Hi folks,
perhaps somebody knows more about this issue.
My T-Mobile MDA Compacy I has problems with its touchscreen - the middle of it has no more detection.
I draw a few straight lines to demonstrate - also made a video:
In the end in the middle it makes "bows" - tries to simulate where it means that I pressed...

Anybody got a clue?

Hello. My Qtek S100 had such problem. The problem may be resolved only by replacing a touch panel (touch screen glass). There is no software way to resolve this problem.

hi. anybody knows if there's a way to recaliber it? my second TyTN (changed yesterday due to a USB/BT issue) seems sometimes need to recaliber it... for now no screen problems, but i don't use vibration alert
My XDA Mini has a screen issue.
Only part for the screen (the middle) has stopped responding to the touch pad.
How do I fix this, has anyone else had it?
Cheers
Max
My Wizard (O2 XDA Mini S) has just developed this problem. The touch screen does not respond to touches around the middle of the screen. The outside edges of the screen work fine however.
I've had it for about 4 years now though, so I suppose its lasted well really. It's a G4 and I installed a WM6.1 ROM on it about 6 months ago (which is awesome btw, makes the phone sooo much better / faster!) but I don't think this is related to the problem.
Any known fix for this? I think it's a hardware issue since I also have the problem where upon opening/closing the keyboard, the screen goes white with multicoloured vertical lines and the phone emits a high pitched noise (have to put phone into standby then wake it up again to resolve). This, whilst annoying, I can live with, but not now the middle of the screen no longer responds to touches
I read somewhere its to do with the ribbon cable that connects the screen and main board, its gets trapped or worn over time as the keyboard is slid in and out. So I guess the touch problem is a more severe symptom of this? Can it be fixed?
Also a point of interest is that I keep the phone in the case a lot of the time. Could the magnets have possibly affected the screen? Anyone else with this problem keep the phone in its case a lot?
Thanks in advance,
Jamie
Hi Guy,
i bought a used Qtek 2020. The problem is that sometimes (irregular) the display flickers, especially the upper left corner. Sometimes the whole display is unreadable.
I think it's no software problem I have tried WM2003 and WM2005 the problem still exists in both versions.
Any hints?
hv u tried to replace the LCD?
Hi to u all
i have a major problem with the screen alignment
there was a small damage on the foil thats on the screen of the tytn
Now i have flasht a new rom image and got stuck on the screen alignment
i can press the small X and it will move and starts over and over again
is there a way to bypass the screen alignment
Hope there is someone who has a solution
You need a cab install called remote screen alignment. You also need another Hermes to get the alignment settings off.
''remote Screen Alignment gets the alignment settings and stores it on your pc. If for some reason you require them to be re-entered but can't do so manually it can fix this. It was originally intended for people with poor eyesight or other problems who had trouble hitting all 5 points on the calibration. Its a freeware cab.
Hope this helps...
Not strictly a question so i figured i'd put it here.
Hi guys - I dropped my phone and now there is a crack from the bottom of the screen leading up to the dock. The screen's touch does not work up to here but works fine above this level (above the level of the dock)
Has anyone else experienced this and how did you overcome it?
e.g. is there a tool to reside the screen or a way of moving the on screen buttons?
Please share anything that you have learnt!
