This is to request a Xbox Live gamertag app for winmo. There is one for the Iphone of all systems, how come MS hasnt done one for WM is beyond my imagination. There was talk back in 2006 for it, but was never launched. Can anyone create an app, Im sure alot of live gamers would be interested

Im working on the website now for us. I'll be changing this thread from "gauging interest" to the "development thread" for users of the portal to post comments and such on this thread.

If so, that is a good idea, because there is portals, like htc's one, but it sucks big time, there is never any new stuff there, and the links provided is not so good.

of course everyone would love to see some apps on there (i'm guessing if this became widespread you could only add freeware)

I was wondering if someone might be able to help make a pokedex app for vga phones. It doesn't have to be anything special. Just a list of the pokemon including their description and a small picture of the pokemon. It wouldn't have to look super amazing but just look nice. I was hoping to get at least the first 151 but if someone adds more that would be great. I am not a developer which is why I am making this request. I am willing to provide the description and info for each of the pokemon if someone does decide to start developing. Also I was hoping that the app could support a trainer card like it did in the games. Possibly from pokecharms.com/trainercards

The main reason why you will likely never see such app is because unless the dev gets the explicit consent from its creator, they will get sued from here till the middle of Kingdom come for copyright infringement.
But if it is freeware and gives credit to nintendo, gamefreak, and the creators of pokemon as well as those who own the rights to it isnt that okay. I mean they even have an iPhone pokedex app and I'm sure that Nintendo didn't give permission.
You might be able to get someone to make a flash based one. I looked online, but couldn't find one.
yeah, im sure all the pokemon sites in existance all need explicit consent from nintendo.
they're not coming after you for a small WMapp that you're not making money off of.

If you are willing to pay for them www.handango.com is a slick site too.
Three out of the last four fridays, Handango has given away a free app which is usually only sold for a fee. Worth a look.

Check out Xtrakt and Experiment 13 - They were Sony Ericsson commissions for the Xperias, and are the best games I've come across for native WinMo (so excluding emulators) . Also, there's a pretty good port of Doodle Jump in French on Omarket. Think it's the Blackberry version, since it's touch controlled rather than G-sensor, but pretty awesome nonetheless.
I am still mostly new to developing (since august and only released 1 app in the market) and I have an idea for a home-replacement. I only have sketches of what I would like it to look like. Since I have already posted the pictures and the descriptions of the functions of the UI on my website, I will just give you the name of the website to go to. I found side-bar like app and it's called Smart taskbar (sidebar). It's good but i don't like full screen look. It would better looking sth. like Objectdock.

EDIT: I probably won't be able to help that much with the deving because I haven't worked with the andorid APIs yet because I am still learning but I know all about the SDK and how to use it completely. I also know a lot of overall android info.
Thank you all for replying. Sorry it took so long for me to reply. I just recently got the XDA app and I could load up all of my threads. I have made some progress on the home replacement app. My first problem was to get the app to be accepted by the phone as a home replacement. I got that figured out. Then I placed a simple grid view in the app containing all of the application icons from the phone. My current problem is that I don't know how to make each icon launch the application. If anyone knows how to do that, it would help tremendously. Once again, thank you so much for hearing me out
Hello! Thanks for stopping by! I'm making an app with a friend of mine and we both are terrible at making graphics (we both code). The game is a simple dice game yet what sets it apart from other dice games is online play and a level of polish above the rest. Our code is pretty polished, even in its humble beginnings, so we are looking for a graphics designer who is willing to help show to users a polished interface.
We don't care how much experience you have as long as you're willing to learn (we can't teach you though obviously). The only thing we ask for is that you give at least 3 hours a week to the project. I believe that is not a lot to ask for. We are doing this project as a hobby and we hope to add another member (or two) to our team. Once again thank's for your time.

not hijacking, but it'd be really cool to see resources designers kicking around here make. which could then be used in projects by devs. just putting something out there will encourage others to use it. ie. icons and so on.

The only problem with that is that some people don't like other people to use their work. It's the same thing with code (i.e. open source or not). In any case it would be better to submit work you would like to share on Open Clip Art instead of a thread that would be hard to upkeep and search through.

The time it will take depends on you're proficiency with creating buttons backgrounds and stuff like that. Right now I have three people that want to work on this and I always had in mind to have different themes for this app. I'm going to ask Aoi_sora9x if he won't mind other people making other different themes. I will get back to you as soon as I can.

i thoroughly disagree! so if a designer didn't want to share, they're not forced to post whatever they've made on here. and as xda is a large community, you never know who could be reading about your work. maybe a new forum would be best.
I think the main reason is that XDA is a developer forum and not a designer forum?
artists and designers mostly will post on art forums, like how developers will only share stuffs on developer forums. When i wanna share a new icon set, XDA is not the first place i would think of. :/
