great job, man! i got one suggestion: can u replace the keyboard driver with amadeus' one? it will perfectly work with feeler devices (fo sho), and will enable media buttons on amadeus, and there won't be any more complaining posts from amadeus users thanks!

FWIW, I tried this on a typhoon. Everything worked except the joystick. Might save someone else 5 minutes...

Just curious, what improvement does your ROM has over andot's one ?

Works fine on typhoon when you replce teh keyboard driver, keybddr.dll, no voice dialling on this rom either.

This ROM works well and everything you need to start with is there, except MMS as with andot's(It is available with andot's extras pack but will not install onto sp3dev's ROM). sp3dev's ROM has 9.45mb of free Program Memory at boot which can freed up a little more to 9.94mb using Celetask that comes with it. This is just as much free mem as Ronswens WM5 4.1 ROM. There's 25.88mb of free Device Storage. Most of all everything runs well (except the current issue with photo preview that's in all WM6 ROM's I know of, this is off by default anyway. Now I'm going to try out andot's ROM, just to compare...
edit: It's hard to say which is "best". Andot's has a few extra system tweaks such as a digital clock in the status bar while viewing apps, reboot in the quick menu (Celetask which you typically use in place of the quick menu has this), the standard Comm Manager which controls more than the Wireless Manager that comes with this one. But it doesn't have the what I consider vital apps such as the Cam/Video program which you need to take photos, Celetask, T9 text & Total Commander. While these can all be installed andot's ROM already has less Program Memory without them; 8.76mb free Program Memory at boot, 25.80mb of available Device Storage.
As both ROM's still need work it seems to come down to 2 deciding factors: sp3dev for system memory and andot's for features. I myself have personally chosen sp3dev's ROM for now. From what I can see andot's could well exceed this ROM in future updates, I presume there will be future updates in both ROM's...

edit: Well I have since swapped back to andots. The main reason was because there's no MMS composer available for sp3dev's rom except if you can find it there's arcsoft's mms 2003 composer which I found. It installed and ran but I need the english patch to test it (it's natively in Chinese). Secondly WM5torage doesn't work. Other than this it was very reliable and fast. Now that I'm on andot's ROM again I'm about to flash back when I get the chance as andot's ROM is just to touchy, I have had to pull the battery quite a few times after it's completely locked up. CorePlayer won't even play MP4's on this ROM, let alone movies...

Well, for one thing this ROM uses a newer version of the kernel (CE OS 5.2.1616 build 18120.0.4.0 for this ROM vs. 5.2.1235 build 15341.0.0.1)

Well, for one: this one does not crash (No service issue, calendar not working etc. after ActiveSyncing), so it is far better than andot's ROM (nothing personal andot, believe this is fully related to newer kernel)

1. STK manager not working for me (only first menu level like before)
2. The old usb driver not working well with wm5storage, the new one is NOT unstable for me, but beter funcionality }for the first time i experienced usb mass storage function on my SDA T-Mobile feeler device)
if it is possible to take back the new :unstable: driver, and fix the SK, it wuold be beter i think that andots ROM, which is another masterpiece...

I have try this "WM6 IMAGE".
The SMS on SIM managing have same lacks and SIM NUMBER CONTACT have a BAD graphic looks (big caracter size)...
It's good SP3DEv have a camera driver BUILT IN (ANDOT image haven't it, It's needed to put in .cab files), and ONLY English menu language (CHINESE not necessary for EUROPEAN PEOPLE..so same memory more it's free!).
The simlpy of "WIRELESS MANAGER" (for me bluethoot it's very important for GPS navigation on TomTom and for CAR HEARPHONE...I can ACTIVE IT IN FEW PRESS OF BOTTON) it's better than ANDOT.
I have no try if It have "HARD RESET" bugs like ANDOT image

I cannot save any pictures using this ROM (get a message that the Album is missing). Any suggestions to solve this issue.
Furthermore: is there a way to solve the issue that only the red phone button gets the device out of standby mode?

I've just installed this ROM after Andot's one.
But I found that my GPRS connectivity is missing - the G icon on the title bar disappeared. How can I fix this issue? Is it firmware related or is it a setting somewhere?
EDIT: after 2 restarts it just appeared. Hmm strange, I'll keep exploring.

Oh....it's fine.....
this can works on 1.58 or 1.64 either 1.70OliNex radio roms
if you don't want to change to other Radio , just flash HardSPL and make sure it really installed , then flash my rom. If SIM card still failed , then works on SIMunlock.

I have one of the russian 6.1 roms installed but it doesn't have manila 2d in it.
I want to ask you a few question before I put this one
1. Do you have Wi-Fi, because when i installed the manila 2d beta for all devices, it didn't switch on/off wi-fi.
2. How does the device hold up in general - any hangups, problems with gsm module or third party apps?
3. I noticed a problem with netcf based programs in the russian rom (like when you run some keygens based on netcf they report an error with the netcf dlls). Does this rom have it too?
4. Which one do you prefer - Manila 2d or SPB shell?

Till now I was using SPB and I was more then happy with it.
You also have manila,iPHONE,wm7 shells for SPB

I installed the latest manila rom and Im very happy with it, I even installed spb 2,1 with diomond and I tell you it´s fantastic. I can switch from one to he other with no problem.
I fine it very fast and stable, all my app is working fine.
I recomend this rom. up to now its the fastest I tested.

To make the WiFi on/off working please make the following registry change:
You have to change key name and its value.
Before change:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\CommManager\WLAN]
"Default"="\Windows\wrlsmgr.exe"
After change:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\CommManager\WLAN]
"DeviceName"="{98C5250D-C29A-4985-AE5F-AFE5367E5006}\SDIO86861"

Thanks man. Now we have wi-fi.
This rom really works very well and also has very useful apps in it. I have no problems with talking, the battery drains significantly slower than with the original rom. I only have some issues with the NetCF 2.0 - some of the programs report errors with it. I found some dlls from netcf 3.5 and replaced them in the /windows directory but still the same problem. If someone has any solution please post.

- first upgraded my Ipaq (german version) to FW 0.88 and OS 1.01.04 wwwEnglish Version (download SP40097.exe fromHP and exchange Romupdate.dll enclosed)
-use this Rom
all apps working fine like TomTom, GPS, Cam, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Phone

Internet widget doesn't work because there is no Opera browser in this ROM. I think when you install Opera it start to work. On this Manila version the Internet browser link is hardcoded to Opera. As I know in the newest Manila version it is possible to change the link to different browser. At this moment the newest Manila works only on HTC devices - we can't install it on our HP.
For youtube you should try to install HTCYouTubeQVGA cab. It can be found at:

I think the file should be taken from update #19 - as it is also for non HTC devices.

In the whether it does not change to the following day, you do the update it stays on the same day.
eg: If i do the update today and when I go to whether tomorrow it has the last day on the screen and not the actual day.
how can it be fixed.

what do you get wit FW 0.88? In detail I could not tell you but the complete package made (FW update + Rom) makes my Ipaq much more faster and the power consumption is significant less than before. I am happy with it.
How to install: go to the HP support side and download the romupdate (int. english) - install, if you have a different languange than int. english use the romupdate.dll I provided. Second install this rom as discribed. Third edit the registry for wifi access - use and be happy.

I have this manilla ROM. Can I install FW update without any impact on current ROM or after FW update I have to put new ROM?
I have solved problem with Internet widget. I had beta version of Opera and with 2520 it is working.

I confirm all this.
the rom looks very nice but not ready for everyday use

Guys, I have not had yet the chance to try it myself, will do it as soon as I am back from work, but just a quick question, have you done a Hard Reset after installing this ROM?
I have just seen a post of PhamQUang in PDAVIET asking to do this, because in his opinion the today button and everything is working just fine if you do this. It wouldn't be the first time we see this issues either way (already seen them in version 12 if I am not mistaken)

thanks for the hard reset tip...worked for me...
i have to say this rom is quite well...can anyone answer why isnt there the new version of internet explorer in phamquangs roms?
PROS:titanium is fast, newer build, new honeycomb interface, the icons are more windows mobile 6.5 icons..
CONS: need to hard reset for things to work...titanium panels such as weather,comn manager can go haywire sometimes...device vibrates sometimes for no reason...internet explorer is old

Hello, I finally got to my house and installed the new ROM. After doing the HARD RESET it is working fine, no issues with the Today button.
BUT, for what I have seen so far... it is slooooooooow. Version 13 was faster, without any doubt.
On the other hand, let's remember that the according to the specifications of WM6.5 this OS requires a processor faster than the one the OPAL has...

could anyone tell me i should download the new link which was edited today? or can i still use the original link that was given yesterday? bcoz todays link has the word _FIX at the last point. anyone please answer?

thats truth but before my opal i had an elf with a 6.5 rom running pretty fast

hi, i'm just about to change my chinese rom [1.26.sinotak.chs] to this latest one but i'm not sure if after that it'll still support Chinese.. anybody knows? thx in advanced for you reply

I had downloaded the fixed one. after I had flashed it to mobile, i quickly do hard reformat. points I mentioned before did not appear again, the room is fast.
Just tow notes, when turning the mobile in to stand by, it should not accept any key press to go on again unless i press on power button again, which is not this what happened, if u press on any key, then it come back to live again. 2nd note, when browse for contact to see its details, pressing red button should return in to
today screen, which is not happened unless i press on OK.

if i wanna add an arabic package to the firmware, to install during customizations, can anybody lead me how to do it!! i had extacted all firmware, but dont know how to add packages and rebuild the firmware.

dude go to settings/system/keylock/ then select the option lock all buttons except power button.....thats it

Very good ROM. It is faster than v15, it has a fresh UI update. It is more stabe... It's better)))

may be you should upload rom without others programms? it's look like a windows with nlite =(

I tried the V15 and I didnt like it very much. Very pretty, looks very nice, but too slow and with so many crashes. Comparing to this one, I think this one it's much much better. No crashes. Slow? don't even think about it. Fast and stable. Congratulations for the cook =D

One problem with V15 that I m facing is battery drains too fast... my morning alarrm never wakes me up :-(
Lets see how good is this V16

this version is more stable than 15 but sometimes the comm manager's widget don't work properly. Yesterday evening i did'nt have a possibility to save a new contact number, today morning however i do!
The rom is quite slow but not bad!
The boot image is fantastic!
i think positive about the next version!!

yes u can find some chinese roms on oiopda but u have to register i think..

good and excellent one, but i had problem with the keyboard, when i use the phone keypad, its always writes numbers, even when writing an email or msg. pls note that i had installed the arabization package. Pls advise what i should do! another favoure, if i sent u the arabizarion package, can u include it in the firmware itself like the original viva firmware! i tried to do this through the kitchen, but i could not understand how to do it.

I downloaded this ROM yesterday. this things really its got a nice finish along with good amounts of speed. Job Well Done.
Am reporting two problems though (i dont know wat else to call the second one)
1)While text msging "phone keypad" enters only numbers. doesnt take letters.
2)Tried installing manila. It said that it was unable to find manila config file.
Am not going bak to v13. Once u get a feel of smoothness u wouldn't wanna go back.

one question about mortscript, can i do to erase the welcome message about mortscript? It's very boring!!! Thank's!

Yes its a new version of internet explorer. But i dont know what version is or where can i download the cab. Anybody know???
