and I definetly do not want to pay for them....
any help would be apprecieated..
Are you on tmobile? If so you have to logon to my-tmobile and change the notification settings to not send you an sms.
how to stop email coming up as SMS Text Message
Maybe: within "pocket msn" options, page sms: uncheck sms-delivery.
it was tmobile alert... i unchecked it...
thats also why it was trying to download 120 messages that were not in my inbox .... damn thing
but... now problem solved
I have this same problem with Cingular blue. My mmode emails are coming in as sms's and i cant reply becasue of it. any ideas?
I have a T-Mobile MDA with POP 3 account set up with auto check every 5 minutes. It is working quite well, however everytime it goes out to check and pulls back the emails I also get a Text message with the header of one of the emails. I have checked all my settings and cant figure it out.
I am using the built in mail system with the MDA. Any ideas? It made me go over my text messages for last month.
The only T-Mobile option that will do that is if you setup that account in "My Email" and no longer have "DAT Triggers" installed on your phone. Either way the text messages you recieve shouldn't count in your SMS limit, if they do this may not be a T-Mobile related issue.
Either way, if it is T-Mobile related you can delete the email account by logging into MyT-Mobile in PocketIE on your phone and hitting "Manage E-Mail" or something similar. Just delete the account and the SMSs should stop.
Like i said though if the messages are counting against your SMS quota this isn't coming from T-Mobile...
I had MyEmail configured for an MDA on my other account that i returned and didn't know i had to delete the MyEmail config even after removing the MDA plan features from my phone. Got about 900 or so text messages from T-Mobile for email as it sent me an SMS for every email. At the end of the month T-Mobile said i still had only used 200 of my 400 quota...
Is it an actual text message or just the notification message appearing at the bottom of your today screen?
It was the Mytmobile account. Some how it set up an account on Mytmobile and would send me a text message everytime I got an email. I deleted the account on mytmobile and now all is well.
thanks
Hi All
Somehow I just cannot send Text (SMS) from my HTC cell.
I have configured the Web GPRS setting & the internet works, I can send MMS messages but cannot send SMS msgs. Though I can receive SMS msgs sent to me. Wierd uh..... I inserted my SIM card into another phone & I can send & receive msgs. So I know it has to do with some setting on my new HTC cell.
Can someone please shed some light on this
Thanks

I think it could be in some file or registry. Because wm's creators missed this option in GUI.
I have the same problem like guys above.
Maybe someone know where is this log to edit it manually. I mean SMS Service Center...
Thanks for any reply!
how about sending SMS only?
I am trying to get my TouchPro to send SMS instead of MMS. I have the phone 514 number for text message settings. I don't want to send a text and ppl who received it gets it like a MMS.
Ok, since updating to the new flash and radio. the only things i see different is when i click on the Verizon Wireless icon it does nothing and when i click on unread messages it shows sms/mms, outlook E-mail and setup e-mail. i am fine with it just saying txt, sms and mms. how can i do this please?
my question about the txt messaging. before when you clicked on no unread messages it would show txt messaging, sms and mms. now i don't see txt messaging. how do i txt now?
and when i slide the keypad open or closed it doesn't make the sound. so i went to a site and was going to add a sound in but when it tells you to go into the registry i don't see the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\SlidingSound
i don't see the "slidingsound" location either.
Lastley when my wife send me picture msgs i don't get them. only getting txt messages?
thanks
sounds like you have several things going on here, and you need to do alot of reading in the Titan Upgrading forum to get your answers
1) your ROM might not have MMS
2) your MMS might not be configured correctly
3) you may need to reinstall your carrier cab
4) you may need the newest Archsoft MMS cab
in threaded SMS, all your messaging, whether it is text or picture, will be in the same message dialog. picture messages will show up in the threaded SMS as just a little picture icon, which you can click on to view the picture.
if your wife sends you a (nude) picture and NOTHING happens on your phone, you have no MMS at all (currently). if your wife sends you a (sexy) picture and you receive some kind of error, you have MMS but it is not configured correctly, and you need to change your MDN key to your 10 digit phone number. if your wife sends you a (dirty) picture and you receive it in your threaded SMS, forward it to ME!
I'm wondering, is there a way to manually edit the SMS server? I know you can edit the MMS, but I'm wondering if the SMS can be edited manually as well. Or somehow edit just the HTC Messaging app to pull messages from an internet server instead of OTA? I'm trying to configure google voice sms to go directly into my SMS inbox and be replyable from there as well as long as I have internet access.
Phone / Menu / Options / Voice Mail and Text Messages.
Cheers
LB
yeah, that's still OTA, it uses the SMSC to send/receive text messages, I'm talking about actually editing the HTC Messaging registry to use an internet protocol, not a phone number
