Hello,
I've got an Idea for a little Program. I really like the Auto adjust backlicgt function. Every other solution work as good as the original one, only for my opinion.
But at night I want it to be completely dark, so i have to go throught the menu to toggle the function off and on at morning.
So I would like to have a simple .exe which just toggles the registry value for the auto backlicht function like they already exists for toggling w-lan or bluetooth.
Should be very easy I think, but I can't do it.
Sorry for my english, hope somebody understand what I mean
P.S.: I know that there already exists an .exe to toggle the backlight value, but not the auto adjust fuction, because it was developed for Kaiser.
regards, fRED
See my 4 post! Solved myself Just extract the Folder and Click the .exe or place a shortcut to it
I wrote up a MortScript to toggle the function, dont know if you'd be interested in it. Simply run the script and it will toggle the auto backlight. Hope this helps!

Try Lumos:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=450318
Ciao, Andrea
I don't want to use Lumos or G-Light. Have tried them both and I don't like them very much.
The original adjust function works much more reliable for me. The is just my personal opinion of course.
Your MortScript bfan13 is a good beginning. I just don't like that everything is popping up just wenn you would klick on it.
I've read a little bit about MortScript and you can also easily read/write reg entrys with it.
So all you have to do is to toogle the reg value
"\HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\LightDetectOn" 1 or 0
I try to write such a function today, but if somebody can do it faster then me, just post it here.
fRED
OK, it's done!
Writed it on my own now! It just toggle the right RegValue.
So I helped myself If anyone else want to use it...

Only the Script in this ZIP
Thanks works great for me!!!
Thank you very much BlockbusterF.
I was looking for this exactly.
Works great in my HD.
Hi!
It's an .mscr file. Can someone tell me what to do with it?
Thanks!
Just execute it. But you need to have MortScript installed before.
Just Google it...
okidok
thank you!
Super, just what i was looking for.
Very Nice and convenient. I have mapped it to long press hold button and it is something I have been looking for a long time.
Thanks

Hello,
I have a question. Maybe someone knows on this forum???
Where can I find the keys which change the speaker icon in the taskbar? Next tot the phone signal there is a speaker icon. It changes to vibrate and silence when selected. Which keys in the registry do this? How is this icon changed?
I kow it is possible, because some apps support this, but I can't find how to do!
Thanx for anyones help!
No one knows? Anyone should......
Where is this one switched in the registry? Which value changes???
Hope some can help!
Phone Profiles from JGUI can do.... So someone should know about this...
Help would be really appreciated, then developing can go on!!! With I hope an excellent product for everyone!
what makes you think that those programs use the registry to change icons or what ever it is you are talking about

Sorry, don't get your point exactly! I try to let the icon (volume icon) get changed programmaticaly, like it changes when changing the volume to vibrate or off.
I suspect that it is done bu the registry! Any other ideas? Anyone knows how this is done? Someone should know....
Are you actually wanting to mute the volume aswell ?
Try looking in HKey_Current_user\Control Panel\Volume (don't have a PPC here atm, so can't check)
Otherwise, I would export your registry, change the setting to vibrate manually, then export again. Copy both these to your PC and compare them.. there are many programs that can do this for you to make life easy
well maybe it's a function in the api / sdk / framework of the pocketpc phone edition
whats make you think it's set in the registry?

Well, that was the first thing that came to me. I saw it in the application of JGUI I stated above and though that it should be a registry value. I couldn't think of any SDK / Framework / API, because that would make it almost impossible to implement it like this.
The volume can be muted as well, but for now the muting volume and vibration is done already, but I am still looking for how to change the picture of the volume icon.
Rudegar, do you have any idea then???

The key you gave me indeed changes when setting some different volume settings. But I didn't find any key yet in that place which changes the picture I mentioned. Anyone?
Why could no one tell me about this? No developer has ever tried to hack this picture? Any ideas are welcome!
may lightning strike me down for posting a microsoft link here
but maybe the today screen is what you need to be able to edit to get what you want.
I'm not 100% sure, but it may point you in the right direction.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d.../html/ppc_programming_pocket_pc_2002_eiuz.asp
the registry has nothing to do with what you want to do.

What is doing the trick then? Why can't I manage to change these icons until now? Anyone??
those icons are located in one of the OS dlls. I believe that it's in the mfce300.dll Maybe you can change it creating a .mui for that dll but I'm not sure.
Is there any application that can set backlight level to half when you open it the first time and when you open it for the second time to set the backlight level to max and viceversa ?! And if there isn`t ..can it be done with mortscript or smthing because I want to link it to a hard button in AEbutton so it will be easier to switch from low backlight (for when I`m indoor), to max backlight (when outside), much easier. Thanks.
i did a seach and found one .... your just lazy....

I`we searched too and didn`t found any only a program called Backstep but that is for Compaq Devices with pocketPc 2002 and I have an ETEN Wm 6.1 nothing else...I found a lot of apps that can toggle backlight on or of but none of it is what I need . I don`t need a profile manager app, I need an app that can toggle half backlight to max backlight and max backlight to half backlight when I push a hard button (I will map it with aebuttons).
Still nobody can help ?!
look up mvbklight. It's a small today plugin that you can slide to the brightness you want, or just click in the middle for 50%. You can skin it also.
Just make a mortscript request. If there isn't a script out there yet, I'm sure someone could code one in all of 5 minutes.
On my windows folder (Open Touch v4 black lite) there is a program called backlight.exe so I just assigned a button to that. Since the default backlight switch was on battery power it's very convenient and one backlight.exe is running I can use DPAD left and right to increase/decrease backlight.
Thank you all for the answers... I think I will map a button to ,,Scenarios" application to be easier to change the light when I want....It`s still not what I want but this is good too Thanks again. I`ll try in the ,,morscript example" Topic too

That's a pretty jackass answer, don't you think? Any reason why you didn't reply with spmething useful, instead of posting this?
Yeah..that`s what I thought too.... but If he don`t want... You can`t force him to do it anyway. If he`s like that......
As the titlequestion says, is it possible? I want my X1 to stay in landscapemode, AT ALL TIMES.
Registry, hack or impossible? All answers accepted
Um... I won't be of much help here, because I don't know how it was done, but i heard it was possible. So keep searching .
Start->Settings->System(Tab)->Screen->General(Tab) Screen Orientation Portrait/Landscape Dunno if permanent until you change it.
Yes, it's possible using mortscript. Then one would wonder, why would you want that?
Easy thing:
Get Schaps Advanced Config tool. Go to the setting where you can set the display orientation. Set 270 degrees to "True", 0, 90, 180 to "False".
The slideout will no longer rotate back to portrait now.
Keep in mind that other tools (AEButton, QuickMenu) can still rotate the screen if they want.

Scenario: I type in an adress in Opera, and slide in the keyboard; - the phone changes orientation (to my irritation). I have several other scenarios that (certainly) only annoy me..

You've been very helpful, and I thank you The ultimate would of course be to find a registrysetting that cancels the whole orientationchangethingy, but this will absolutely help.
... X1 is really a device for me. by now I have changed EVERYTHING to my liking, even this
And i want to add that you can asign a button to do that, i mean one of the to button in config, the soft button the ones that we used to hard reset phone...

Hi all, there's a way to automatically change the screen orientation when i open a determined program?
I'm not asking something like gravity sensor, only an automatic way to rotate the screen when lauching a program, i think there may be a program wich can do that, but i can't find it...
Does anyone know something about it?
Thanks and excuse me for my bad english.
yes, i saw that function in tess + sp, its working with a mortscript for rotating the screen before running the program and geting it back to normal after the program finishes.
U can also use Wisbar Advanced Desktop (WAD) its a great soft with some many customizations !
Thanks!
I used MortScript, WAD is not free as i can see, and i need only the rotation, not the "shell" :\
Hello guys,
Is there any way to disable the selection of clock in TF3D? It occupies a larger part of the screen so it gets accidentally clicked n opens time n alarm settings.. Just want to disable its selection..
Thanks..
only thing i can think of is to use the minamized clock...just hover over the clock and swipe down and it will show a smaller clock
Yes till now i was using the small clock only, but i really like the big one with different skins, so thought of posting here.. Isnt there any way? Any change in registry or something?

You can do the same with sk-tools too. Somebody with SK-Tracker can take two snapshots before and after doing the tweak and compare to find the registry value responsible. Please be kind enough to post here, so others can use it on UC too.
^ that would be very helpful...
Heck yeah! I was thinking about learning how to program for WM, and somehow intercept the click message, but now I don't have to OMG, I might actually have time to do something other than fix this phone!! Nooooo!
OK, here you go. I think this is the key.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Clock]
"AppState"=dword:00000010
x10 = Disabled
x11 = Enabled
