Hi all,
I'm considering buying (not really, Voda will bring me one for free) a Pro. I have a Diamond right now, but I miss the way my old 750 works, specially the way the "Home/Phone" works.
I know Treo pro doesn't work like other Treo WM devices, but, it's possible to add all this stuff on the Pro? I'm specially interested in the active call plugin, and the Phone menu in today Screen.
Active Call Plugin
I've got the active call plugin working on mine. I copied the relevant registry entries across from my 750 and all the dll's that were referred to in the registry.

Great News!!!
And what about different resolution? The plugin resizes itself? Can you put some screenshots?
this thread has some helpful info.

The Treo Pro does support searching names as you type on the today screen by default. Gotta love it
You have never used the treo 700 I take it... the contact interaction is off the CHAINIZZLE on those devices... I hope to see it someday on my pro...
I did own a Treo 750.. ..does that count?
Picture Speed Dial
Can I get the Picture Speed Dial from the Today Screen I had on m y TREO 800 to my TREO PRO?

I use these tweaks constantly.

I apologize for asking, but I am a Treo 700wx to Cingular 8525 convert and I was just wondering if my sms threading appy is compatible on my 8525 being both are WM5. I have been adding most of what I had on the treo to my new phone but since the threading app is pretty much someone's hack, I didn't know if a hack like that was designed for just one type of device.

when in doubt, back up your device and try to install it...
It's a well known hack and I find it hard to believe that no one with an 8525 has tried it, particularly all the brave souls here.

excpet we dont know if the version you have is the same version everyone else has.. the question was kind of open ended... if it makes you feel better i extracted the threaded sms files from the treo 750 rom and installed it on my tytn, it works just fine.. this is why i said back it up and try it
Got the CAB for this?
Can some please send me the cab for this? I've looked everywhere and I cant find it. TIA
I'm new to the whole WM on a phone thing but I'm starting to see some major differences that I'm not liking or need to get use to versus my Treo 650 namely the way it handles SMS/MMS.
On my Treo 650 my messages where kept together based on the person's name or number and I can see the whole conversation. On my Wing, each message is just that a separate message much like an email in Outlook.
Are there any programs that will allow me have my in format they are on the Treo or Google Mail? More or less chat style messaging.
Thanks

What you're looking for exists and works well.
Extracted (not by me!) from Treo 750 ROM, the messaging threader has some issue 'cos of it has been made for touchscreen device not for smartphones. By the way it does its job.
If you want this, let me know and I'll tell how to workaround the "little" problems you'll have using that.
PS: You can also search in the forum ftp!

I've found this wonderful plugin...
but I cann't test it now cause I'm not at home....
please test and "feedback" ....
The Atom V is a device, not a today plugin
http://www.pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=1020
The plugin doesn't work on non atom V devices. If someone owns an atom V and can get me either a dump or a registry backup, I may be able to work out what it checks the device name against, and so patch it, or the devices for it to work.
It works on my qtek 2020, but seems not be a plugin.
Install and run GBCShell.WMobile.exe.
But i'm not able to personalize it.
hmmzz, i tought i already saw that pic somewhere else.

Has anybody tried it to install on Touch Elfin?
Quicklist.exe
i think we need a *.exe called quicklist.exe, because some icons are linked to this *.exe placed in windows
Hey everyone, i created this thread for mobile shell themes that will work on the 800w. just recently i myself started working on Helu wm7 theme that will work on the treo 800w. below i have posted a picture of what i have gotten so far. granted its all messed up still but its a start. i will keep you all posted to how it goes. in the meantime if anyone else has modded a theme for the 800w, please post! thanks, Ervin
Good Start
As a test (if you want to do so) I´m attaching modified WM7 HELU files (Separator.bmp, Separator1.bmp and Separator2.bmp and its respective mask files) from 240 to 320 width. It will look wierd, but it will fill your screen.
Replace your existent files in ms_bkg_now,.dat with this, don´t forget to rencrypt before changing back to .dat

This means that Launcher.xml, SpeedDial.xml, Contacts.xml, Weather.xml need some work as far the background, try to follow the HELU original scripts.

the 360x360 diamond theme works on the 800w if you run realvga at 96dpi.
All the mobile shell 2.1 themes that were made for the samsung i780 at 360x360 work as well.
it would probably be easier to start from those?
i've seen a few themes scattered throughout the forum. maybe we could consolidate in this thread?
Treo 800w SPb mobile shell themes.
Thanks for all the work guys. I was a big fan of the spb mobile shell theme on the 700wx. It worked very well with the 700wx. I tried the spbmobile shell, realVGA, 96dpi and it worked well and appeared about the same. However on the 800w after a few minutes I would have gliches where certain app buttons would not work or I would not be able to simply hit OK and get back to the WM6.1 stock today screen on the 800. It would be very usefull to try and get all the scatered posts on here. Additionaly it would be great if we could get our own treo 800w forum here.
Treo 800w SPB mobile shell Themes
Any head way. The Diamond theme worked well on the surface but I had a few glitches. For example I would not be able to hold the OK button and go back to the WM today screen after a few minutes or a soft reset or once the phone shut off. Also after a few minutes or the phone shutting off I would not be able to access most applications through the menue of SPB mobile shell Diamond theme. So I went back to using the WM stock theme. I like the spb mobile shell/Diamond theme better.
For those who are using Treo 800w, what resolution does it comes with? I know it is 320x320 but would like to know what dpi it is, 96dpi or 128dpi?
Any help would be appreciated.
Sorry to post on an old thread. Is there a link that I can download the 320x320 diamond theme for the treo 800w. I have been trying a lot of them and none of them seem to work like advertised.
I just posted a blog entry about my experience with RealVGA and 320x320 mode on the Treo Pro. Check it out at: http://nebowiki.blogspot.com/2008/11/treo-pro-320x320-love.html
I am curious about the experience of others?
Screenshots? Anyone?
I will try and put some screenshots together tomorrow. I have been running RealVGA at 96dpi for nearly a month now and have *never* switched back to 128dpi since installing it. The only faults I notice are the lack of icons for SMS messages in the threaded view and the compacted battery icon - neither of which bother me significantly. frankly, I think the rom should run at this reolution as stock - and as soon as we can cook up a rom I will strip out of it all the 128dpi stuff!
John
I'm running it for weeks now, really like it. The fonts may be too small for some, but I certainly appreciate it.
A few weeks on RealVGA for me too. Never need to change from 96dpi back to 128dpi. In fact 96dpi full 320x320 allows me to easily run apps that have problem with 240x240 mode.
Real VGA here as well. The Best. I wont go back.
Could anyone post any piccys of their pros running the 96dpi?
Thanks
Some screenshots
Hi folks,
A couple of screenshots of 96dpi on a Treo Pro just to show you what it looks like. If anyone wants a particular view showing, just ask.
John
Thanks John
I guess i have to be a problem child. its not working so well for me. a lot of things are messed up, images, background, phone dialer, etc. not so great on my end.

Using 96dpi, it's needed to get Olivetree's Biblereader to display icons on the taskbars correctly, along with some of the fonts.
Also needed @ 96dpi for Mobile Shell 2.1 or 2.11 to use the Omnia or Experia themes (found in the square screen themes thread at ppcgeeks.com). They go offscreen otherwise.
Yes, fonts in some places begin to become uncomfortably small. But, in most instances, it's not a problem. However button placement display gets off center with comm manager, especially the data connection on/off setting.
You can of course slide the font size a notch up, that will make most text a bit larger while keeping the 320 resolution. Not perfect, but perhaps for some a better compromise?

I've been running the RealVGa at 96dpi for a week. I've noticed that the icon for the threaded sms is missing. I can only see a "x" at the icon location. Is anyone able to share some view how i can change the icon back to normal?
Also another thing that i notice for is the view of the dialer is a bit shorter than the screen. Therefore, you can see a line of the background when you on the dialer.
Another weird things that i notice when running RealVga is that, when u dialed an unknown number, after the call, a notice will pop up and ask you whether you want to save the no. You will NOT be able to save the no. from there. Have tried that many times and gave up
Have hard reset and use back the original config. Evertthing went back normal. But just TOO BIG. I just wish that the original config will come with an option for us to choose between 128 and 96 dpi. .... 96 dpi still the best view for my treo pro
I use RealVGA with lot of pleasure on my Treo Pro, here
For now, i would like only replace the icon in the threaded sms, like i did for the battery icon. Maybe in the windows folder ...

Works fine on my Pro, except it's very small & my eyes aren't that young, anymore. Because of that, I installed CMKeyboard & a couple of htctoucher's skins from right here on xda.
If you're having issues with RealVGA, are you using the latest version by Ebag333? It can be found here: http://discussion.treocentral.com/showthread.php?t=170002 on TreoCentral. If you're using an earlier version, change to 128dpi before doing anything else, so that you're at "normal" resolution. The newer version uses Mortscript & it's suggested to install after a hard reset.

I'll have to look at Resco Keyboard. I like other products by them (file manager & registry tool).
AFAIK, some of the versions between 2.1 & 2.14 are OK with 96dpi.
