If you are one of those Qtek users who never settle for what they have and you want to experiment with cooking some new ROMs made to your individual needs, here's how you can do it.
- First, you need to always download the ROM in an EXE format. You then right click on the downloaded file and you choose to extract files in a specified folder
- Second, you will need to install XDAtools on you PC. After you've done so, run the application.
- A window with a 'source' field' and a 'destination' field will appear. In the 'source' field hit the browser button and pick up the nbf file you had previously extracted from the EXE ROM file. The file is named NK.NBF.
- Click on 'copy' and wait till is finished. You won't be able to verify that the file has been written on your card as the card is not readable.
- Slide the card in the Qtek and press the power button whilst simultaneously you do a soft reset.
- Let the files copy and do NOTHING untill the process is completed.
- Do a battery reset and wait for 60secs before you switch it on again.
Note1: Make sure you don't run out of power. Your battery must be fully charged.
Note2: If you're cooking your ROM in Lumpi Stefan's kichen have in mind that the ROM version 4.01.00 is a T-Mobile edition and it'll cause you various problems with ActiveSync. For a start you won't be able to upgrade to another ROM through your PC. You'll have to do it through an SD. Also the ROM edition 4.00.21 is in German.
Good Luck!

Hey swampy how you been?
I tried yesterday your recook kitchen... new upgrade version 1.2... but I have an issue after the step when you can mod the initflashfiles... and use that third party app... I cant remember the name the app that coverts unicode - ansi you know...
The kitchen freeze after that I choose save and then close the app hit enter to continue and nothing happens but something change on my system... my multimedia files like video avi wmv (flv is good); music mp3 and wma; TXT and reg files seems to loose its asociation to the respective players and programs... cause when I click twice over any of them... the IE7 launch itself and launching again many many windows and the task manager cant handle it to close them... I cant figured out how to fix this and why this happens so...
I ask you if you have an answer...
Do I need to format my PC?
Im uploading an example of how my machine sees in youtube but is uploading... wait for the uploading process.
thanks men

file asociation on ppc or PC? the kitchen will not change things on it's own only you change thing useing the kitchen so I can't say but if some thing in the kitchen has got corrupted The best thing to do is start again run bat file select 1) then 1) in next menu clean, then run 1) again and past your nk.nbf and so on
YEP!!!
On my PC... even if I choose "open with..." then select windows media player... then "Always use this progran for this kind of file" then open... it opens the IE7 and goes crazy the video file uploading is so slow... what da... jejej i will edit add the link this can helps to understands it... yes I restart the kitchen and guess what it can't open now the HKCU.reg in the step user.hv and closes by itself... i think cause the asociation gets corrupt the kitchen cant do it... and yes i have install the reg workshop as you said...
Hope it works fine next time... I hate... format my PC cause i need to backup in DVD my data...

Sorry mate don't know what could have hapened to your pc but the kitchen only works on ppc rom's the batch file can only access the folder's below it, IE: inside the kitchen folder that the bat file was launched in, so i doubt it was the kitchen that caused your problem, But my son had some problems with IE7 and found all was OK after uninstalling it so before you go formating your pc insert your windows disk and choose repair
Hi Guys,
Need a little help.
I flashed my Diamond, and I'm just restoring my software and I can't remember how I done it before but I had PS shutxp set-up and mapped to the power button when held down.
I tried searching but I can't find the thread that I used to do this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated =)
Thanks,
Steve.

1. Save and zip the file called “PowerOffWarning.exe” from the windows directory
2. Go to the directory that has your psshutxp executable in it and rename the psshutxp.exe to PowerOffWarning.exe.
3. Zip the new “PowerOffWarning.exe” and skin files into a zip file.
4. Execute the zip file and overwrite the “PowerOffWarning.exe” file in the windows directory.
5. Press and hold your power button and enjoy your new shutdown/reset/screen off options.
Do it on your own risk, j havent test it, and it come from Mogu's forum..
Thanks Guys!

Hi - I'm using this cab in lieu of the normal psShutXP.cab and am pleased to see that this actually powers the device off properly as opposed to sleeping.
Being very picky on the cosmetics (!), I noticed the latest psShutXP.cab fades down the background when the window launches - as per desktop XP/Vista etc - yet this version here doesn't. Perhaps an edit of an older version?
I'll take functionality over cosmetics any day.. however both would be just perfect!!
Any ideas guys?

I installed this cab file called poweroff-diamond.cab from andrewloh, which is basically ShutXP, but once it's installed, it automatically mapped to the long-press power button.
just install the standard psshutxp and use advanced config tool to map it to long press power key
hi guys
how can I mapping on/off button with advanced config?
Here is onother that works with Power Button
ShutXP in the Start Menu
Is there any possibility or option to have this programme (shutxp) in the start menu, instead of pressing long the power button, for powering off the diamond?

You can accomplish that by installing one of the official cab files for psShutXP that I have attached below.
And of course, you can simply go to Settings > Personal > Menu to add it to your list of frequent applications in the start menu.
NOTE: This version doesn't include a custom skin, it uses the default WinXP skin.

Thank you for your reply, cerebralgenius.
The point is that I've already looked to the settings you mention but I don't have map this programme for selecting it. I have it installed together with a ROM pack so I can not select it to view it on the start menu.
I will try the new cab you posted.
Thanks
FIRST OF ALL I'M NOT RESPONSABLE OF ANY KIND OF DAMAGE OCCURRED DURING THIS PROCEDURE.
DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Ok, go on now
This guide assumes that you have already dumped your original ROM.
For how to dump your ROM, follow [email protected]'s wiki until obtain imgfs_raw_data.bin
What we need:
Official Pharos WWE ROM
tadzio tool (by tadzio)
XIPPORT tool (by bepe)
bPatch (by suracha)
HTC rom tool (by Dark Simpson) with pharos settings added by me
ROM update utility
I suggest you to create a folder for each tool (eg. C:\tadzio C:\XIPPORT C:\HTCRomTool C:\RomUpdate)
and unzip the tools in the respective folders. bPatch.exe is inside tadzio tool.
Download the official rom, right clic on "RUU_Pharos_HTC_WWE-ME_1.11.456.1_4.1.13.59_03.15.90_BLUE_Ship.exe", select "Open with WinRar" and extract RUU_Signed.nbh in "C:\tadzio"
Open a command prompt, go in "C:\tadzio" and type this command:
Code:
C:\tadzio>nbhextract ruu_signed.nbh
this tool extract the content of the .nbh file, if its all ok you should have these files now:
Code:
00_GSM.nb
01_IPL.nb
02_SPL.nb
03_MainSplash.bmp
03_MainSplash.nb
04_OS.nb
Copy 02_SPL.nb and 03_MainSplash.nb to C:\HTCRomTool and 04_OS.nb to C:\XIPPORT
ok, now we have official SPL and MainSplash ready to use but we need the OS too
To obtain exactly the original OS we need to modify some registry keys inside "boot.hv" according to our language.
This file is located in the XIP section, so we should extract the xip files from 04_OS.nb, modify boot.hv and re-inject the xip in the os.
Don't worry, we have another solution because we already have the original xip obtained from dump process ([email protected]'s wiki)
The XIP section is Part01.raw
Copy Part01.raw to C:\XIPPORT and rename it to "xip_out.bin"
Run xipport.exe, change the offset to "00313800", the filename to "04_OS.nb" (see pic01 at the end of post for detail) and press "write xip_out.bin to:"
This tool write the xip section (xip_out.bin) in the OS (04_OS.nb) at the specified address (00313800).
Now we have 04_OS.nb with our original XIP
Rename 04_OS.nb to OS.nb and copy it to C:\tadzio
Copy imgfs_raw_data.bin obtained from dump process to C:\tadzio
Open a command prompt, go in C:\tadzio and type this command:
Code:
C:\tadzio>imgfstonb imgfs_raw_data.bin os.nb os-new.nb -bigstoragemove
This tool recostructs the OS (os-new.nb) from our dumped image (imgfs_raw_data.bin)
Now we need to patch the size of OS-new.nb, to do this type this command:
Code:
C:\tadzio>bPatch.exe -1 0xFF 0x632D000 OS-new.nb
The size of patched file must be 99.1 MB (103,993,344 bytes)
Ok, our OS is ready to use!
Copy OS-new.nb to C:\HTCRomTool and run "htcrt.exe"
This tool creates and signes a .nbh file from a .nb file. I suggest you to create 2 .nbh, one for OS and Spalsh (eg. OS.nbh)
and one for SPL (eg. SPL.nbh).
Select "ROM builder" tab and fill the fields like screenshots at the end of post:
OS.nbh (see pic02 for detail)
SPL.nbh (see pic03 for detail)
Press "Build!", type the filename without extension and press "Save"
Flash OS.nbh first so if something wrong in the image and the device don't boot you'll be able to flash any other ROM; while, if it boots ok, then flash the SPL.nbh.
Copy OS.nbh to C:\RomUpdate, rename it to ruu_signed.nbh, run "ROMUpdateUtility.exe" and follow the instructions
At this point we have flashed OS and Splash, if its all ok and the device boot right, then you can flash SPL
Delete ruu_signed.nbh, copy SPL.nbh to C:\RomUpdate, rename it to ruu_signed.nbh and run "ROMUpdateUtility.exe"
That's all!! Now you have completely restored your device to its original condition.
I've tested this procedure, worked fine for me and i hope for you too
.
.
.
bye all

(posted the tnetw 1251 driver and a file from the extended rom of the artemis... wifinit.exe) but kudos to you for getting a device listed in the pharos (though i looked with task manager i think in a previous rom i flashed and i saw wifi.dll or something loaded at the list of pharos devices)

you need HardSPL to flash a NON official ROM
well, actually I went from a Pharos running Poldo v13 (HardSPL Mobiz) to a completely original english Pharos by simply installing Pharos Official English ROM Version 1.11.707.1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=394721).
Now when I boot, everything is original, even the SPL is the original and not the Mobiz anymore.....

I'm looking for the official french version. Could anyone share it or tell me where i could DL it?

Hi guys
Today I wanted to start porting some Galaxy Tab A apps to my Tab S by myself.
I searched for a Galaxy Tab A dump but there wasn't any...
So I decided to make a dump for myself.
Here are the steps I have done to create a system dump from a Odin firmware package
Let's start!
Things needed:
- Windows PC with...
- java installed
- sgs2toext4.jar downloadable from here
- ext2explore.exe downloadable from here
1) Take your time; download your Odin-Package from "sammobile.com/firmwares"
2) Extract the *.zip file using 7-Zip.
3) Now, extract the "system.img.ext4" in it
4) Open "sgs2toext4.jar"
5) A window called "Drop .img here" will appear
6) Take the "system.img.ext4" and drop it into the window
7) Wait; A new item called "system.img.ext4.img" will appear on your desktop
8) Now, open "ext2explore.exe" as Administrator
9) Click the "File"-tab and then click "open image"
10) Select your "system.img.ext4.img" which should be on your desktop
11) After this is done do a doubleclick on the harddisk icon on the right
