Very low speakerphone volume... - XPERIA X1 General

I've tried that Registry hack to change that volume from 1 to a higher number but it hasn't changed the volume of the speakerphone...
Now before anyone says to 'use headphones' I use the speakerphone to receive calls when i'm driving and i've tried bluetooth headphones and find them cumbersome...
My speakerphone from my previous phones was sufficient, but this speakerphone is very very quiet and the recepient cannot hear me either...
Can anyone help?

That's why you get an N95

Yea the speakerphone volume is too low. I have to agree with poetryrocksalot that the N95 has a much louder speakerphone volume, but that is definitely not a "solution".

not only the speaker phone....also the ringtone
i always miss call after i change to use X1

xperia has only 1 small speaker not like the n95 (which i used to own) there are some programs out there that can actually make the xperia speaker louder, it worked for me but the alarms, i dunno, i prolly sleep like rock so i can't hear it. hehe

actually yes ! the speaker is very low, btw I use this soft to make it louder...
just Install, go to Volume control and star testing, I just active the first box and the last one by high, the middle one is too much...
After changes soft reset!.... if it doesn't work PM me, to upload a new fix
NOTE: USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK !!!!!!!

Hack to increase earpiece volume on JAM?

Has anyone found a hack to increase the speaker volume when holding the JAM to your ear. My hearing is not good at all...remember when mom used to say "turn that music down, you'll go deaf" turns out the old girl was right.
The volume on the JAM seems even lower to me since doing the latest ROM update. There must be a registry setting to increase the volume. I've not seen anything that jumps out, but I'm willing to bet that there is a way.

low earpiece volume
hi paragon,
I fully support your criticism about the poor audio level at max setting. There must be sufficient potential in increasing the audio level since there is the loudspeaker function available.
Now 2 people are waiting desperately for a solution by a honourable specialist which allows for an icrease of the basic volume setting.

Well, the speakerphone on this thing isn't actually isn't any louder than the regular earpiece!
did anyone find a solution to this one?? I hope it's not the old change the rom to 1.12? I'm happy so far with 1.06 apart from the low front speaker volume.
Phil
i'm using 1.12 and i struggle to hear ppl as well. i ran by this app earlier today on i forgot which site that says its the ultimate hack tool. i'll browse through my histor and see if i find it and figure out if it can increase the volume.
Unfortunately it's generally considered that it's not possible to activate speakerphone programmatically, which will mean that automatically switching to speakerphone isn't going to help too much.
I tried setting up a profile to turn the volume down to a reasonable level, and then activate speakerphone and use that as the earpiece. That way the screen doesn't get sweaty and you've got better sound straight to the ear. However, some people on the other end of the line say the recieved sound isn't so great. I don't see why it should be any worse. Play around with AGC in the settings panel. Anyone else care to report on this idea?
V
i found the app, its tweaks2k2net unfortunately nothing with earpiece volume... and about the using the speakerphone instead, i've had ppl complain that they cant hear my clearly as well.. is the mic also bad on this phone?

volume too high with 3.5mm headset

Hi all,
as I dont like the sound quality of the htc headset that came with the jade I bought an adapter mini-usb to 3.5mm to fit my in-hear sony headset.
Now I have a problem that at the minimum volume level the person on the other side of the line during a call is actually still quite loud and I can not find any way to set the lowest value lower!
While listening to music now is excellent, as with windows media player I can decrease the volume as much as I want, I can not do the same with phone calls!
I looked into registry tweaks but they didnt do the job.
Anybody had the same issue...?
Thanks for any help
Get some earphones with a built in volume control.

So. it's about the person at the receiving end hearing it loud, not you. What you can control is the volume of your earpiece, not the other end. You cannot control the speaker unit. So you have to speak more softly or put the mic a little bit further away.

Wired Headset: Too loud music/Too low phone voice?

I've searched everywhere with no solution for this. My wired headset has a very loud music volume, but when I make/receive a call, the conversation voice is way too low that I can barely hear it (no mic problems though, because the other party hears me clearly).
Any ideas?
Anybody ?

with respect to the headset ,
1. the htc headset that comes with the hd2 is of very bad quality so don't use it
2. when talking to some one pres volume up and a volume controller will appear , adjust it ,it is low by default just put it to the max , it is a hidden controller not adjustable except during doing a call.
i also answered it on our group for general help
actually, the headset is quite good. the problem is the jacks driver. its output voltage is higher than allowed, many cheapo headsets and FM transmitters do not like this and overdrive then.

I have to agree that the headset is quite good, because the music volume is rocking-n-rolling, also the headset's microphone has a good voice quality, as the other party hears my voice loud-n-clear. The problem is - and only is - with the very low conversation volume.
This is kinda frustrating, lol
Hmmm .. Bump!
Bump again :s

Yea, with no use. Again, the problem isn't with the System volume .. Music volume through the headset is greatly loud, it's just the other party's voice during a call :s
Alright, just found out that call volume using wired headset is working perfectly while running Android. Glad it's not a hardware/headset issue.
Mods, you may close the thread now.

Sound level during calls

I dont know what I am doing wrong but I find the sound level extremely poor for calls
I tried with a bluetooth headset, the outside speaker and the jack with my mp3 headset
it's pretty weird since when I play videos or music I am impressed by how loud I can push the Tab...
I am on AT&T with JMC (but was the same on JM6). And I set the sound at max
anybody has the same issue? Am I doing something wrong? Or is there any sound booster app for calls? (and is it necessary?)
Thanks for your help
My Tab isn't phone-enabled, but since you're new to Android, I thought I should point out that there are multiple volume settings, and in-call volume is one of them. Menu Key -> Settings -> Sound Settings -> Volume should give you all the sliders (Ringtone, Media, Alarm, System, Notification...). There are apps/widgets too that let you get to/change these settings without having to go into the settings menu every time (audio manager has been a decent widget for me). Until you're actually in the call the hardware rocker is usually doing the ringtone or media volume.
When I use mine with Skype 60% is usually blaringly loud for me, and I don't even have the system or media volume maxed out.
Sorry if it's something you know you've done, but thought it might help. If not, maybe someone else has had the same issue and solved it.

yes this I had figured out and set at the maximum
Everything non call related is really strong... It's conversation from normal calls that is ridiculously low
Am I the only one ?? What's wrong with my tab ?
Anyone with an opinion about this ?
Voice-enabled on AT&T with JM6. Have good results with the built-in speakers and cheap Nokia BH-214 stereo Bluetooth earbuds. I ordered the OEM earbuds, but I do understand that the 3.5mm jack port in finicky. Is your Bluetooth 2.1 or newer? Do you have many open applications when trying to place or receive calls? I've notice the sound stutter a bit on the speakers when I've got several apps open.
Here's something I noticed, when in call using my BT Headset, the volume slider sometimes says its on max but the output isnt. Try to lower or increase your volume. Once you hear the max level beep, it gets louder.
Im on a SingTel Tab by the way.

Edit: yeah I can definitely reduce the volume but my max was my actual max. As anybody tried to compare the volume on the speaker when playing music whith the volume on the speaker when on a call... It's like 5 to 10 times higher volume on a call !! And then same issue on a headset

As mentioned I tried it with everything I could... The default external speaker, a simple stereo headset (Not bluetooth), a bluetooth headset. They all give the same. Low volume
If you don't like volume in speaker, headset, bluetooth....You can change settings in "hidden" Audio menu. There you can change volume of individual ouput, but be careful!!!!!
Before change anything, make sure you can put it back the same number if you are not satisfied or have problem ..so wright it somewhere anything you wish to change.
Good Luck with experiment. If I remember correctly(from my old Samsung i780-Windows phone) "TX" settings is for output and "RX" for imput, but I can be wrong, so be careful.

what I do is, when in a call, I lower the volume by about 2, then increase it until i hear the max volume beep. The moment i hear it, the volume on my headset usually jumps up.
I have the same problem with the speaker volume. At maximum you cannot hear it. The bluetooth seems to work OK. IIRC JK5 software seemed to work correctly.

So I guess for you too, music or movies play with a high volume on the speakers whereas for calls it's rather low volume ?
Yes bluetooth or headset I can hear but still quite low volume compared with music...

My problem is specifically for calls. Anything else is fine and working well. That's the weird issue... I dont want to boost the volume for anything else!
That's pretty weird... I have been playing with the tab and I found out that for calls, the highest level I can have (by hear) is two notches below the highest. That's by far the loudest I get (If I push higher the sound decreases)
Am I the only one ? It really pisses me off.... I don't know how it can be like that (I am on JMC ROM after flashing a JM6 ROM over the JK5 from Russia (I am on an AT&T Tab flashed to get phone working)
Someone else get the same experience ?
I can confirm that the max 'in call' volume is two notch below the max !!! And I have the same tab/setting of the OP.
Aren't there some codes you can enter to adjust the volume level on calls and music, etc.?? like the Galaxy S?

Thanks ! Ina sense I am a littel bit relieved to see I am not the only one !
Such a stupid bug. Come on Samsung...
FYI it is fixed with the firmware JME
Sound level is much more acceptable and the highest level is not anymore two notched below the max

Speakerphone too loud

The speakerphone is too loud and I can't make it go lower. There are only a few breakpoints and the lowest one is still too loud. I can turn off speakerphone and turn up the volume and it's okay but I have to be really really close since the mic won't be as sensitive.

The question would be, is there a way to lower to speakerphone volume beyond the limit they set?
I noticed that I couldn't lower my volume below like 1/3 of the bar when using speakerphone. I was annoyed by it, but I rarely talk on the phone, let alone speakerphone.
Any success with the RMA? My bottom speaker is definitely buzzing from being too loud.
Any solution for this issue please? I am having this problem (in call volume to loud) over any ROM I install. Even now with nougat the problem is still here
