Perpetual is a simple image zooming demo.
You can zoom on any of the 200 images, and the pixels will turn into other images to zoom, perpetually.
What is it for ?
Nothing ! It's just a proof of concept and a demo I made...
If you have any images to submit to add into the demo, feel free to post in the forum and we'll update as soon as possible ! I'm looking for images that have nice colors and an overall dominant one (that'll be used for the color detection) Thanks for helping support this useless project !

Thanks for the feedback, suggestions, and images !
Fascinating software - it works perfectly in portrait, its a bit slow and landscape, and it doesn't handle the change from portrait to landscape well.
Thanks for making my Kaiser much cooler however.
Any way the process could be automated, to make it into a semi-interactive screensaver?
Surur
Well, technically, it's automated on my PC (there's no way to add all the needed data for the colors of the 200 images alone ^^) : I just have a folder with the images, launch my .Net app, and it scans through all the images, sorts by color, and outputs both miniature views (to avoid overloading the memory) and a huge array with the number of the image to use for every 16bit color ^^
It takes a while to run on my PC, so it's unlikely to work on in realtime, would have way too much loading time. I have just thought of an alternative method to build the color array, it could work much faster, but would only be available for real-time if you have only a few images... and if you don't have many images, well... It won't work to well ^^ You need to have at least 50 or 100 photos, ranging in pretty much all the possible colors (my PC app outputs which colors are overpopulated and which aren't populated enough, to know which images to remove and what colors to search for) ^^
While it would be cool to use my own pictures, it would be nice to see it zoom through the stock images without me having to touch the screen with the stylus too, independently.
Surur
Well, this is a first release, I just wanted to have a quick proof of concept and that's it ^^
The future stuff that could be added :
- "Surface" button (to move back up)
- Auto button (could be nice to for lazy people ^^)
Anything else ?
A zooming back feature would be cool

Would that be for the skin-tone pictures ?
Surur
yeah
Btw there should be alot more pictures kind of ^^
This looks really cool I will have to try this on my Hermes. Does it work for VGA and Qvga?
*Edit* Only Qvga any plans for VGA? *Edit*

Well, it should work on VGA, just that it's upscaled. I tested on emulator and the performance was good.
In theory, a 100% VGA version could be done. But the program is already 5MB, uses a lot of ram for all the images, and a full VGA version would just use 4 times more ram :s

Feel free to post some images (or send them by mail/PM) and I'll add them ^^
*Edit*
Ok here are some random Pictures i found and had on ma system! I extra made them 240x240 so you dont have any work rescaling them
Btw i would like if the "zooming" effect could be more smoother and slower if its possible...
Hope you like ma pics!
Regards
Thanks, let me check that out.
As for zooming, the speed can be changed, not a problem I didn't actually test on hardware, just on emulator, so it might not be optimal yet...
TODO list (note to myself) :
- Auto-zoom
- Back button
- Speed button
edit : hey, nice set of pics I'll definately include most of them in the next release (either as additional pictures or as a remplacement. like flickr-color-picker.jpg which will be perfect to replace a sort of crappy image I had in the same style ^^) Thanks !
edit2 :
Better not or are you willing to made a "special" adult version ?
Click to collapse
Could be fun if you know where to find nice pics (IE, with nice and different colors, won't be as simple)
edit3 (last one, I promise !) :
Still looking for a good theme for the icon and the viewer, if anyone has an idea, please share !
I found few random pics... hope you can use them
Yay, those are awesome !
I'm currently finishing a set of 50 sexy photos, then I'll see if it works good enough with those
Cool and amazing app! Works perfectly on WM2003! Keep working
I think that you should make other app like that: http://www.mazaika.com/mazdownload.html for ppc (WM 2003 support for sure! ).
Nice work!
Thanks for the link. That one seems nice too, but the images are in 64x64, whereas I use nice and big 240x240 images ^^ I'm thinking of modifying my PC .Net exe and redistributing it... It could produce a file like myimages.prp which would contain all the data needed, and could be copied on the PPC to open it...
As for SexyPerpetual, tested, it works pretty well ! The images aren't the best as I used the first image pack I could download on bittorrent. Not sure what the forum policy is for the kind of stuff, so I will not post a link to download it. Just send over a quick PM requesting the link and I'll answer back
As for the video, if you want to take a look, here the link for the normal version's video : http://www.palib.info/blog/flvplayer.swf?file=http://www.xflib.net/Games/Perpetual/Perpetual.flv
Just keep replace the name by the sexy version's name and you should be able to view it (if the admins don't want this posted, please just tell me and I'll remove it !)
yes it woudl be cool if you can provide a tool that we can use to compile "our" versions with our pictures. it would be simpler than having to make special requests to you and sending many pics ?
but also if you really want pics, perhaps we can all send some to you ? public ftp or classic sharing sites like rapidshare ?
SexyPerpetual is very nice But insert "more naked photos" xD
BTW: I like kaiser47s idea
Kaiser47, feel free to use any method to send of photos
Yeah, I know, the sexy version misses a few naked photos ^^ But I just took a pack found on bittorrent, and used the ones with the most colors (because if I use only naked women on a white background, the transitions will be crappy, so I needed to have blue, red, etc....). If you have a pack with nice naked photos, I'll add them to the pack
I'm currently modifying the PC part of the code to generate a special file which could be distributed and read by the PPC app, that way anyone can do an image pack
Cool idea
I do not have ones so I will w8 for new versions xD
This is mainly for Flash Developers:
"myFlashPanel.cab" installs an additional "demo"-panel based on flashlite3.1.
after installation you can simply replace the panel (/Program Files/Panels/myFlashPanel/myFlashPanel.swf) with your own .swf.
ToDo:
- Install "Flash Lite 3.1"
ActiveX_Deployment_signed.CAB
- Install "Growing Panel"
FlashPanelGrowingPanelInstall-0.1.15.0_signed.CAB
- Install myFlashPanel.cab
(attached below)
note1: you dont have to use the "GrowingPanel" but it must be installed
note2: the "GrowingPanel" installer does not work correctly on non-english devices. if you own a non-english device you have to edit the registry keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/SonyEriccson/PanelManager/Panels/GrowingPanel/
to match the location of your "program files" folder.
additionally you can use my (very basic) myFlashPanel.fla template to start your own panel-development. it provides some lines of code to handle the screen-orientation.
have fun,
- QuadWord
p.s.: i am currently working on a new SWFLoaderPanel to provide non-developers with a solution to simply load any .swf they want (via menue). i hope it will be ready soon.
Thanks to Itje for providig the original R3 .cabs for "GrowingPanel" and FlashLite Deployment
hi,
whats the best software to open or run a .fla file
thanks
".fla" is a project file for flash.
you can open it with the authoring tool "adobe flash cs3" (or cs4).

True 3D Panel
Nice work, I am always looking for new ways of showing 3D animations on my X1, and now you given us the ability to show 3D Flash Files
Here is my first True 3D Flash ' Panel', it is True 3D slide show, 3D Glasses required.
I have a few questions, my X1 does not seem to want to play Flash Files that are bigger than 2mb in size, it comes up with an error " out of memory ", is there any way to fix this, or is this a limitation of the X1 ? I notice the Growing Panel Flash is also less than 2 mb.
Also how do I set the background colour for the flash panel, I would like it to be black as it is better for 3D images ?
Here are some screen shots of my 3D Panel Slide Show, they look better on the X1 than they do in screen shots. With 3D Glasses on the images both stick out from the screen and go into the screen about an inch. The further you are away from your X1 the greater the 3D Depth.
Once you have see this 3D imaging on the X1, I hope you will see why I think True 3D is the future of imaging, as stereo was to mono.
Here is the 3D Flash File in a zip named as ' myFlashPanel ', copied to the location as you described in your first post.
Once again thanks allot for this innovation

i dont have 3d glasses
thanks for the reply regarding the software to open .fla files
got adobe flash cs3 and want to add a flash game, what do i do?
do i delete the frames already there?
i'm finishing up a program that will automatically split an image into the chunks necessary for Manilla 3d for blackstone.
If there is enough interest i'll make it public
err... need to move this to the applications forum. posted under general. oops.
Brilliant idea. Release it!
Sounds great! I would definitely use it!
You got my vote man! This would be cool.
thumb up on that
u have my vote as well...read through how to make wallpaper look good.....but to be completely honest it's a mission....for maniacs....so ur tool would bring that ability to have nice background to everyone
keep up ur work
Will this program make backgrounds at hi quality??? ---> something like here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=500178
Anyways I vote for it!!!
Great work! I too am curious if the image is high quality as discussed in the post above me. I believe the member Chainfire was working on a gui to do the same thing and resulting in High quality backgrounds. Also, after using your program, is there a line in portrait where the two portrait images meet or does it align perfect?
this will make the portrait and landscape PNG chunks at high quality so that you can load any image into it. This program will take care of the resizing/scaling/tiling. You'll still have to use something like CFC GUI (just copy the 4 png files and follow the steps in that thread) if someone can provide me with the compression algorithm used by manilla i can implement it to cut that step out so that you can go straight to the manilla folder

Sweeeeet!!!!!! ----> I want that app!!!!
released
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505995
Is there an app or a service menu on X1 where I can test all the hardware aspects of X1?
Thanks.
There is fieldtest.exe in Windows directory which will give you some information regarding Network, I think. That's it.
HTC Functions Test
Here is the HTC Function Test which I think is used by HTC Engineers to test the funtions of there phones. There is no intallation just click on The Function Test EXE in the folder. There is also an HTC GPS Function test, very detailed.
View attachment 181057
Just download the attached zip file, unzip, copy to your X1 and click on the test to run. Dont tick the clear storage test or it will do a hard resest of your X1, this is probably the last test the HTC engineers do when they test there phones.
If you did search, the above tool was posted by me 6 months ago.

Looking for some to create a simple widget/app that will display headlines and once a headline is clicked, will display the article. The headlines are from the following site, the wiretap headlines:
http://www.realgm.com/boards/viewforum.php?f=79
If anyone would like to help that would be much appreciated. PM me or reply to this post.
Fuze running an EnergyROM 6.5
Hi geedubyabee,
Attached is a simple app that I think does what you want. I have not cabbed it for now. Unzip the file in your pc and you will get an exe file, you simply need to copy the exe file to your mobile and tap it from your mobile to open it.
.Net3.5 is the minimum requirement.
Btw, if you are able to open the app from your mobile, you will see that both pages open in one as I have not cared of styles instead I have simply rendered the contents only.
Enjoy
Thanks pkshr. This should do just fine. Only issue I had was the lack of finger scrolling and the links didn't show the article. But sometimes the headlines are enough. Thanks again.
i haven't tried it but you can take a look at this: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=4161
