Hello, i installed advanced configuration tool 3.3 and by default it disabled the popup on sms sent. I re-enabled that, but now everytime i send an sms, i get the sound+popup. Is there a way to disable that sound? I searched in sounds-notify but it's not there.
up....anyone?
ck Settings>Sounds&Notifications>Sounds and see if the Notification box is ck'd or unck'd. You want it ck'd for sound.

i'd like it were so easy. If i uncheck the notification sound, i dont get neither the RECIEVED sms sound. While i want only to disable the sound i get when i SEND sms.

When I get an e-mail it displays on the envelope from Pocket MSN, but I don't hear a sound that I installed in the setting. What Iám doing wrong?
have you tried to preview the sound?
also in settings/sound & notifications make sure "Programs" is ticked for enable sounds for.
hope this helps
I have tried to preview the sound, and it worked. I have done the same by sms and when I get an sms I get a soundnotification, but when I receive an e-mail I don't get a soundnotification.
is there any way to turn off the sound when i get the notification after each text message sent on o2...its getting annoying because I cant find any options to turn the sound off even when the phone is set to vibrate.
i have the same problem, and the sent message notification hack doesn't solve it.
it seems whenever you send a message the wizard makes a sound and shows your updated balance.
i'll try and figure it out, anyone any ideas? it seems to be a service thing as it happened on the magician and razr phones also.

What 'balance' do you see..... I just get the default "Message sent" popup
you should be able to disable notifications in the account settings of sms. I for one like the notification, I just would like to give them another sound or volume...
Hey, does anyone know how to change the notification sound when you receive a SMS? I have the short standard "tune", but I want it to be like the sound you get when you tap a pencil ONCE on a table.
I can't find anything in the manual. Do I need separate software?

Settings->Sounds and Notifications
go to Notifications tab at bottom of screen
For Event: Choose "Messaging: New text message"
Then choose the settings you want.. sound file/vibrate etc. hit OK and you're set.
And if you'd like other sounds than the ones suplied on device, than drop some .wav files in the \windows directory on the device....you can them pick them in the above described way
SMS sent sound
Has anyone sussed out how to change or mute the sound the trinity makes straight after sending an SMS? The menu has every other option except that one and the actual file cannot be deleted!
Not only wav files can be dumped in the windows folder, mp3's will work aswell.
Works on WM6 anyway

Use TrinityHack to disable it
Hi I have a question to ask. Whenever I received a sms, the notification sound will be played til the end even I had already read and close the sms. Is it always like that on a Kaiser or is there anything I can do to disable it?
I still want to have the sound though.

thats the way to go, best little bit of kit ive installed on mine so far to be honest.
it was reallyannoying, having the notification pop up on screen ater a text message was sent, and i had to "dismiss" it.
now its allllll gone!!!
lol
Dudes, how can I disable the sound that the device makes after sending a sms? (without muting the whole pda of course).
Why don't you disable "message sent" notification?
ok, searched everywhere...
where can I find that option?..
Install Trinity Hacks and select Phone tab, then check Disable SMS Sent Notification.
You can find it here.
Great man. Thnx!!!!
First of all I am rooted -=- already everything works fine for me only one thing I am having issues,, I installed Handcent…and made it my default TEXTING app
But I still get notifications from the messaging app that came pre installed
..
I did go to settings>I unchecked Auto retrieve and Notifications on the pre installed so
I won’t get it notification from the preinstalled app
It was doing good before the ROOT
But now I get both apps notifying me?
Can anyone give some advice?
To resolve this issue
yeah just go to the settings of the default txting app and turn off notifications there.
I did still get both notifications
Sent from my vibrant
using XDA App
1. The auto retrieve is for multimedia messages - if you leave it unchecked it will send you a message asking if you want to download it, then it will come to your phone (So, i'd probably re-enable that)
2. I doubt this will make a difference, so you can try to skip over the 3 if you want, but, you can try re-enabling the notifications, selecting the "silent" ringtone, and then disable the notifications again (just in case there was a bug about the notification box)
3. This is what most likely is the problem and I'm at work so I don't have time to test out all the combinations, but do you have another app that controls sounds (ringo, sms alert, etc.) that could be sounding an alert as well? Test out changing different alerts and txting yourself (either from your phone or set up a google voice account and send them quicker) and see what alert is really is that's notifying you besides handcent.
good luck, I'll check back after work!

thanks let me try a few combinations
What you have to do is first reset defaults for text messages under Samsungs text app. Now go to handcent and turn off notifications. Now next time you get text click the one notification you got. It should ask you what app you want to use to open it. Default it to handcent. You now only have one notification. It's a crappy workaround but its the only thing that works. You can try to uninstall twizmms but usually that causes more problems then it solves
If my ways don't work i'd say try psychoace's idea...it sounds like it'll work.
And I guess if ur like acjones you might want the auto retrieve off (maybe high schooler with lady friends...?) But for those of us without an issue its just an extra step, and has nothing to do with the notification tones
On a Vibrant, using this app-thingy
