Hi there
I have tried creating a shortcut to Settings, Connections, Bluetooth by creating a .ink file in Programs with the following command:
21#ctlpnl cplmain.cpl,23
have also tried
23#ctlpnl cplmain.cpl,23,1
However it comes up with the following error (see screenshot).
I know that you can get bluetooth tray icons but I'm trying to stay away from that as I'd just like a shortcut that I can use with an Apps Launchers like SPB Plus 4.
I've also tried this application for creating shortcuts but get the same message
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=275577
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Anis
Simple answer Bluetooth Toggle
44#\Windows\ctlpnl.exe cplmain.cpl,23 works for me
Thanks for the reply but that solution is not what I'm looking for.
I always have Bluetooth on because I have a few different bluetooth devices. I need to get to the control panel to set the specific device to Wireless Stereo.
e.g. I have a Parrot Speaker which I have to activate through the Bluetooth Control Panel (see the screenshots).
As I said, there are Tray Icons available such as BTIcon or btIO but I'm trying to create a simple shortcut that will take me straight to the Bluetooth page.
Thanks
Ok thanks - I'll try that.

Hi, I'm going to be setting some of these phone up for business, and have decided that we don't want the users to have access to the bluetooth functionality. I would like a way of removing/Hiding bluetooth (or at least the icons for it) so the users cannot easily re-enable it.
Anyone know how this could be done?
Thanks
Hi,
Hope your customers wont visit this forum
Ok, open your registry editor and delete the following branches:
1. A 'BT hardware not found' message will be shown at each attempt to enable Bluetooth
DELETE:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth]
2. BT icon removal
DELETE:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\BTIcon]
3. BT shortcuts (optional)
Add int-type (number) value "Hide" with "1" as its data value to
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Bluetooth]
and create "HKLM\ControlPanel\MyCpl\Bluetooth Settings" key & add int-type value "Enable" with "0" as its data
Thanks for that SP, i've got some of it working: I've tried all three things you listed
I have removed the 'tray icon' from the front screen at the bottom, and also removed the icon from settings->connections.
However I still seem to have the 'Blue tooth headset mode' icon on the front screen and the Bluetooth Settings Icon in settings->system. Any ideas on how to remove these?
Thanks for any help
all items in settings are cpl files in the windows dir
see if you can delete the cpl file which is named something like bluetooth
about the today item then there is also a place in the reg's where they are handled as in which ones are display'd on the list you can check or uncheck
but why remove bluetooth ?
it's not like they cant just install it themselfs
unless you mess with the extented rom they will get their bluetooth back after next hardreset
education may be cheaper than trying to turn the bluetooth off.
Faking users...

Try this utility. It does aforementioned PLUS disables headset mode on Today screen
To prevent BT enabling over hard-resets replace your original TPEnable.exe with this one. Don't forget to unlock your extended ROM first
ps: 'BT Settings' shortcut is a HTC-specific one and can't be removed easily
What danger do they pose by having Bluetooth?
BlueJacking?
if they are mobile, some may need it for headsets???
Thanks SP! that works really, well, and with BT disabled, I can live with the one icon left in system. I'm not going to alter the extended rom, as the only people who should be doing the hard resets are the tech support team.
Do you have the registry entries for removing the bluetooth headset item from the today screen?

You're welcome!
Here it is:
[HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Today\Items\Profile]
And leave this one:
[HKLM\ControlPanel\MyCpl\Bluetooth Settings:Enable] = 0
Maybe HTC will revise their code & fix the bug in the future, so the following will work then and will disable 'BT Settings'
The comm manager one step and then BT on two step
This is a too many time when i'd like to use the GPS
How to do one step this process? One click BT ON, or one click BT OFF
Please HELP
I too would like to know this...!
You can use quickmenu.
this replaces the start menu but has a handy bluetooth menu to quickly switch it on.
Google search cicleBT !!
Simple on/off.
I use VJVolubilis.
Download the cab here -
http://www.vijay555.com/index.php?Releases:VJVolubilis
Once installed you will have a folder under your programs that is called VJVolubilis or similar, if you go into the folder you will get to a few files/shortcuts - the one you want to run is called 'VJVolubilis BlueToggle', I renamed the shortcut to Bluetooth Toggle, moved it to the root of my programs and deleted all the other files and folder.
Then I used Buttons under settings to configure Button 3 with the shortcut I renamed to Bluetooth Toggle (or VJVolubilis BlueToggle if you haven't renamed).
Now I just hold the bottom button on the left everytime I want to turn bluetooth on and off. Really simple stuff.
Cheers

how to create a link from commanager that can run only one function,For example open WIFI or clos Bluetooth.I mean I don't want every time to run commanager, only run a link to achieve.sory for my english and thank you.
Turning Wifi on and off in one click would be useful to me too
You can press on the GPRS icon and turn Wifi from there but its too small & uncomfortable
Because I use Spb Mobile Shell and I don't use Today so I create a page which I put links to achieve commanager's function.
there is a software called VJoublis..map it to your button..or make a shortcut to it and map it to any of the Icons and your done
also there is a thread here called "List of .lnks"...it has the shortcut number to Toggle ON/OFF GPRS,WIFI,BT and much more

thank you i'll try it,but i'd like to know what's the commanager's shortcut parameter, how can tell me
i dont think its possible because CommManager is a seperate EXE...but you could try looking in the Registery, perhaps thereis some info
"Battery status" has this feature in it's tray launch, I use this with large icons in "second today".
You could also try FtouchSL and use the active corners.
Holding a corner of the screen for say, a second, could turn on/off Wifi and same with bluetooth.
Hi there, I use quickmenu which is like the best program ever for ppc, but I can't find a way to add a wifi toggle to the quickmenu. Currently I have to go into settings->communications-comm manager and then turn on/off wifi which is very annoying!
Any way to add it to the list?
I use spb panel which does not have the wifi on/off toggle like the today screen.
THANKS!
phone alarm from pocketmax.net will do the tricks.
Or use pdaStatus which is a today plug-in, a screenshot in my post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=459241&page=8
I use SPB Phone Today plugin... has made it ultimately easy! Can toggle all connections from it including bluetooth and wifi.
Try WirelessToday.cab; is shows you your Operator, BT status and WiFi status.
When you touch the today-item it will bring you to the comm manager.
Thanks, but I use the spb panel instead of today screen.
I assigned the left key button to comm manager for easy access.
attached is what you're looking for
I use this one to quick access to Wifi on/off http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442727
check my new application, it is created to automatically control wifi and BT based on where you are. it might help you

I get al squares and unreadable fonts in start menu??
I have read multiple threads on how to add internt favorites and various apps to the startmenu as a shortcut. That is pretty easy. I also use Cookies' Hone Tab to add shorcuts to my homescreen. Again pretty easy. However, neither of these methods allow me to add the "Bluetooth Settings" (starmenu\settings\bluetooth) icon to start menu or homescreen. I just cannot find the location of the BT Settings in my file explorer to add it as a shorcut. Also, Cookies Home tab does not find it when trying to add it as a program.
Anyone know where it is so I can make a shortcut to it or is there another method? I just want to add a shortcut/icon on my homescreen that lets me go straight into The Bluetooth Settings Menu. The BT Toggle switch under CHT is not enough. I have many BT devices I switch bewteen and they often do not pair automatically as they should and I would like a quicker way to access BT settings to switch between devices and profiles manually when needed. I have looked on Windows Marketplace, OMArket, and forums for an BT app i could just add that would do this but could not find any apps specifically for BT settings. Anyone know of any?
Any help would be appreciated.
