change media panel viewing directory - XPERIA X1 General

it seems like the media panel is grabbing all my pictures and videos regardless of where they are located. Is it possible to have the media panel only look for media in whatever specific directory I specify (pictures only in the storage card\My Pictures, music in the my Music directory, etc)?
Thanks

Been wondering that but not found a way, I now have a load of arrows from Wayfinder in with my pictures...

WMP Album Art

Hi,
I've been searching on this forum and on other places on the NET and can't find anything on how to show Album covers when listening to music using WMP on PPC.
I read in several reviews that WMP 10 features the ability to show Album art, but so far i didn't get this to work....
Does anyone know?
The easiest way is just to copy the album art (.jpg format) into the same directory as the album and rename it to 'folder.jpg' (renaming it may not be necessary, it's just what I do). Now when you open that album the artwork will be displayed (assuming you are using a media player skin that allows for artwork, the standard WMP10 skin is fine).
When you encode a CD on your desktop PC using media player it automatically downloads and stores the artwork in the same directory as the encoded files. If you just copy the whole directory to your PPC it will work fine. If for some reason it wont download the artwork you can go to www.cdnow.com, search for the album, and get the artwork from there.

tf3d album art

im having trouble with album arts in tf3d. i have assigned a jpeg pic to each mp3 files i have through mp3tag, but in the phone it only displays the 1st mp3 image to all the rest of tracks.
i have searched around the forums, but i can only find fixes to having 1 picture for each album folder but all my mp3s are individuals and in the same folder (storage card/music)
no fix for this?
Use MP3Tag to properly apply the MP3 metadata to your tracks.
http://www.mp3tag.de/en/
Each image should then be 'embedded' for each track and will show
i did use that, i mentioned it in 1st post. in the media panel player it shows properly but in the tf3d music player it doesnt. (cant scroll animation)
audiomanager uses folders, you need to organise into artist/album subfolders
here's a walkthrough to doing it with mp3tag

ok thanks..
Real easy way to do is sync it through windows media, set your X1 to act as external storage and not activesync.
And of course MP3Tag for the albumart.

Music Folder on MT3G

Just curious, is there a certain folder I need to place my music files in to play on my player? Everytime I go to music, it grabs all the files from notifications and my ringtones folders!! Is there a easier way to play my music?
Regarding Music...
Can anyone help me out??
Personally I don't use the stock music player for that very reason. Check out an app from the marketplace callled MixZing Lite (it's free.) It has the ability to monitor a specific folder for music and also comes with a pretty slick widget.
You can created a blank file called .nomedia (notice the dot at the front) in your ringtones folder which will stop the Media service (Gallery and Music) from searching in there for files. I have not tested if this will break ringtone searching, so give it a go and just delete your new .nomedia file if all your stuff disappears from ringtones.
You also may be interested to know if you call your album covers AlbumArt.jpg then they will appear in music player when a song from that album is playing, but Gallery will not index them and take a thousand years to load cos of all the covers called different names in different folders.

gallerie issues

the gallery display ALL media from the card, including album artwork, whatever pictures and icons games installed uses, etc.. i would like to see only my pictures taken with the camera (and videos) but i can't find a setting or another gallery doing that, wtf?
Same question with the audio player in fact!
There are some solutions:
Create a file called .nomedia
Put this file in each folder with content you don't need in your gallery/ audio player etc. This will hide the whole folder's content! Use this way for applications or games that create media files (images, audio files).
To hide album artwork from the gallery you can either
- rename the album art files to albumart.jpg - Android will exclude these files from the gallery
- rename the album art file and put a dot as first character (like .myalbumname.jpg)
- include the album art into the ID3 tags and deleta all album art files.

question about putting music in the phone

where in the sdcard can I put the music I have in my pc so it shows correctly in the player in the phone?
Create a folder named music.
Actually, music can be wherever you want it to be, in whatever folder you want. There's a media scanner process that runs every so often that scans your SD card and finds music files wherever they may be. Typically the stock media player can see all media files found by the scanner, but if you're using a third-party player, it might only look certain places for the files.
Off the top of my head, Meridian lets you choose which folders it will look in for media files, whereas doubleTwist appears to be hard-set to only look in certain locations for media files, such as Music and Videos (it seems to ignore any audio files I have in my notifications and alarms folders).
If in doubt, then yeah, just put your music files in a folder called Music.
