is there any reason why my pda wont record videos wth sound? It also doesnt play any video, even if they are avi, mp4, 3gp, with sound. Only image. Is there a driver or smth that needs to be installed? I should mention that it starts working ok after a soft reset, and then goes back to not working after few hours of pda using. Thanks.
Are you sure you have checked in camera settings to record movie with audio?
this is a joke, right?
No, there is a setting in the camera settings to set the video recorder to record with audio or record video only.

Man its not that. I am not that dumb. Its a problem with some drivers or something.
Have you tried a hard reset yet? That might fix the problem or flash a new ROM.
Lol. Thanks, but I am trying to solve it without the hard reset.
i have a similar problem. it appeared that the video's i recorded did not have sound with them.
when i did sync via USB on my 8525 to my pc (2k) they showed up as .mp4's and played default with VLC media player. however i couldn't get them to have sound. i went back on my 8525 and played them on the phone and they all have sound
please advise??

I am trying to play videos with TCPMP 0.72RC1 and it works lousy.
Compared to the same video playing on Ipaq 4150, there are ALOT of artifacts in the video.
Also, after a few seconds of playing the whole screen goes NUTS!
Any ideas?
you can try this fix

i got a samsung bd-c5500 to be able to stream from my phone and vice versa... neither work..
the player can see the phone and browse the videos directory and i can start playing and it plays for a few seconds then freezes up and eventually minutes later jumps to a different video...
on the flipside the phone does not show the blue ray player .. i guess you cannot stream in that direction?
updates firmware on dvd player still no go..
can play music or images from phone just all videos freeze will experiement with diff. formats.. but the same videos play on phone...
as a side note at least the c5500 does play my blu ray burned disked on red laser disks ..
I can be watching a tv episode, or a movie, doesn't matter. 75% through the file and the audio starts over at the beginning while the video continues to play through as normal. Making it impossible to finish a movie. I have tried wiping, trying different ROMS, different media players, and also different video converters. I am converting hdtv, bd, and regular avis into mp4 format with video at 600kb/s and audio from 96 to 128kbps keeping the framerate the same as source, and have also tried changing framerate to 23.97 and other fps settings to no avail. The video and audio play perfectly fine for the first hour or so then magically my problem happens, the audio starts over and the video plays as normal. What on earth is causing this? It's very frustrating. I have been dealing with this for months and had given up, but now that dexter season 5 is out, I MUST WATCH IT!
Any help is GREATLY appreciated. I am currently running Sparksmod 1.6.
Also I should probably note, when I watch these converted files on the PC they play perfectly fine all the way through.
I updated to 3.1 and tried playing few movies...but no sound at all
i tried with nemo and mobo...but with music files there is sound..
how to fix this?
I'm running taboonay and occasionlly lose sound with videos, but other app sounds still work. Usually a reboot clears it up for me. Don't know if thats the same issue.

I noticed the same thing right after I updated. No sound with movies, no matter what player or what format.
I tried playing some music to see if that was affected also. When I launched PowerAmp (great app, btw), my music also has no sound...but for just a couple of seconds. The sound came back for my music (after fiddling with the volume controls) and then after I checked, it was back for my movies.
Try that out. Maybe it will work for you.

If it didn't work on 3.0 then check if the sound is maybe AC3.
There are problems with that.
I found that Vplayer is able to play it with sound, so you may try that also.
In my case it plays 720P movies with AC3 sound without any problem.
So i bought it, after trying the trial version
I'm also using vplayer. I tried Rock player (loved it on my phone and hated it on my tablet) and MoboPlayer (hated the confusing playlist that added all the movies even those I didn't want to add).
So far no problems with 720p or anything else even when streaming (unless I have low signal).
Now it works..i installed the Roboplayer and its codec...did a reboot and then it started playing...thinking how could acer ship it leaving the user to fix it

Then save your data and do a hard reset. It will get you up and running.
do you mean the factory reset? if so i tried that and it still doesn't play anything?
I'm assuming it was mere coincidence for me, but after I got the update, I tried to play a movie off of my thumb drive. Movie played without using ntfs mount, but I had no sound. I had sound when I clicked on the screen, and when I typed. Ended up unrooting, then rooting with the new IconiaRoot1.3 and after a reboot, sound and video playback worked no problem. Also used the netflix patch and it worked perfectly too.
i still have the same issue after i tried the solutions that allrady posted so please help..
i'm new in this form (^_^)....
Solved my no sound issue.
After playing around with several players, I discovered an option in MXplayer and Rockplayer that gives you the option to select Hardware decoding or Software Decoding. Using Hardware decoding, I didn't get any sound. When I switched to Software decoding, all my movie sounds started working. In the MXplayer, I did have to go in and "clear records" under preferences for the sound to start working.
I hope this helps others too.

yeah ... u get sound this way ... but the movie is very choppy ..
when u select hardware decoding the movie is smoooooth but no sound
I had this exact problem last night after updating and figured out what was causing it. The update made MoboPlayer default back to hardware decoding. I changed the setting back to software decoding and presto, I have sound again. Hope the same is true for you.
Sorry, just noticed that wirles said the same thing. I am noticing no issues with choppiness, but the videos I play are usually not HD.
yeah .. i know .. but the video is choppy again.
