Hi people,
does anybody know how to use the QVGA camera without making a 3G phone call?
i think its a waste if i dont know how to use it since not many htc pda has QVGA camera.
i sometimes use a VGA camera on my other phone as a mirror so that i can see my face on it

Get a hold of the coolcamera software from ateksoft and you can use the camera inc. such things as web cam etc. (Not a free application though)

ya i got the trial version of the software. unfortunately it still doesnt make use of the vga camera =(

Since Ateksoft split up the coolcamera software from one\application to 3 or 4 it may be that you need the webcamera app.
There are loads of threads on this if you use the Google search sticky and put in- TyTn front camera coolcamera, you'll find them.
By the way you have to enter the menus to tell it to use the front cam.

Is there a way to change the htc camera software sharpness setting ?
I found the resulting JPEG is over sharphen , if I can turn it down a liitle the result will be better.

The only alternative camera software I ever knew is Ateksoft CoolCamera.
Unfortunely it doesnt work on the dual...
Its really very good, I used it for years on my S100/S110.
l have a HTC blackstone , the problem is that zoom control +/- in the camera doesn t appear on the screen and it doesnt matter which resolution l am using

Are you using a custom ROM, some of them use a newer camera which doesn't zoom.
that should be no problem at all.
Its only a digital zoom not an optical one. So just take the picture and zoom or edit it to your preferences...the quality is still the same...

my ROM version is Dutty s HD V2.5 Xtreme, l should be able to zoom the object before taking pic, isn t it?
no duttys newer roms dont have zoom but like prevouslt mntoned its not that mportant
hi all. i have dutty's r9 installed in my blackstone, which is a great rom btw, but i didn't like to lose the zoom in the upgraded camera, so i reinstalled the original hd camera app.
zoom came back and camera seems to be working fine, but now the shots that i take are not being saved in landscape mode anymore. i tried two different cabs of the original camera and this is happening in both of them. any ideas of how to fix it?

The difference between 6.28 and 6.15 is to autofocus.
In 6.28 comes into operation when you do the photo, while the 6.15 is "continuous" so the shot is faster and pictures less moves
this is my experience
yeah ive found the same, with the later camera it takes ages to focus, you end up trying to stay still for what seems like forever!
Did the cab work ok? If so i'll install it too.

You right man, I tried 6.15 instead of 6.28 and it's faster, AF looks really better.

Camera issue on af
Hi users of Touch HD, I've recently acquired a Touch HD and was very pleased with it. However, I got an issue with the camera.
To those parents out there who like to take candid photos of our children would understand what I meant. I try to take photo of my 2 year old daughter who is always playing around. When I press the only button, it will take a while to focus then "snap". By the time it "snap", it's not the picture that I wanted. Anyone has this issue or any ways to counter this problem? I know dedicated camera would not have this issue as the button would have 2 actions " focus" then "snap". Hope to hear from the pros here.

i have a stock ROM with 6.6 camera, i am now going to try the 6.15 in this topic, but i would also like to try the 6.28, can someone by any chance post a cab with the 6.28 camera?
i have another question, with the 6.6 camera the autofocus only works after i press the shot button, and in other rom i had the camera made the autofocus before pressing the shot button. how does the 6.15 work, and the 6.28?

When I used wm6.1, I was able to zoom on a picture by making a circle on the screen.
Now I have the wm6.5 energyrom and I would want to be able to zoom again but I have no idea what version it used to be and where to get it.
