is the a solution for higer volume on ringtone speaker becouse when i put a mp3 as my ringtone it is very quite even on 100% volume

I don't have the problem.
I used to use a program called Power Audio editor to rip 30 seconds of an MP3, save as WAV or smaller mp3 for my old phone. With this sound editing program, you can highlight the sound wave and increase the volume by a certain percentage. Perhaps this might help for the creation of ringtones?

I am putting WMA and MP3 ringtones into the windows/ring folder of my i-mate (original like XDA2) but they just won't appear in the ringtone selection menu. They also don't have the option to "set as ringtone" when you press and hold on them. Any ideas anybody?
I have managed to get shortened mp3s in my ringtones but when the phone rings the tune has gaps in it - in time with the rings rather than just playing the tune.
Any ideas ?
What I have discovered is that if I encode the music into WMA but at a low bit rate, say 40kHz in mono, then it will work as a ringtone. Maybe the same could be true for MP3s?
Do they play as tunes or is there little gaps like a ring tone ?

i changed my registry so that my ringtones are uploaded from the card. but lately i keep getting the windows default ringtone. i have PPC profiles installed n on that i have my custom ringtone. its very frustrating to change the ringtone after a few calls from the settings>personal>phone. any ideas why this is happening?
The SD card gets switched off to save power when youre not using. So when the device turns on, SD takes time to get power and so the ringtone is not accessible and default ringtone is played. Best, take the single wma or ring file which you will be using, compress and paste into default windows/rings folder!

you can lower the file size of the mp3 file by lowering the bitrate but the sound quality will also be lowered.
thnx.. i guess then i will stick to the size.. dont want the quality lowered as the volume was low. had to jack up the volume for it to be heard..

Ofcourse the quality gets lowered on compres! But the best way i can suggest is, use simple softwares like goldwave and select those 40secs from songs or whatever file and save it to mono format and you can save half space by mono format! Mono format cz, the ring is going to be from a single speaker and stereo would be of no use!
another thing that I don't like in this earlier days as HD owner -.-
I tried to use mp3s and some midis as ringtones but while the default ringtones sound loud yet at 60% volume, the mp3s, wav or midis sound very low...
how to fix?
does it happen only to my hd?

Is only the ring tone (the one you are trying to use) low volume? everything else is plenty loud?
If so you might try re encoding the mp3 with higher volume..
There are various options how to do this depending on what software you have available to you.. But i am pretty sure you can Google up a solution

i have tryed re encoding the mp3 but its the same, i think the problem is just in incoming calls if i put an mp3 song
I always use audacity to amplify the mp3 past the clipping point. This always make any of my mp3 ringtones just as loud as the standard ones.

i ahve used that. if i listen t a song with the wmp or coreplayer they sound loud, but when i put the same song as ringtone its so quite
Hey guys, I was wondering why all my mp3 ringtones are awfully silent, while the wavs are alright (but they lack the mp3s' quality). Is there a way to increase the volume for the mp3 ringtones to match the wavs'? Thanks in advance.

May I know if you test mp3 ringtone volume from Settings | Sound Notification? If so, try to test it by calling your phone. In my experience, the sound quality is very bad when test from Settings | Sound Notification, but when come to incoming call it is quite good.
On second thought, I'll just leave it as wav. It really does sound a lot better when you're being called.
Maybe you've got hd-tweak installed, there's an option under "sound" where you can switch off 100db limit and set it to "normal". This worked for me!
