I find you have to go through multiple pages and some of them wont even show properly.

how did u get to view you tube on your 8125? i have orb 2.0 and it keeps asking me for some codecs.
You have to download certain codecs and install them from there website. The codec that i installed to get the youtube videos to play was the ffdshow codec.
what do you guys mean? go to tinytube.net on your phone and you can download any video from 6 different sources, including, google, myspace, and break just to name a few.
its awesome

I second that. Nothing to install, just download away.

You CANNOT view youtube videos with tinytube.net. Plus it seems im always being queued to view a damn video. Orb is faster compared to the quality...only downside is you have to have your computer running. Which I dont find to be a problem personally
but most youtube videos are on google and myspace anyway
It seems that none of the offered solutions properly play streaming video. Anyone found any other way to do so?

I followed these instructions and the work very very well on my WM6 Kaiser.
http://www.allshadow.com/2007/11/28/how-to-watch-online-video/
Kind of off topic, but a little similar... Is anyone having problems downloading streaming media from these sites? I have an AT&T Tilt and whenever I click on a streaming link that is flashed based, Realplayer will come up and tell me this file format is not supported. But, there is no option anywhere to uninstall this thing! I also tried adding all associations /w TCPMP but still no luck. Anyone else running into this?

Play Flash Video (.flv) Directly on WM devices

Have you been trying to play youtube movies on your Dopod U1000? It used to be a process requiring conversion and the picture quality was not good. Not anymore.
Check this out:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/tcpmpflvplugin/
I've tried it and the picture quality is sensational. It is exactly the same as if you're watching it on the desktop.
Another thing I noted is that on some movies, the download program gives an invalid id message, although it would work for most of the youtube movies that I tried. I don't know the cause. In such situation, you still have the option of doing the download via the website stated in the link.
It only works on TCPMP though. This is not a problem for me because I happen to have chosen TCPMP over others all along.
Enjoy

If I am going to youtube and select a video, it is saying I am having JavaScript turned off or an old version of Flash Player.
What I am missing?
Thanks!

Hi
It's a plug-in for TCP and not for the browser, so there are two files included
to download the video's (one for windows, the other for WM5).
Download the file, and start TCP open the downloaded file and play.
good luck.

Cool! It works great! Kinda dificult to Cut and Paste links and then go to TCPMP to play file. Is there an Opera or IE script/plugin to automate this?

try vtap , any youtube or web based video file, no messing with files it just works . and it actually finds what your looking for.
its no brainer IMO
I like vtap - but it is, I believe, only youtube and googlevids (and wikipedia) and some people have said the quality isn't 100%
It's still what I use most tho.

played around with vtap too. wouldnt say the quality was unacceptible, but i found it stopped quite regularly. i find the tcpmp plugin excellent - no worse really than its desktop counterpart, except for the annoyance that after a while PIE throws a wobbly and refuses to comply giving the error 'video not found' and neccessitating a full restart of the program. i am using the pk black touch 2.0 rom -has anyone else had this problem?
on a second note, id love for this to work for other video sites
I use the PK 3.0 ROM where the tcpmp is included in the ROM package. How do i go about it when wanting to install the FlashVideoBundle cab file in the same location as the tcp-player? tried just downloading another tcp and put it on my sd-card and then the FVB-cab in the same place, but that didnt yield anything to write home to mom about ;-)
mobytube.net is another way to do this.

I found that if i reinstalled the requisite TCPMP file then run flashbundle it works perfectly. It didn't work with the built-in TCPMP for some reason. Don't install to your SD card as there's no point - you've got 256mb onboard to play with anyway!
Posted the cabs I used so you should have no problem.
Apparently this can play google video but I've had no luck - does anyone now how to do this?

Youtube movies?

Is it possible to get Youtube movies working on the BA (running WM6), and if so, what player do I need?
The TCPMP player gives me a "RTSP protocol not supported" error when trying to look at a Youtube movie :/
hi there!
there is some kind of plugin/addon, which allows you to download youtube movies to your pda....
just search this forum or google for it, here is ONE source!
hope that helps....
regards,
krz
I have that tcpmp plugin, and it does work most of the time. I've run into some files on youtube that still give me an unknown media format error. Not sure why.
The Avot Media Viewer that someone posted about here a week or so ago works great though.
http://www.avotmedia.com/
http://m.avotmedia.com/
The Avot is OK but it needs much work to be more than OK.
I use the vTap.
http://veveo.net/
Use the search bar to browse uploaded videos from any embedded video website (like youtube, metacafe etc).
You can also have a feature of searching into wikipedia articles!
Very cool...
After doing a bit more digging, I installed Streaming Media v 2.10 build 518.700 (from High Tech Computer Corp.) on it.
It's working GREAT!

hi everyone!
well, i installed the HTC STREAMING cab, which was included in xplode's cabs. i dont know, what version this actualy is...
anyway, i can playback youtube movies, but the performance sucks big time.... lots of stuttering, not enjoyable at all.... is it just me experiencing this problem?
is the BA oo slow to playback such vids?
or am i doing something wrong here?
thx in advance,
krz
you should check your internet connection too...
me again!
have to add, that i now have the FLASHVIDEOBUNDLE.cab installed, which not only gives me great streaming playback using TCMP Player (make sure u have installed the right version first!), but in addition to that gives me the oppotunity to save the flash videos to your storage right away....
VERY COOL CAB!!! KUDOS 4 THE (true) CREATORS!
btw: that STREAMING thing that came with xplode's cabs still doesnt work... (my internet connection is of course up and running!!)
cheers,krz
okay, after playing around a little bit and after installing/deinstalling/reinstalling HTC STREAMING Software, i am afraid i screwed up flv playback completely...
every time i try to load a youtube site, pocketIE crashes and my device freezes, leaving me with soft reset as only solution!
i tried to play back flvs on the youtube mobile site as well, with no sucess. nothing happens! the vids just dont load....
ARGH!!!!!
keeps crashing and crashing.... (pocketIE keeps loading, the suddenly freezes!)
when trying to play mobile youtube in pocketIE, nothing happens.... (just loads 0kb, then stops...)

Hey, im kinda new here but im interested in playing youtube videos on my wm6 htc mogul, i tried the RvBCrS_HTC_streamer but it dosent connect and it keeps giving me an error messege about connection failed even though im connected by wifi, any apps out there that can help me please let me noe, thanx
There is a link floating around for the TCMP player and the flash bundle. I can fully play google vids and youtube with no problem using it.
Try searching google for Vtap, its a program that lets you access videos from tons of sites, and works well too. In my opinion, its alot better and faster than using TCPMP, and PIE, plus you can get more videos. Try it out.
thanks stevenewjersey got the tcmp player with the flash bundle, works freakin great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The vtap download says its not a valid ppc file, any reason for that killerkhatiboy009? I would love to play more then a few vids and if vtap would work i would use it, any advise
Be warned there are a few versions of that TCMP player and flash bundle out there. Make sure you find the latest. Alot of the early versions stop working after a while and require a reinstall of the bundle
any chance giving us a link or name to that bundle?

Hmm, thats weird, it installs fine on my mogul and runs great. I think you might have to unlock it or something is what i've heard, some moguls need to be unlocked (as in they can install and run all files, not as in they can use any network). I'm not exactly sure how to fix it, maybe someone else knows how to do it. Sorry. It is a great program, and I think its a lot better than the TCPMP and Flash bundle, as it has an interface, and gets a lot more videos.
It's improperly named, just change it from .exe to .cab and voila
The youtube hack no longer works. An error about sfw args comes up. Hope some1 fixes it.

How did you dowload the vTap application? You should just have to point your phones browser to www.vtap.com. It shoudl then point you to the correct .cab file to download. If for some reason that still does not work, you can try pointing your browser to http://www.vtap.com/pub/vTap_ppc.cab. Could you tell me which phone you are using?
For all your youtube TCMP Flash bundle problems go to the site below.
They update the page every time youtube changes their files.
