Windows Media Player Problem - Touch HD General

hi, is it possible that windows media player work in the background all the time and not come to front??, (From file explorer if we click on any media file windows media player will popup in the front. I want it to work in background even if I click a media file from the explorer.) is it possible please advice.
sorry for bad English.

So, No body here to help me ??

MOre developers here who I think can help me but nobody is free at the moment.

I don't know if it's possible to have MP start directly in background when clicking on a media file, but I know that once it has started, you can let it run in the background and do whatever you want with your PPC.

That I know but when it will be running in background, if I will click on a new media file from Explorer it will again come in front. I want to stop this thing. is there anyone who can help me ?

Windows Mobile Media Player problem...

Hi All,
I have recently been getting an error message in Windows Mobile Media Player (Windows Media Player) on my XDA Mini S saying;
"No combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection"
And i cant seem to figure out why. I cannot play any videos or sound clips on my mobile, and i cannot find an alternative way to view video or sound files on my XDA.
Is there any chance anyone knows where i can download a new versionof Windows media player for my Windows mobile 5 device? or does anybody have any resolution for this?
Thanks for your time
I do not think there is a newer version to this problem but I was recently having trouble with WMP and I downloaded Pocket Player and have really liked it.
Doesn't seem to have that many bugs, has a today plugin (if wanted), is quite easy to use - maybe give it a try!
Where did you download Pocket Player from? and was it free etc... because i have searched on www.pocketgear.com and it is $19.99
To be honest, i really wasnt planning on paying for a Media player, however, if i cannot get the media player on my phone fixed, i will have no choice!
Thanks
Have you tried cold booting? Or TCPMP?
Yes PocketPlayer does cost you; I understand not wanting to pay for a media player especially since one that is supposed to work comes with the phone - i just couldn't deal with WMP.
Try TCPMC - its free and it may not have all the organizational features of WMP, but does play DivX files

you'd better try another media player such as RealOnePlayer (supports video and music) if you are interested you can try this...

windows media player mobile reg edit.

I installed some sh!tty player on on my precious wizard, then removed it. Now I can't open my media files with wmplayer. I mean I can open them from the inside of the player, but not when I browse them from file explorer. I looked for reg edit command to change the program media files open with, but now luck? Anybody knows how to do this?
Also I cannot seem to get my image vieweing thing to do a slideshow.
Thanks -Greg.
Just choose the file you want to play in file explorer and then click menu-->open path-->new path and direct it to WMP in the windows folder. After that, all of your files of the same type should open with WMP again, atleast that's how you fixed it in WM2003 anyway. I haven't had to try it in WM5 or WM6 to know for sure.
I don't know about the slideshow thing though, I've never used that before.

The crappy player you installed was associated with (wav) files that are for windows media player. Try re-installing that same player, look at its file associations, uncheck (wav) may have kept settings after removal, and then remove the player again if you still don't want it. soft re-set, check files in file explorer, and if all the above actuated, the files should have the wmp icon. Word of advice from experience....always remove settings from programs that were installed before you remove that program. As far as slide show, are you meaning where songs play in sequence (queued up)? By the way, what was the crappy player? I've removed a few of them myself..
hey guys thanks much for replies. Xeno I couldn't get the path thing to work. If I type in \windows\wmplayer.exe it just opens player in library mode, doesn't change the way it opens either. The player was pocket dvix player. I was looking for something that will play AVI dvix and xvid files. Now I installed something called TCPMP pocket pc player and it works very very well.
TCPMP is way better than WMP anyway. Sorry the open path didn't work, but like I said, I wasn't sure if it still worked that way or not in WM5 and 6. Atleast now you have a better media player. TCPMP is the only player I ever use.

DLNA

hi everybody,I moved this question from Q andA section,no one replayed ..maybe here and sorry for posting same thread again ...
I have tried to share my files in the DHD with PC using DLNA with Windows media player and there was no problem to see PC files in DHD., but can't see any from DHD on Media player... any ideas why DLNA works only one way? Thanks... (same with Nero mediahome too)..
You will need to select the files on your phone you wish to share on your network. Media Player on your PC has already configured media to share.
Go to android market and search for DLNA or media share to find programs that will allow you to do this. Once shared, files will be visible from your phone.
Hey georgito,
Which program are you using to connect to PC and vice versa?

...the default one-connected media..and skifta too...both same results, files are playable only on phone...
You can play files from your DHD on your computer using the Windows Media Player (on Win7 it works, I think Vista should be fine too, not sure for XP though - you might need to update the WMP). You have to enable "remote control" on the player settings and then you can play files drectly. There is no way without a third party software to get DLNA on the DHD working like a media shared folder (the way the DHD can see the files shared on your computer).
..yeah..I did everything necessary to set up connection..and still can see any change to play files from phone on PC..still just having only phone player on menu...no windows one..I thing, there is an issue with 64bit vista..

Try this. If it still isn't working, maybe you can try to disable the firewall / antivirus just to check if that's the problem (don't forget to turn them back on ).
