blackstone audio manager - XPERIA X1 General

Ok,
I installed the blackstone audio manager cab and was able to locate the file in the windows directory. However, the program will not open no matter what I do. I am using the UK rom, so I don't know if I need to change the # by the mui or something. I do not have touch3d or manilla installed (nor do I want to). Any suggestions on how to get this to work?
THanks

Good regedit for PocketPC WM2003SE

Anyone can suggest a good regedit for PocketPC WM2003SE?
I try PHMRegEdit, but looks like it is for old version of PocketPC.
Thanks

Registry Editor
Resco Registry from Resco Explorer, last version 5.13, but actually i still like PHM.
I can't even get PHM Regedit to install on my Qtek S100. Looks ok when I run the installer, but nothing is ever actually installed.
As it is still my favourite I have tried a number of times, with hardresets between, but no success.
I believe PHM registry editor is what we called here a "green" software, i.e. you can just copy and paste the exe file anywhere you like and execute it and it will work. So if you have exe file (e.g. from a former installation, a backup or another ppc), you don't need to install it.
Tried again by getting the CAB file instead of the desktop installer. Worked like a charm!
bamse,
Where you put or run the .cab file?
Thanks.
Arto
nowhere in particular : a .cab file ca normally be executed from anywhere...
Are you using cabinstall ? Because sometimes it conflicts with some .cab files. It doesn't work for instance with the icon .cab file of Agenda Fusion : when you click on this cab file, nothing happens... but it's the only .cab file that doesn't work for me...
Hope this helps...
Just copy the cab file to anywhere on your device. Then on the device, open up explorer and browse to the location of the cab. Double clicking on the cab will install it.

After this you don't need the cab on your device anymore so if it has not been automatically removed you can just delete it.
If it has not been automatically removed it means :
- that you're using CabInstall (because miscrosoft standard installer deletes tha .cab file once installed !)
- or that nothing has been installed because of an error

Tried it when I couldn't get PHM Regedit to install but didn't like it. With TRE you can't even search through the registry, right?

midlet manager for qtek s100

Hi all,
I have installed a wrong version of a midlet manager on my s100 and id doesn't work. Where i can find the original midlet manager? I have seen in the ftp site but i can't find it. Can anyone post a link where it is?
Look in the extended_rom
there is the correct version.
If you dont see it, use total commander, let you show all files, in windows there is a loadvdisk.exe and .lnk. Use anyone of this file, and you should see the extended_rom.
In that directory is a file called like ...taojava...
Should work, i hope

Cooking UC/Comm Manager

Hi all. I am trying to learn the finer points of cooking a rom. I havent been able to cook a new version of Comm Manager into any rom, because when I run BuildOS, it finds a duplicate copy, even though I have searched and searched, and still cannot find it. Same goes for Config_PT. I need to edit config_pt to add UC to the rom. Does anyone know how to do either of these

I'm not sure what phone you are trying to cook for but Comm Manager stuff is located in the OEM folder under OEMAPPS on my phone. You need to remove the comm manager files and delete the .rgu reg keys related to it.
I am trying to cook into a Touch, using the no2chem base 107 rom. Everytime i try to run buildos when cooking in a comm manager, it says it finds a duplicate of commmanager.exe. This file, however, does not exist anywhere in my oems or sys folders. Same goes for config_pt.txt. Any idea where else to check?
OK, so I just did a check, and the file might be being created by a dsm in oem\operatorPKG_PT. How can I change this file to not create this file

I just checked the basekit No2Chem made for the Vogue. CommManager.exe is located in the OEM/OEMAPPS folder. There are a total of 5 files you need to remove from that folder to get rid of commmanger completly.
Alright, I found the issue. THe files werent showing up in a search because hide protected system files in the folder options of XP was checked. Ive been trying to find these files for 3 days, now I know. Thanks for the help

AudioBooster WVGA
Here is the proper Reg file for Audiobooster. The one in the zip file above will not work.
I always wondered what's the purpose of Audio Booster. From the description i read, it seems to boost audio only when recording. Not during normal phone calls or playing music etc. Am i right or I am misinformed?

Works fine on both
It would not run on my Tmo Win 6.1. The executable did nothing when I tried to run it.

Install this cab first, then copy the files I posted to /Windows overwriting the existing files. Also import the reg file I posted. If the cab file does not install, then you need to manually delete all the Audio booster files (all 22 of them) in /windows first.
CAB?
is there any chance you have winCE Cab Manager and you can edit the diamond cab? I dont have my laptop with me so I cant build a cab out of your post..
The main issue is that in case someone makes a mistake, they cant uninstall or revert what they have done without a hard reset. (makes testing impossible for me)
thanks for the work youve done on this... If you havent compiled a cab in a week Ill do it once I get home.

Ok. I am running into some problems creating the cab with WinCeCab manager. I added the regular files to be installed into windows. How do I add the xml files? There are 2 option to add either a pre or post-provisional xml file, but when I try to add them I get an error message.

with WINCE cab manager you dont need xml files. you just add the files and shortcuts and then the reg entries. same as cooking an extended package. the trick to modifying a cab though, is that you add the new files overwriting the old.
Thanks for the cab I will try it right now.
EDIT: is there a way to add a shorcut for the context menu in the audio manager tab? or should I have installed it with manila disabled?

Downloading Apps

Hi all
Had my HTC HD2 for a couple a weeks now and have had a few teething problems with setting up my texting and emailing...anyway all is sorted now and im looking to customise my phone. However, i am a COMPLETE NOVICE when it comes to phones/computers.
Can anyone give me an idiots step by step guide to installing apps on my phone please?
Many Thanks
Ben
Well, do you need any help with particular application?
Because, in short example, you just need to download .exe or .cab, copy it to microsd, and run it with file explorer.
I suggest you to try BsB Tweaks, just write it into search option and try first result, there are few good tweaks to begin with...
Ben- programs are installed in 2 ways as Bence suggested- via CAB files and via EXE files.
The difference is that EXE files almost always have to be run on a PC while the phone is connected via Activesync (doesn't need a full partnership, just connected) but CAB files are executed on the phone itself.
Decide which programs you actually want, and search for them either in Marketplace (included on the phone and which does all the work for you, but is severely limited in choice) or via webshops like Handango or Pocketgear. Most are available as trial versions which you download and install yourself. The majority of programs from these shops are EXE files so are installed via the PC.
Many of the program developers have their own download links and most have a CAB file option as well. Download the CAB file to your phone using the phones own browser, or via the PC, then use Explorer to copy it to the phone. Then open File Explorer on the phone, locate the file and just tap it to install.
