to cook a rom you need a kitchen. Each device has it's own kitchen.
Please check alpine wiki to see if a kitchen exists for the alpine.

WM 6.1? Where can I find it? Suited for Polaris?

Hello,
Where can I find the latest and most stable version of WM 6.1 for the HTC Touch Cruise. Which version do you advice and why?
I'm new here, so most probably I overlook something. Hopefully somebody can help.
How safe is it to flash your ROM?
I like the tools you can get around here to tune your device!!
Thanks in advance for sharing your info!!
Greetz,
Michel
There is no WM6.1 for Polaris yet!
I am pretty sure that there will be more than one very soon!
Aha hah hah ... Only official ROMs is suited for our TC.
Until HTC releases it, we have to wait ....
No No I can't wait any more ....

Any chance you could dump your 6.1 ROM and post it on rapidshare?

I meant I already created a WM6.1 rom for it... it is not a ship rom. But I'm pretty sure if HTC would create it, it would look almost the same, cos I completely recreated the XIP section based on the Kaiser WM6.1 rom, updated the boot.rgu changes and also driver changes related to WM6.1.
It is completely stable until now and much faster.

Sure, but you would have to create the nbh file from a nb image... is that ok for you?
XDA Orbit 2
Can anyone please dump a XDA Orbit 2 UK Rom. Just in case it needs to be sent back for repair, as an uploaded Rom would render the warranty Void.
By the way Bepe, really looking forward to your 6.1 release. Thanks for your, and all other Cooks, previous contributions!

It took me 3 days of preparing the XIP section and after I've got the device it took me more than 5 hours to really get it working (and I was the one who made Xipport.exe). There is no how to, you need to use mreloc to move all the XIP modules around to make space for the new dll's.
Better way, but much more complicated is to start with an empty XIP and add one module after another, this way it is almost perfect.
Let me add some more stuff and I'll release a beta, but right now I'm busy with getting the video drivers a bit faster. Scrolling is a mess with this device (compared with other devices with the same processor)

CustomRUU for Polaris

Hi all, I've created HTC Polaris CustomRUU patched to perform a 'task 32' instead of a 'task 28' after flashing an .nbh, so it will not format your device if you just flash a radio or a splash screen.
How to: Drop the .nbh file of your choice in the same folder as CustomRUU and start flashing.
Have fun.
v1.2
-Fixed ModelID.fig
This is a great idea. This could come in handy, very handy... Thanks alot!
Thanks for the app. Does this mean you are going to develop some stuff for Polaris? Enjoyed your Kaiser work.

Welcome here UDK!
As I see, you have a polaris too
Do you plan to cook a rom too?
udk,
As a simple user of what's available, I already flashed both my radio and splash screen and I never had my Polaris formatted. So why is exactly your Custom_RUU made for?
Thanks.

Try to flash radio or splash with the default HTC RUU, your Polaris will be formatted.
Great Job,you are super....
Thx udK!
For now, only missed Polaris Kitchen...(we use for the moment Kaiser's rom kitchen...)
Cheers!
If anyone want I can release a very simple Kitchen for Polaris.
Hello udK! nice to see you here! Im looking forward to flash the rom you made in the future I loved your Lizard roms in my Trinity

#1 Post on the new Xperia Thread

Hey I’m the first one to post! Yippee
Thanks Admins...
It would be better if the phone was actually out.
Here’s hoping SE release the X1 sooner rather than later. It has the potential to become a great device especially if someone on here is able to port Manila (TouchFlo 3D) to it.
Personally I’m not sure how good or useful the panels interface is going to be. I guess I need to see more detailed reviews or demos of the device to make up my mind regarding that.
A preview is available here

But why take it out on the Xperia X1 forum and not the General forum... No harm done, enjoy your new sub-forum.

Learning how to cook

I was wondering, if anyone had any links to good threads on how to learn to cook X1 ROMs. I've tried a few custom ones, but would like to combine all the best bits from them into one, and learn how to cook myself.
However, the link on the wiki about how to cook a ROM is dead.

hi
i want cook a rom.
what for "PROGRAMMS" i need for cook a rom??
BIG THX
I am interested too
Hello Everyone,
I am interested too, what software do I need to cook a Windows Mobile ROM?
no offense, but cooking a rom would take a LOT more time and brainpower than simply searching the forums to find out how to do it.
if you dont have the skills to find out, you don't have the skills to do it.
Funny

Here what I did:
- Download kitchen from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=628948
- Download Tmo US Leo 2.10 rom from here http://www.4shared.com/dir/22189940/b8552fa0/Shipped_Leo_ROMs.html
- Extract RUU_Signed_0409.nbh
- Open the kitchen and dump nbh file.
Now you have everything to Cook your own rom.

With the TMOUS Leo 2.10, what's the diffence between "...ship.part1.rar" and "...ship.part2.rar"?
Also, Ship_pkgs.7z for the LEO seems to be TOPAZ. So, which one is the LEO...?
I didnt mean it that way, tbh, I have no clue about rom cooking, I've just gotten sick of all the idiots who come posting about "WHERE IS ANDROID????" and "WHY IS MY PHONE BRICKED!!!!" who obviously did no research at all before starting. sorry if i rubbed you the wrong way.

You need two parts to extract file, then you get .exe file, then extract that .exe file again, you get RUU_signed.nbh.
Now you just import RUU_signed.nbh and cook your own rom.
I use ervius's visual kitchen. Here's a link to one I threw up last night using the stock rom from TMOUS...
[ Kitchen ] [ 3-31 ] [ v0.1 ] [21889] RSToyGuy's TMO.US Kitchen
Not all pretty and stuff, but it works for me!

He already responded and apologized... Reading everyone's posts before you hit reply is a good thing, generally.
how exactly do i extract the RUU_signed.nbh?
UPDATE: I got it, for anyone that may be wondering the same thing I was having trouble with, open the downloaded .exe from with an archive editor (7-zip, or winRAR) and extract the RUU_signed.nbh.
Are you guys dumping the default T-Mobile ROM? I keep getting errors when I try to do that....
