Using ICS to share the WiFi connection? - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Hi!
Does anyone know if it; possible to share the wifi connection using internet connection sharing? My wifi card died in my PC and I won't have the replacment until 4 days from now. I was able to connect using the 3G network, which is cool. But I can't seem to find anything about shareing the wifi connection. I'm just using USB for this, with 3G, the speed is more than acceptable, but I'm curous about sharing the WiFi via USB over my Tilt.

Use WMWifirouter

I know it's possible to do this without that software.
Does anyone know the details of this process?

Using wifi to send my laptop internet

I currently have my wizard setup as a moden to feed my laptop internet via bluetooth and it seems to work quite well but my laptop does not have bluetooth so i am forced to use an adapter which is sort of a pain. is it possible to do something similar with wifi? i cant seem to make it work.
any help would be appreciated.
Derek
u would have to set up and Ad-Hoc connection between your wizard and laptop and set internet connection sharing over that connection.
is it possible to enable ICS on WM5? i looked through the options and i culod not see it. are there any programs out there that do it?

Sharing a 3G Connection over WiFi with WM5

Is it possible to share my 3G operator connection over my device's WiFi connection, essentially turning my phone into a Wireless Access Point?
This would be a fantastic function, there must be some genius out there who's written a small app to do this.
I'm using a HTC Hermes (TyTn) running Windows Mobile 5.
Waiting in anticipation... Thanks.
As far as I know, it's not possible. You could share it with a notebook or something via USB or bluetooth and then have the notebook act as a wireless AP. Only way I know to do it. Sorry.
This is where I found my solution........

Wireless Adapter

Hi,
Was just wondering if the polaris can be used as a WIFI adapter for PC?
i.e. using the wifi capabilities of the phone to connect to internet on the pc.
Thanks
hi I think what you are looking for is wmwifirouter - google that and will bring you to there homepage. Not only does that but can do other sort of tethering as well eg - 3g to bluetooth, 3g to pc, wifi to pc, and others.
Hmm, so with this program, basically I can connect via the following illustration?
wifi router ----wireless---> polaris ----USB---> PC?
The site you sent to me sounds moe like making the smartphone into a router.. Though, i may be wrong..
Thanks though!
hi yes it does both though i believe to do what you are asking the computer has to have internet sharing enabled someone correct me if i"m wrong, but I have done this myself when i was playing with this program and had it working although i have only done this once as i use the program to make the polaris a wifi router.

Wifi broke - use phone wifi instead?

My PC's wireless card has broke. I would like to connect the HTC to the PC via USB and use internet connection sharing, to share the phone's WiFi connection. NOT 3G.
The option isnt there to share the wireless connection, only the 3g, which I dont want to do as it's expensive. There is wireless in my home.
Does anyone know how to do this?
Try this: http://www.wmwifirouter.com/ it may help.
Same question, is there a freeware solution?
Try Android with Tethering

No internet conection when connected to virtual router

Hi,
What I'm trying to do is sharing the internet from my PC to Hero. I tried using Virtual router and Connectify. The phone is able to connect to the hotspot in both instances, I can see the packets being sent, but there is no internet connection.
There has to be something bout the Modaco ROM that I have running, because when I had 2.1 Rom on my phone it could connect to the internet using the method I mentioned. But that ROM was sluggish and I reverted to the cupcake.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Sharing from your laptop to your phone. I've seen the other way around happen, but not the backward method. I don't know if that's possible with the applications available at the moment.
It's the same as connecting ti a WIFI router. The only difference is I want to share the connection using my wifi adapter as I'm using WiMAX connection.
The thing is- there's some limitation on the phone, probably implemented by HTC to force peolpe to use thei GSM connection.
Any ideas?
