My iphone was germany but I installed two roms UK and...
I have a problem with keyboard in this mobile
Whenever I type "y", I get "z". Whenever I type "z", I get "y"
please can you help me ?
thanks
so forget that z is z and y is y. z is now y and y is now z. next. lolol
yes but I paid much money for it
please can you help me ?
maybe you could look into this...
http://ae.inc.ru/aekmap.php
i think this one is really what you need
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446449
This is because German keyboard layouts are QWERTZ, and UK keyboard layouts are QWERTY.
But if I flashing rom with UK why keyboard QWERTZ remain in it?
dunno but i think that second link i posted covers it...
two solutions does not work
other solutions please ?
did you really replaced string in registry and doesn't work!?!? may be you installed something else that messed up input (hint: sip). Make a backup and try hard reset, then reinstall ALL step by step and you will see what's wrong

Why? Check the link figurine posted. That solution works 100%. I, too, have bought german X1, installed UK ROM over it and was left with qwerty keyboard and changing that little number makes all the difference. What you might need is Total Commander, so you will actaully have access to the registry.
thanks all is ok already
explain what have you done? may be useful to others...
Yes of course I used sktools for edit registry and then I changed registry in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD\CurLang
Make sure to edit the value in hex!
as my phone is origin germany puts value 407
soft reset
already

Wasn't sure if anybody had a .CAB made for this so I finally figured out the proper registry values and made one. Enjoy.
After installing, you need to reset your device. The only thing that is wrong with this is that the . and , are swapped. I like this better as I use . more than ,
may come in handy, thx

Ty, there is a keyboard fix but it fixes the . and , as well, which i hate.
Awesome. This works great. I had already memorized the key positions, but this makes it less embarrassing when other people are using my phone
the "." and "," still not fix
Hi,
Is there any way to DISABLE the T9 mode permanently?
I really hate T9
Is there any registry key or something for this?
Thanks.
I am having the exact same problem. (16 button version touch dual btw)
I am sure the is a reg setting that will do it, but so far all I have managed to do is either disable HTC's keyboard software or jam the buttons in numerical mode.
Im fairly certain that someone who knows their way around the wm6 registry could find a fix.

I thought when you turn it off on the soft keyboard it stayed off?
Not really, it reactivates itself all the time.
I found here a CAB File which claims to do this job, but i wasn't able to give it a try. So here it is, but keep it in mind: Use it at your own risk.
we
I suspect thats the cab that jammed my keypad in numeric mode.
I highly reccomend you do not run this on a 16 key touch dual
Tja, testet, og det den gjør er å slå av alt annet enn nummer. Med andre ord nesten verre enn xT9
Oh, sorry...wrong language
What I wrote was "I just tested, and all it does on my 16 key is to turn off anything but number input. So, in other words it's almost worse... "

I am spending time getting to know the reg on the dual, hopefully will find a fix, but as I said - this is probably trivial for someone who knows what they are doing.
any news on this topic?
any updates ?
Hard reset will help you
There is one little cab on HTC.com, thats disable xT9

Found on Polish forum: post 1 last point (no 18) tweak. Download cab, soft reset and enjoy! When your stylus is in, you have phone keyboard, when out standard keyboard (of course you can change keyboards in registry). For me great app!
Cab attached
Great idea. And where is cab?
You must create account (sorry, but I dont want share .cab without permision of author), and download here:
18. Zmiana klawiatury w zależności od położenia rysika
Pojawiła się ciekawa aplikacja, która potrafi zmienić klawiaturę w zależności od tego, czy rysik jest wyciągnięty, bądź włożony.
Instrukcja instalacji:
Ściągamy i instalujemy .caba przygotowanego przez kolegę lukjod. Domyślnie ustawiona jest: przy włożonym rysiku: Phone Keypad, przy wyciągniętym: zwykła klawiatura. Edytując następujące klucze rejestru możemy dostosować do własnych preferencji:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HtcExtFun]
"StylusOutSipName"="Resco Keyboard"
"StylusInSipName"="Compact QWERTY"
Aby zmiany weszły w życie wykonujemy softreset.
Pozdrowionka.
For me works excellent and quickly!
where can we download?
Instructions Translated :-
18. Changing the keyboard depending on the location of the stylus
There is an interesting application that can change the keyboard depending on whether the stylus is reached, or inserted.
Installation instructions:
Download and install. Caba prepared by fellow lukjod. The default setting is: when you inserted rysiku: Phone Keypad, when stretched out: the ordinary keyboard. If you edit the following registry keys can customize to your own preferences:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ HtcExtFun]
"StylusOutSipName" = "Resco Keyboard"
"StylusInSipName" = "Compact QWERTY"
For the changes came into force, run softreset.
You have word ".caba" hidden in the text in bold - there is a link. I have just wrote to LUKJOD to attach cab directly in this forum...
nope thats just a .caba in bold
in my post you have in bold in original message on pdaclub.pl you have link opened through .caba word
It's already in this forum

Sounds a lot like something was done time ago and reg entries match something done in this forum.

im new to this. how do u change 2 the full qwerty in registry?
Is it possible to change the list of alternative offerings provided when you press and hold the .com button when typing in a web address in Opera? The current offerings .com, .net, .org and .gov I am sure are perfect if you're american but I would like to add (or replace a .gov) with a .co.uk?
I would like to be able to change this too. As you say, .co.uk would be useful to have.
I've done a search through the registry, and the entries don't appear to be controlled from there. I'm guessing this means they are hard coded into the keyboard binaries.
Bagpuss.
you can try to install FingerKeyboard, or Pocket Pal... these keyboards ale very good, and you can customize shortcuts.
Thanks for the suggestion but I am quite happy with the HTC keyboard - I guess I shall have to continue pressing.com then backspace.uk.

would you be so kind to tell me where I cab find Pocket Pal? Google did not help me very much. Thanks in advance.
I would also like to be able to change .gov or . net to a different extension (.be) without changing htc native keyboard. Anybody has any ideas? There is already a cab in Hints & Tips thread to add euro sign next to dollar sign in keyboard, so this should also be possible?.
.gov to .be
I cannot believe that no one of you out there can come up with any solution? Anybody???
Hi Communiteee...
I have just started tweaking my TP2 and for some reason the above mentioned keys die on me...
I initially thought it was the "Classic Word Completion" cab but I do not have this installed and this AM it died again
If I hard reset with the internal storage it does not fix the problem BUT when HR with the Hardware keys it Does
Is there a way to check in the registry if these are still mapped correctly please.
The path would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

If you loaded on a new rom then you probably have to find and install the keyboard fix for whatever version of your phone you have. Look in the thread you downloaded the rom from and you'll likely find it in there.
That said.. if you havnt installed a rom and your keys randomly stopped working I would still try a keyboard fix. You can do a search in the rom subforum for them.
Good luck

Thank you Aaron,
I have only loaded the stock 6.5 ROM upgrade - will try to re-flash that and if that does not work I will try the Keyboard Editor I found on the Must have Apps Thread...
Will let ya know If I could get this resolved...
I am in the US and use AT&T. I have to install a cab every time I install a ROM or my keys are all screwed up. Maybe that is your issue. Good luck.

Hi There kimtyson,
Please advise which .cab that would be which you have to use?
I reflashed the Stock ROM and the keys worked for a while and then they decide to stop I have no idea why - I downloaded Energy ROM last night - will flash that at work and see if this resolves my problem...
HTC have replaced my Hardware Keyboard so it has to be something to do with the software
Thnx!
Bad Boi,
You mentioned your keyboard was replaced by htc already. I would send it back. If a hard reset doesnt fix the prob then I would say its a hardware prob. Maybe I missunderstood you but a hard reset puts the registry back to stock. You may have a bad flash and need to try to reflash the upgrade. Also, every cab or reg edits I did to get back the good old predictive text/word completion, it would always mess up my soft keyboard not the hard one. I have found that if you install HDTweak and enable the T9 option it will give you the predictive text back. You can even adjust how many words it suggests. Dont forget to turn off xt9 on your device. It works like a charm. If you need a good keyboard remapper I use Tarkim keyboard controller. I have to do almost my entire keyboard cause there isnt a 100 % fix for the Tilt 2. Here are links for the programs I mentioned. I hope this helps.

Thank you thebigrhinoone,
I have reflased stock upgraded ROM and the problem still pops up now and then - with or without tweaks added...
I have the Clasic Word Completion from PPC Geeks (Similar to Vogue Stock) for my TP2 and that works without any problems and no remapping required...
For the time being the ASDF is working - I will Flash the new ROM if the keys lock up again just to make sure if its hardware or not...
FYI
The way I get the predictive text working doesnt require any key mapping. The key remapper was for you to reassign the keys that arent working to see if that solves the problem. Sorry if I wasnt clear about that. If your problem persists try using the hd tweak method to see if that takes care of it. There are a lot off options in that program that you might like as well to tweak your phone. Take care and good luck.
