Could someone please help me find the 8525 ringtones? - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Recently, I upgraded from the standard Cingular 8525 WM5 OS to Black Satin, then to Schap's WM6.
Unfortunately, I finally got around to changing my ringtone only to discover that they never made it into Schap's WM6 (my stupidity for not checking beforehand).
I was hoping someone could provide a link to where I could download the original ringtones present in Cingular's WM5? Or perhaps at least the ringtone of Mozart's Die Zauberflote (The Magic Flute)? I love that ringtone, but I can't seem to find it anywhere on Google. There was a thread about this previously, but unfortunately, it's been archived, and I can no longer access the download link.
If neither could be provided, could anyone at least provide me the name of the track which the ringtone is based off of?
Thank you.

A few problems with an Italian 9100. Can anyone help?

Hello,
I'm a fairly new user of a Qtek 9100 device (see signature) and I am experiencing a few minor problems. I have searched the board already, but I didn't find any solution. Can anybody help with the following?
1) With some contacts, tapping "Send SMS" brings up a form with a blank receiving number field. This seems to be a Contacts-only problem, as Agenda Fusion works SMS addressing correctly.
2) I know this has been done to death elsewhere (eg. Solopalmari website), but I can't get MMS to work at all, even following step by step the tutorials. Is there any chance of an inherent technical glitch?
3) I just don't believe that you can't set BOTH ringtone AND vibracall up together. What am I missing here?
4) This is the obligatory question about upgrading the OS/ROM. I'm not a tweaking fanatic, but I hear wonders about the newer roms. Does anybody know what the plans are for updated ITA ROMs?
5) This is for fellow Italian posters: where can I find a reliable guide to WIFI and other connectivity providers in Italy? I just can't get around the whole mess of outdoor websurfing (especially being on a tight budget).
Thank you for your patience with this newbie... your help will be greatly appreciated!
3. Start - Settings - phone - type(pull down) Vivration & ring
Sorry about the others, don't know
Thanks, gepol! I can't believe I missed that...
I still wonder why they didn't put an option in the popup volume thingy, however...

WM6 on HTC Hermes: post rumor links here.

Figured I would start the thread. I know that at this point everyone still has no idea but I figured I would start a thread where people can post links to rumors as to whether HTC will have a WM6 rom for our favorite PPC.
WM6? How about a WM5 bug fix release?
Much as we'd all like to have WM6 on our Hermes devices, we can't even get an official WM5 bug fix release out of HTC. The last rumour was that we'd see one that would fix "all known bugs" by the end of January, it is now almost March!
I don't know about anyone else, but my patience is wearing very thin. It would be nice if someone in HTC would just say a date and stick to it, rather than the pre-canned responses that some people get.

on10.net, WM6 on 8525
http://on10.net/Blogs/laura/windows-mobile-6-is-here/
this video post suggests that the 8525 will have WM6 running on it.
I actually saw it on an 8525 recently. at a microsoft event.
That's pretty exiting!!!
It seems pretty certain that Windows Mobile 6 will be available on the HTC Hermes/Tytan.
WM6 on Cingular 85225 - Help!
Doh!
I loaded WM6 on my Phone and now, I'm missing my keyboard settings (When I hit the _ key, I get a ?, so I guess I need HTC Hermes specific 'drivers'? Can anyone point me in the right direction on this?
I can't make a GPRS/EDGE connection, but I can make phone calls....no Wifi Drivers eitiher....
I found some cab files in the extended_rom, but still no GPRS....if someone knows the settings or a link to the settings, I would be ever so grateful.
Good news
On several forums there is the same question. When do we get an update.
I have a TyTN and live in Holland. I bought my TyTN straight out of the shop.
So I called the helpdesk and asked them when I could suspect an upgrade. The helpdesk told me that the tech-department in Taiwan was working on AKU3 and they would be finished at the end of March.
So... We have to wait a littlemore............. I hope in Taiwan a day is also 24h :-D

At least you got a response tembares, they totally ignored my questions! All I can say is, someone else posted here some time ago that they asked the same question, and the answer then was that AKU3 would be available at the end of January. And there were some test versions that came out at around that time, and they didn't fix all of the major issues that I have (in fact, very few). The new versions also created some new issues that I didn't have in the AKU2.3 version, one being a showstopper for me (cannot sync handheld with two computers). So I don't have very much faith or confidence in either the timeline or HTC's ability to fix the identified issues!
But all I can do is be patient, I don't have any other options I guess (except to start looking for another phone...)

There is a cab file in the Cingular extended ROM that you need to get. Copy it prior to loading up WM6, or I think there might be a link in the WM6 thread.
It would appear that the Cingular keyboard is layed out differently from the standart TYTN keyboard, and this cab file makes the necessary registry edits to make the keyboard behave like it's supposed to.

Vanilla WM5 Rom?

Does anyone know whether its possible to download a standard vanilla WM5 ROM to stick on my Universal?
Currently I have a T-Mobile ROM on it but I'm running into difficulties setting up GPRS and MMS on it. I had a quick word with someone at Carphone Warehouse on the off chance that he might know the solution and he told me (how accurately I don't know) that even if I have managed to unlock it (done, thanks to Buzz's wonderful little tool) putting the GPRS/MMS settings into it will be hard because of all the extra crap that T-Mobile install onto the thing.
So I guess the question I am asking really is do I need a vanilla WM5 Rom or do I need to dig into the registry to clean out the rubbish T-Mobile left in there? Or does the solution to my problem lie in a completely different direction?
Cheers,
Alan
I can give you I-mate's vanilla ROM (by Jwrightcmp). Click the link on my sig.
Fantastic, thanks very much for that!
*wanders off to the wiki to make sure he has the steps for updating right*
I'll let you know how it goes (might be a couple of days though)
Thanks,
Alan

After upgrading to WM6 the ringtone volume is too low

Hi,
Under 2003SE the ringtone was loud enough for me.
After installing WM6, the ringtone, when setup for the loudest possible, is still barely hearable.
Is there any fix for it?
Thanks,
vma
You might wanna check the forum first before you post several requests for this already, believe the best answer is put in

Greetings...
Thanks for the link.
I did obviously do a search, however I thought it was a BA/WM6 specific problem, so I did not search the other sections.
Will try this out this evening.
Cheers,
vma
EDIT: I read all 20 pages, but did not get a valid clue, which registry setting to change in order to increase the ring tone on a BA. Also, I don't seem to be the only victim of this annoyance.
Why do some people have this issues, while others don't? Flashing the complete WM6 ROM should reset everything - right?

[Q]Remove Number in taskbar

There's a number (1) in my taskbar, and i don't like it there
I suspect it's the line the phone uses, but where do I disable it?
It would make a lot of people a little happier if someone found a solution for this.
It's actually a "feature" that comes from your SIM card. If you don't find an easy hack, you can try to ask your operator if they can provide you with a less feature-rich one.
Ok, but how come it didn't shown on my previous phone (Qtek S200, I know, piece of history that is )?
hi, does anyone have found an answer for this? 'cuz i changed my provider and since then i got that number in my taskbar!
so, if anyoe has a solution, could u please share it?
thx!
